The secretary glanced at Zhao Qinglan but did not answer immediately.
"Who sent the flowers? I'd like to know too," Zhao Qinglan repeated.
The secretary then spoke up. "It's Director Niu of the Third Garment Factory."
"Director Niu?" Zhao Qinglan muttered to herself before remembering who this person was.
He was the middle-aged man who was particularly enthusiastic towards her when she went to receive the award; he was also balding and had a beer belly.
The thought of the other person's appearance made her feel uncomfortable.
"You know her?" Li Huai asked, staring at his wife.
"Alright, you can go now." Zhao Qinglan waved to her secretary.
The secretary left quickly and closed the door behind her.
"I met him once when I went to receive the award, but we're not close," Zhao Qinglan answered honestly.
Hearing his wife's words, Li Huai felt a sense of relief, but then became serious again.
"Does this man not know you're married?"
"How would I know? Okay, I'll contact him and explain. Don't get jealous."
Li Huai was a little embarrassed and annoyed. "I'm your man."
"Yes, he's my man. I didn't do anything," Zhao Qinglan said innocently.
Li Huai had no choice but to say, "I'll pick you up after get off work. Don't wander off on your own."
"Okay, okay, I'm old enough to be lost. Alright, alright, hurry up and go. Aren't you going to work?" She started to shoo him away.
Li Huai then left, but as soon as he stepped outside, he put on a smiling face, making the employees who saw him feel as if they were bathed in a spring breeze.
Unmarried women in the company started discussing it.
"This is Mr. Zhao's wife. She's really beautiful."
"That's a soldier; his aura alone is different from ordinary people."
"Everyone says being a military wife is tough, but now I'm actually looking for someone like that."
"Oh my, you're so eager to get married!"
The girls burst into laughter, but after being glared at by their boss, they quickly got back to work.
Zhao Qinglan got busy with her work first, thinking that she would find the contact information she had written down later and call that Factory Manager Niu to make things clear.
Isn't this just needlessly disrupting the harmony of one's own family?
She had no ulterior motives; she just wanted her family to live a peaceful life.
She thought her husband had left the company to go to work, little did she know that Li Huai had gone to inquire about this Factory Manager Niu as soon as he left Lan Xin's office.
He has been transferred to the provincial capital for many years. Although he doesn't like to make friends in his daily life, he still has connections when it comes to investigating something.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before he learned about Director Niu's situation.
"This man went out to make a living a few years ago and had some money. The Third Garment Factory was not doing well, so he bought it. Although there were still some government employees involved, the factory was actually his."
"Ever since he became successful, this guy has been promiscuous and his reputation isn't very good."

The more Li Huai knew, the angrier he became.
He had been wondering if the factory manager was unaware that his wife was married, which was why he had acted so presumptuously. Apparently, the man didn't care about anything.
If someone dares to mess with me, I'd be looked down upon if I didn't show my power.
Li Huai quickly took a car to the Third Garment Factory.
As soon as his car arrived at the gate of the garment factory, the security guards were surprised.
Several veterans from the security department were filled with respect when they saw two men in military uniforms in the car. They were even more awe-inspiring when they saw Li Huai's rank.
"Who are you looking for?"
"I'm looking for your factory manager, Mr. Niu."
The attendant who was driving registered the car at the entrance, and then the car was let in directly. A security guard also got into the car to show the way.
The car stopped in front of the factory's office building, and the security guard respectfully led them to the factory director's office.
People who saw them at the factory all guessed what they were there for.
As soon as they reached the door, they heard strange noises coming from inside the office. The security guards knew exactly what was going on and blushed with embarrassment.
Li Huai's gaze grew increasingly cold and sharp. The orderly who knew him well only knew that the leader was very unhappy.
How could Li Huai not be angry that his wife was being targeted by such a guy? Seeing is believing, and now he just wanted to shoot this guy.
The one who led the way quickly knocked on the door. "Factory manager, someone is looking for you."
The voices inside didn't stop immediately; they continued for another ten seconds or so before an impatient question came from within: "Who is it?"
"He is a high-ranking officer in the military."
The door opened quickly, and when Director Niu saw the two men in military uniforms standing in front of the door, he immediately smiled.
"Hello, please come in."
As soon as Li Huai and his orderly entered, they smelled the odor, and there was a woman pretending to help organize the documents on the table.
Perhaps noticing Li Huai's unpleasant expression, Factory Director Niu coughed lightly and said, "Honestly, you never open the windows for ventilation, look what you've done to my office." As he spoke, he walked to the window and opened it, and the biting cold wind outside immediately rushed in.
"Go and make some good tea for the guests," Director Niu ordered. The woman left quickly, and the security guards also left with good sense.
Factory Director Niu then looked at Li Huai politely and asked, "May I ask who you two are looking for?"
Li Huai said to the orderly, "Go wait at the door."
"Yes, sir." The orderly immediately went outside and stood guard at the door.
He wasn't stupid; he had been following Li Huai around, asking around about this Factory Director Niu, and already knew why his boss had come.
"Do you know that disrupting a military marriage is illegal?" Li Huai sneered at Director Niu.
"This?" Factory Director Niu was unaware of Li Huai's identity. His mind raced. Had he slept with this man's wife? No way, he couldn't remember.
Director Niu had no idea who Zhao Qinglan was before. Even when he attended the conference, he didn't accept the award. But after seeing Zhao Qinglan, wicked thoughts started to surface.
She asked the people next to her, and someone said that Zhao Qinglan seemed to be married, but they didn't know who her husband was.
This factory manager assumed that Zhao Qinglan was either unmarried or, if married, that her husband was someone of questionable character, which was why no one knew. So, he brazenly sent flowers to her office.
He thought that if he couldn't win over a woman who was both rich and beautiful, he wouldn't lose anything. But if he could get something out of her, he would be making a huge profit. Who knows, they might even be able to form a powerful alliance in the future.
Perhaps it was because he had been doing well with money for the past few years that he became arrogant. Factory Director Niu didn't think he had a bad image in the eyes of outsiders and was quite confident in himself.
