Chapter 474 A Worried Mother

When Zhao Qinglan arrived at the school, it seemed that classes had already ended.

She didn't know which classroom her daughter was in, so she could only stand downstairs at her daughter's dormitory with Ding Yu and the others and wait.

Although she didn't take her daughter to school, she asked her husband which building their daughter lived in before she arrived, and went straight to the dormitory building as soon as she entered the school.

As students passed by, Zhao Qinglan casually approached one and asked, "Excuse me, could you please call Li Xiaoduo? I'm her mother." She then added her daughter's department and room number.

The young woman was very enthusiastic and immediately agreed.

Xiao Duo was probably in her dorm since she didn't have class. After hearing what her helpful classmate said, she exclaimed in surprise, "Are you sure you're looking for me?"

"Are you Li Xiaoduo?"

"Yes, I am," Xiaoduo nodded repeatedly.

"That's you."

Xiao Duo thanked him and happily went downstairs.

Only a few of the other people in the dormitory had seen Li Huai and Da Wa before. None of them had seen Xiao Duo's mother. Out of curiosity, they all ran to the window.

Little Duo skipped and hopped over to her. "Mom, what brings you here?"

Zhao Qinglan patted her daughter's head. "What's wrong? Why won't you let your mother come see you?"

"Of course not, I'm just too happy."

"Mom came to Beijing to check on the branch stores and supermarket operations, and she took the opportunity to visit you." Actually, seeing her daughter and son was the main thing; checking on the stores was secondary.

"Mom, have you eaten? If not, I'll go to the cafeteria with you."

"No need, Mom isn't hungry."

Ding Yu and Liu Dandan were both carrying things in their hands.

“These are the food and things your mother brought for you; take them all back with you.”

"Mom is still the best to me." Xiao Duo said with a smile.

Upstairs, watching Xiao Duo acting coquettishly and talking to a beautiful woman, Zhao Qinglan's roommates were able to confirm her identity.

"No wonder Xiaoduo is so beautiful, it turns out it's because of her aunt."

“Xiaoduo’s dad is also very handsome,” said one of Li Huai’s roommates who had seen him.

"Both parents are good-looking, so it's normal for Xiaoduo to be so good-looking."

"Sigh, it's a pity my parents aren't very good-looking, and I haven't been able to surpass them."

After chatting for a while, Zhao Qinglan glanced at her watch. "You still need to rest, right? Then go upstairs. Mom will be staying in Beijing for several days. It's almost Sunday, and Mom will be waiting for you to have your holiday."

"I know, Mom."

Xiao Duo returned to her dormitory with both hands full. Her roommates were envious of her for bringing back so many things.

"Xiaoduo, your mother is so good to you."

"Auntie looks so young, just like your sister."

Hearing her roommates praise her mother, Xiaoduo felt happy and proud.

Yes, her mother is just that outstanding.

However, once things calmed down and she started packing, Xiaoduo suddenly remembered what had happened a few days ago and couldn't help but worry.

If her mother found out about that, wouldn't there be another big fight? She could only pray that her aunt, uncle, grandfather, and brother would keep quiet.

After seeing her daughter, Zhao Qinglan decided to go see Wei Hong first, and then go to her son's school the next day.

Judging by the timeline, Wei Hong's belly should be quite large by now.

Zhao Qinglan bought some more things on the way before heading to Wei Hong's house.

As Wei Hong's belly grew bigger, she went out less often and now spends most of her time at home resting during her pregnancy.

She was very happy when Zhao Qinglan suddenly came to visit.

Wei Hong's husband, Professor Lü, was away teaching at school, which gave the two of them a chance to have some private conversations.

Ding Yu and Liu Dandan were sent by Zhao Qinglan to wander around Wei Hong's house.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" Wei Hong said as she got up to pour water.

"You're so pregnant, why are you moving around so much? If I want water, I'll pour it myself. I'm not being polite with you." Zhao Qinglan pulled Wei Hong to sit down.

“It’s not that delicate.” Wei Hong said dismissively, then laughed. “My husband, Lao Lü, is the same way now, always making a fuss over nothing.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Qinglan laughed. "Isn't it just because he cares about you?"

Wei Hong looked sweet and happy.

Zhao Qinglan sat there for almost half an hour before leaving.

On the way back, she felt a pang of emotion. It's true that people need to meet the right person to settle down and live a good life. She was happy that Wei Hong was living a happy life, and now she hoped that her cousin Yun Xiang could also find his own happiness soon.

Zhao Qinglan certainly didn't waste her time during her trip to Beijing; she even visited several supermarket branches.

The next day, he took some more things to his sister's place.

Upon seeing her sister, Zhao Qingju was reminded of Xiao Duo's incident and couldn't help feeling a little guilty.

There was nothing she could do; she was afraid of her older sister, and this guilty conscience inevitably showed on her face.

She felt guilty, and Wei Yaohui felt even more guilty.

Before long, Zhao Qinglan sensed something was wrong. "Qingju, are you hiding something from me?"

Once asked, Zhao Qingju couldn't hide it anymore. "Sister, please don't be angry when I tell you."

"That depends on what it is," Zhao Qinglan said, somewhat puzzled.

It would be a lie to say Zhao Qinglan wasn't angry after Zhao Qingju finished speaking.

She didn't lash out at her sister, but looked directly at Wei Yaohui. "What does your Wei family mean by this?"

"Big sister, big sister, calm down. I didn't mean anything by it. I've already talked to my parents, and they won't do it again." Wei Yaohui quickly assured them.

"Why should they worry about my daughter? I, as her mother, am still alive and well."

"Yes, yes, they're just meddling in other people's business."

"It's good that Xiaoduo is alright. If even a single hair on my Xiaoduo's head were to be missing, I would never forgive you."
