At the end of March, Zhao Qingju's child was born, a big, healthy boy.
Both the Sun family and the Wei family were overjoyed.
Zhao Qinglan hadn't been to Beijing for quite a while, so she decided to go and visit her younger sister and niece, and also check on the preparations for her family's supermarket in Beijing.
Knowing that she was going, Zhao Qingzhu also had some intention, but her mother was not at home, and if she also left, there would be no one to take care of the two children at home, and she was also worried about her husband.
After much deliberation, Zhao Qingzhu regretfully abandoned the idea and asked her older sister to take the gifts she wanted to bring to her younger sister and nephew.
Seeing that her younger sister couldn't travel far when her mother wasn't around, Zhao Qinglan suggested that her sister hire a nanny for the family.
The current environment is not like before, when hiring a nanny or something to help at home would not be considered exploitation.
Pay the nanny the same salary, and your sister can do more and create more value by freeing up her hands.
Upon hearing this, Zhao Qingzhu realized it made sense. After discussing it with her sister, she found someone directly in the family compound.
They still live in a house in the family compound. They hire someone from the compound as a nanny so that they don't have to stay at their house at night and take up space, and also because it's close by and convenient for everything.
She didn't marry a very young military wife, fearing that her absence from home would negatively impact her husband. Instead, she married a clean-cut, capable woman in her fifties.
Zhao Qingzhu paid a decent wage, and the old lady repeatedly assured him that she would definitely work hard.
Before they even set off for the capital, the old lady had already been working at home for several days. Zhao Qingzhu realized the benefits and immediately suggested that her sister's family find one as well.
However, just like her previous answer to Song Yi, Zhao Qinglan had the money to hire someone but didn't have the idea.
Her children are all grown up, so there's no need to worry about her going out. She can always hire someone later if she really needs them.
After settling into their home, the two sisters set off together for the capital.
Ding Yu and Liu Dandan followed along again this time.
Looking at her sister's two new followers, Zhao Qingzhu clicked her tongue in amazement. She had never really felt that her sister was a big boss before, but now she really did.
They set off in mid-April, hoping to arrive in Beijing before their nephew's one-month celebration, so they could stay a few more days and attend the celebration before leaving.
In the past, when Zhao Qinglan went to the capital, either Zhang Yu or someone from her uncle's side would pick her up. This time, however, it was her aunt's side who picked her up.
Although Madam Sun returned to Hong Kong, she still left people and a car at her residence in Beijing.
Madam Sun frequently kept in touch with her brother and sister. Naturally, she informed them of the joyous occasion of Zhao Qingju giving birth, and they arranged for her to find an older aunt. She replied that she would come to the baby's one-month celebration.
Knowing that Zhao Qinglan and the others would be going to the capital ahead of time, Madam Sun instructed her people to take care of them.
After leaving the train station, the group got into a car, and the driver immediately asked them where they wanted to go.
As instructed by Madam Sun, she wanted her nieces to stay at her own residence. However, Zhao Qinglan already had a place to stay in the capital and was concerned about Old Master Dou, so she naturally went back to her own home.
After dropping them off, the driver told them to call the Sun residence anytime if they needed a car, as this was an instruction left by Madam Sun.
Seeing how much older Mr. Dou had become, Zhao Qinglan couldn't help but sigh.
"Grandpa Dou, thank you for watching over the house for us."
"No trouble at all, this is all the old bones of mine can do to help."
"Who are these two girls?" the old man asked, looking at Ding Yu and the others with a puzzled expression.
"Grandpa Dou, these are my subordinates, Ding Yu and Liu Dandan."
"Alright, alright, you're all good kids, come in quickly."
After arranging accommodations for Ding Yu and Liu Dandan, Zhao Qinglan went back to her room to rest.
After she recovered, she went into the kitchen and made some noodles. After the group ate, they set off to see her sister and nephew.
Although her aunt's driver told them to contact her anytime if they needed a ride, Zhao Qinglan didn't want to bother him. She hailed a taxi, took only Ding Yu with her, and set off for her sister's house.
I spoke with my mother on the phone before, and she knew that my younger sister had been discharged from the hospital and returned home not long after giving birth. My mother was also staying with my sister and taking care of her during her postpartum period.
When she opened the door and saw them, Mrs. Sun was very happy. "When did you arrive? Have you eaten? If not, Mom will cook for you."
"Mom, I just ate before we left, so don't bother. Let's go see Qingju."
The two sisters hung their coats by the door, washed their hands, and then went into the younger sister's bedroom.
Zhao Qingju had just finished breastfeeding her child and was about to come out when she heard the commotion outside when her sisters came in.
"Qingju, you look pretty good," Zhao Qinglan said with a smile.
"Let me hold my little nephew!" Zhao Qingzhu leaned closer to the bed to look at the little guy.
Zhao Qingju was also happy to see her sisters. "The child is very well-behaved. He only cries a few times when he's hungry or needs a diaper change. With Mom helping me and Yaohui helping when he comes back, I can be so carefree."
"Yaohui went to work today, right?" Zhao Qinglan asked.
“Yes, because I was giving birth, he took several days off, and I only managed to get him back to work a few days ago.” Zhao Qingju smiled sweetly when she mentioned her husband.
"Qingju, how are your mother-in-law and the others?" Zhao Qingzhu asked, holding the child and teasing him.
“It’s great. I couldn’t go to the shop when I was having a baby, but with my mom here, my mother-in-law and the others can come over once a day to check on the baby and keep an eye on the shop the rest of the time.”
"That's good." Zhao Qinglan nodded. Living together as a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can easily lead to conflicts. It's best to live at a distance that's neither too close nor too far.
"Sister, I heard from Mom that your supermarket has opened in Beijing?" Zhao Qingju asked curiously.
