Chapter 435 The Lost Child

When Zhao Qinglan and the others arrived home, she immediately took the old man to choose a house he liked.

There are quite a few empty rooms in the house, and she hopes that the old man can live comfortably and contentedly.

Once the house was settled, the whole family started helping to tidy up and arrange it.

Actually, each room is cleaned regularly and is quite tidy, but since the old man will be living here for an extended period, it's natural that we need to make sure it suits his lifestyle.

Seeing everyone in the family, young and old, busy taking care of him, Grandpa Dou was incredibly touched.

Li Huai went to work the day after he returned home.

Zhao Qingzhu also took the children home.

The streets were still bustling and lively during the first month of the lunar calendar.

When the Lantern Festival arrived, they learned that there were folk performances and temple fairs in the province, so the family made a pact to go out and enjoy the festivities together.

After having an early lunch, the family went out.

Now that there's an old man in their family, there's even less room in the car.

Fortunately, not only did Zhao Qinglan have a Mercedes, but Li Huai also got home early, so they could use the Jeep.

Ding Yu and Liu Dandan, who had already returned to work after their break, each drove their own car straight to their destination.

The car stopped some distance from the temple fair. After finding a suitable open space to park, the group walked towards the fair venue.

From afar, the sounds of gongs and drums could already be heard.

When we got to that street, the roadside was full of people, leaving only the open space in the middle of the road.

The troupe, complete with gongs, drums, and lion dances, performed in place for a while before moving forward.

Behind them were people on stilts, riding donkeys, dressed as Pigsy and Monkey King from Journey to the West, and some big-headed dolls shaking their heads.

Besides these, there were also decorated floats passing by, making it a very lively scene.

Zhao Qinglan and her group arrived at a good time; they found a great spot with a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery.

The old man was placed in the middle at the front to prevent him from being bumped or knocked over, and the third child, being the shortest, could only go to the very front.

"Third Brother, why don't you ride on my shoulders and I'll carry you to see?" Second Brother said affectionately.

"I'm here, you don't need me," the eldest child said helplessly.

However, the third brother was already somewhat concerned about his image, so he immediately shook his head, meaning he could only be seen from the very front.

"Mom, Mom, look at that!" Xiao Duo pointed excitedly into the distance.

Several people dressed as clowns swayed and jumped as they walked over, making faces and winking at the people around them. Wherever they went, they drew laughter from everyone.

Grandpa Dou hadn't experienced such a lively event in a long time, and the smile on his face never faded.

After this initial excitement subsides, the next stop will be the temple fair area, where there will be various snacks and street performances.

They had just eaten and weren't very hungry, but if they came across any snacks that interested them, they would still buy some to share with the family.

Ding Yu and Liu Dandan had divided the tasks and followed each other, one on the left and one on the right.

As I walked along, I saw a child standing there with tears in his eyes.

"Little friend, what's wrong?" Zhao Qinglan stepped forward, squatted down, and asked gently.

"I...I can't find my mother," the little girl sobbed.

Presumably, the little girl had gotten separated due to the large crowds at the temple fair. Zhao Qinglan quickly picked her up and carried her aside.

As she held the little girl, several people nearby stared at her for a few moments.

Zhao Qinglan immediately pointed to her husband. "My husband is a soldier, and I'm a military wife. Don't worry, we'll help look after the child, everything will be fine."

Li Huai was wearing a military uniform inside, but his wife had bought him a coat over it. When he heard what his wife said, he opened the coat to reveal the clothes underneath.

Sure enough, the man immediately felt relieved. "Soldiers, it's safest for us to leave you here."

"Big brother, second brother, look around and see if there are any lost children who are anxiously searching for them. We'll just stand here and not move."

Sanwa was too young, and Xiaoduo was a girl. There were too many people at the temple fair, and Zhao Qinglan was afraid that bad people might sneak in, so she could only send Dawa and Erwa out.

They are two young men, so even if there are human traffickers, they wouldn't look down on them, and they wouldn't dare to easily target young and strong guys like them, so the safety factor is high.

"Little girl, what's your name?" While waiting, Zhao Qinglan teased the little one in her arms.

"My name is Yunyun."

"How old are you this year?"

"Four years old." The little girl held up four fingers.

The little girl answered very obediently.

"Auntie, you're so pretty." Perhaps comforted by Zhao Qinglan and the others, the little girl stopped crying.

“Take the handkerchief out of my pocket,” Zhao Qinglan said to her husband.

But before Li Huai could move, Sanwa raised his hand. "Mom, use this." He held a clean handkerchief in his hand.

Zhao Qinglan took it and wiped Yunyun's face.

"How cute! Look how red her little face is from crying."

"Mom, you're getting tired of the old and looking for the new," Xiaoduo joked.

"Of course, Yunyun is so cute, why don't you go home with your auntie?"

"No, Yunyun wants her mother." The little girl took it seriously and immediately shook her head.

Although the little girl wasn't fat, Zhao Qinglan's arms ached after holding her for a while.

"Give me Qinglan." Li Huai reached out his hand.

"Yunyun, go down." Perhaps afraid of Li Huai, the little girl hid for a moment.

"Alright." Zhao Qinglan then put the little girl down.

She stood in front of Sanwa, looked up at him, and exclaimed in surprise, "Brother, you're so tall!" She even gestured to him.

Sanwa's face darkened. "You're only four years old, and I'm already ten, no, eleven." Although his eleventh birthday was still a long way off, he'd be considered eleven after the New Year.
