"What is 'like'?" Zhou Yunting asked his friend like a curious child.
Lan Song smiled, looked at the sky, and began to describe it. "Liking someone means you always want to see them, you think about them from time to time, their every move makes you worry, you want to kiss them, hug them, and even tease them..."
"I would never bully her," Zhou Yunting retorted instinctively.
Looking at his friend, Lan Song raised an eyebrow. "Oh?" He then glanced at his friend's lower body. "Are you sure?"
Zhou Yunting then realized that the "bullying" his friend was talking about was not the "bullying" he understood, and his ears immediately turned red.
Perhaps because of Lan Song's vivid description, Zhou Yunting dreamed of Xiao Duo that night.
In her dream, he kissed her, hugged her, and even took advantage of her...
Upon waking up, the first thing he did was gather the sheets and blankets and throw them all into the washing machine. He insisted on watching over them until they were all washed, leaving the housekeepers looking on with a puzzled expression.
Sitting there alone, he pondered Lan Song's words again. After spending time together yesterday, he did indeed want to see her more and thought about her more. It seemed that he really liked her.
As he murmured the name Li Xiaoduo, a smile curved his lips.
He felt great liking someone; it was like a ray of light suddenly appearing in a bleak life, making life more interesting.
Yi Ningxiang noticed that her son had been acting strangely these past few days. She often saw him spacing out, and sometimes he would suddenly laugh.
This startled her; it's not easy to get her son to laugh. What happened?
When her son ate with her, she couldn't help but ask.
"Yun Ting, how have you been lately?"
Zhou Yunting was a little confused, but he nodded anyway. "I'm fine."
"Hey, if anything's wrong, don't keep it to yourself. You can tell Mom anything."
"I know, Mom."
Seeing that her son seemed to be really alright, Yi Ningxiang finally felt a little relieved.
As soon as Zhou Yunting finished his work at the company and came out, Lan Song asked him where he was going later.
"Nothing's arranged. Why?"
"By the way, how's things progressing between you and Xiaoduo lately?" Lan Song asked with concern.
Zhou Yunting shook his head.
"No progress at all?"
"That should be it."
"You haven't been seeing any girls since that dinner we had together, have you?"
Zhou Yunting nodded. Although he really wanted to see her, he didn't know what excuse to use, especially since he had such an intrusive dream about her, which made him feel even more ashamed.
Lan Song sighed and rubbed his forehead. "I say, brother, no wonder you've been single all these years. You're really something. You like a girl, but you don't make any move. You expect her to come to you?"
"What should we do then?" Zhou Yunting asked, adopting a pleading tone.
"Come on, come on, I'm going to teach you a lesson today."
Under Lan Song's training, Zhou Yunting learned a lot of new knowledge and realized that there is a lot to learn about pursuing girls and how to get along with them.
So, after receiving the training, he reappeared outside Xiaoduo's classroom with a bouquet of flowers.
When Xiaoduo and her classmates came out of the classroom, they heard someone exclaim how romantic and sweet it was.
When she realized that the person holding the flowers was Zhou Yunting and was smiling at her, she was completely stunned.
"Xiao Duo, these are flowers for you." Zhou Yunting stepped forward.
"Why did you send me flowers?"
"I want to pursue you. Don't you like flowers?" Zhou Yunting felt a little flustered.
Han Yi, who had just come over looking for Xiao Duo, turned cold upon seeing this scene.
"It's not that I don't like flowers, it's just that we're not familiar with each other."
“It’s okay, we’ll get to know each other after a few more dates,” Zhou Yunting replied naturally. Fortunately, Lan Song had taught him how to handle this situation.
"Ah, then let's leave here first." Seeing that more and more classmates were gathering around, Xiaoduo quickly pulled him away.
Unexpectedly, Han Yi walked out at that moment.
"Xiaoduo, where are you going?"
Seeing that Han Yi had also appeared, Xiao Duo immediately calmed down.
"I don't need to report to you where I go, do I?"
"It's not Xiaoduo, I just care about you. You know how I feel about you, how could you be with him?"
Xiao Duo's face also turned cold. "I've already made it clear to you that it's my personal freedom to want to be friends with you."
After she finished speaking, she turned around, but Han Yi tried to catch up and pull her away, but Zhou Yunting stopped him.
"She doesn't want to talk to you right now."
"You, Zhou Yunting, well done, you guys are something else." He pointed at Han Yi and left angrily.
Once Xiaoduo and Zhou Yunting were in a secluded spot, Zhou Yunting apologized with a dejected expression. "I'm sorry, it's all because of me."
"It's none of your business. Thank you for stopping him for me."
"You don't hate me, do you?" Zhou Yunting asked cautiously.
No.
"That's good. Can I still pursue you?"
Seeing his serious question, Xiaoduo just laughed.
But after laughing, she asked very seriously, "We've only met a few times, why are you pursuing me?"
"I really want to see you, and I always think about you. Lan Song said that this is what liking someone is, so I want to pursue you." Luckily, he hadn't lost his mind and said that he wanted to bully her, otherwise he would probably have been slapped in the face.
Xiao Duo blushed upon hearing his serious reply.
Even though Zhou Yunting didn't say anything sweet, she felt that he was much more serious and reliable than Han Yi.
"I don't even know you now, and do you know me?" Even though she didn't dislike Zhou Yunting, she didn't immediately agree in a moment of irrationality.
Dating is not something to be taken lightly; she needs to be careful.
"Then let's go on a few more dates. The more we meet, the better you'll understand me."
In foreign countries, it is perfectly normal to go on dates with someone you like, even if you haven't officially established a relationship.
Maybe I can give it a try.
After hesitating for a moment, Xiaoduo said, "I can get to know you better, but this doesn't count as a date yet."
"Okay, whatever you say." Zhou Yunting grinned foolishly.
Han Yi left angrily and soon contacted Wang Anni to go to a bar for drinks.
He started complaining when he was half-drunk.
"I'm so good to her, how come she can't see my feelings? Is her heart made of stone?"
Upon hearing Wang Anni's voice, she knew she was referring to Xiao Duo, and said insincerely, "Sigh, maybe it's just a misunderstanding."
"What misunderstanding? She's gone with another man!" Han Yi said angrily, tilting his head back to drink more wine.
"Alright, alright, drinking too much is bad for your health." Wang Anni snatched the wine glass from his hand.
Having drunk too much, Han Yi was no longer as vigilant as usual. When he regretfully revealed that he and Xiao Duo had never had any relationship, Wang Anni's eyes lit up.
When they left the bar, Wang Anni drove Han Yi home, but when they arrived, she wouldn't let Han Yi's roommate help him. Instead, she helped Han Yi into his room herself.
Once she went in, she never came out again.
Upon hearing the commotion coming from Han Yi's room, Han Yi's roommate gave a knowing smile that all men understand.
