Chapter 656 Confirming the Gratitude

As Zhao Qinglan looked at her son, Sanwa also saw his mother's car and sped over.

"Young man, I have nothing to say. Please stop following me."

Zhao Qinglan had already gotten out of the car.

Yunyun was rejected and couldn't get an answer, so she could only turn away in disappointment.

"Wait a minute, young lady," Zhao Qinglan called from behind.

Yunyun turned around.

"Mom, aren't we going home? Let's hurry up and go," Sanwa said, disagreeing.

Zhao Qinglan glanced at her son, then continued looking at Yunyun.

"Auntie, is there something you need?" Yunyun asked, puzzled.

"Are you one of our three, cough, Yan An's students? I'm his mother."

Yunyun actually knew beforehand; she overheard Zhao Qinglan bringing Sanwa over. "I haven't attended Professor Li's classes, but I am still a student."

"How did you and Yan An meet?" Zhao Qinglan asked, intrigued.

Sanwa seemed to be pulling his mother away, but he didn't dare to force her. He was just annoyed that he hadn't gotten rid of this somewhat troublesome female student on the way.

“I’ve attended Professor Li’s lectures,” Yunyun said honestly.

"Oh, that's it?" Zhao Qinglan felt that the girl in front of her and her son could talk to each other, so their relationship must be more than that, even though her son looked impatient.

"I discovered that Professor Li and I are from the same hometown," Yunyun said shyly.

"Oh, what a coincidence! We're from the same hometown. Where are you from, young lady?"

"From the provincial capital."

The two immediately started chatting.

Despite Zhao Qinglan's enthusiastic demeanor, she was actually trying to learn about Yunyun's background through conversation.

Although she was happy to see her youngest son with women around him, she didn't want them to be people with ulterior motives.

Yunyun usually seems quite clever, but her social experience is completely inadequate compared to Zhao Qinglan, a seasoned veteran.

The two chatted enthusiastically, while Sanwa, standing to the side, had a real headache.

How come women have so many topics to talk about, even though they're all worthless things?

Seeing that they were getting along well, Yunyun secretly glanced at Sanwa before asking, "Auntie, may I ask you something?"

"Yes, you can, tell me."

The third child wanted to stop her, but was stopped by a look from his mother.

"Um, has your family ever rescued a young girl who got lost at a temple fair in our provincial capital before?"

Zhao Qinglan was stunned by the unexpected question.

"Well, let me think about it, it seems there was such a thing," Zhao Qinglan recalled.

Because her family rarely went to temple fairs together, especially since they had saved someone that time, she still remembered it.

Upon receiving a positive answer, Yunyun jumped for joy.

“Auntie, I got lost at a temple fair when I was little. My mother said I was rescued by a family. I only remember a brother named Sanwa. I can’t remember the others very well. When you were seeing Professor Li off, I happened to hear you call Professor Li by his nickname. Since I knew you were from the same hometown, I thought it was a coincidence and wanted to ask you about it.”

Zhao Qinglan hadn't expected such a coincidence, and she recalled even more things.

"Your name?"

"My name is Yunyun."

The little girl from that year, I remember, was indeed called that name by her grandmother.

Unexpectedly, Zhao Qinglan's gaze towards Yunyun softened even more.

"That's really true, we're quite destined to meet."

Yunyun had been eager to find out the answer, but now that she has, she feels embarrassed.

"Auntie, you and Professor Li should go home now, so I won't bother you any longer."

Zhao Qinglan was a little surprised, but quickly smiled and said, "Okay, then see you again when you have the chance." As she spoke, she took out a business card from her bag.

"This is Auntie's contact information."

Her simple business card only had her name and phone number printed on it, without any title or position.

Yunyun took the business card, smiled, and said goodbye. "Goodbye, Auntie."

When he saw the third child standing to the side, he hesitated for a moment before saying, "Goodbye, Professor Li."

Sanwa didn't respond and got into the car directly.

Zhao Qinglan smiled at Yunyun before getting into the car.

Yunyun put the business card in her pocket and left with a silly grin.

In the car, Zhao Qinglan began to scold her son.

"Is it really necessary to keep such a stern face towards that young girl?"

"Mom, let's go home quickly," Sanwa changed the subject.

Zhao Qinglan smiled and didn't continue the discussion.

Yunyun rushed to class, and after class, she ran back to call home.

When she mentioned that one of the professors at her school was the same older brother who had helped her when she was a child, even her family members were moved to tears.

Unexpectedly, they met again in Guangzhou after so many years.

Yunyun's parents are kind and honest people. When they heard that their daughter had met her childhood benefactor at university, they immediately thought of doing something to repay him.

Of course, they didn't tell their daughter any of this on the phone.

Yunyun's roommate was curious and asked what she had been doing when she ran out. Thinking that it wasn't a secret, Yunyun excitedly shared what she had been doing.

"Oh, my childhood benefactor, we've met again. Yunyun, you're not going to repay me with your body, are you?"

"screw you."

The dormitory was in complete chaos.

Yunyun's roommates had never met Sanwa, so they didn't know how handsome Professor Li was; they were just joking around.

I don’t know if it was because she met her benefactor during the day that triggered her subconscious, but at night, Yunyun dreamed about her childhood.

In her dream, she kept talking to a miniature version of her brother, Sanwa, who looked impatient.

When Zhao Qinglan and the others returned home, they didn't take the matter too seriously.

However, Zhao Qinglan still brought it up in a casual chat with her husband that evening.

Li Huai was also somewhat surprised when he heard this.

"Are you sure it's the same little girl from back then?" He remembered her because he didn't have many opportunities to go out with his family.

"It's pretty close. They're from the same hometown, and the names match up. There's no way they could be impersonating each other. We're the ones helping them, and we don't owe them any favors."

"That's true, what a coincidence."

"That's right, you don't know how grumpy your son is, no wonder he can't find a girlfriend."

Li Huai smiled helplessly and said, "I wonder who he resembles."

"It's not me anyway."

"It wasn't me either."

"That's not necessarily true. You think you were so popular with girls when you were young?" He put on a stern face, just like his son now.

"It can't be that bad," Li Huai said sheepishly, but quickly retorted. "You don't necessarily want me to be popular with girls, do you?"

Zhao Qinglan immediately glanced at her husband. "You give it a try."

The elderly couple started bickering childishly again.

In the bedroom, Sanwa, who usually falls asleep quickly after lying down, suddenly thought about what happened during the day and tossed and turned in bed for a long time without being able to fall asleep.

Feeling somewhat agitated, he got up, found a book on physics theory, and began to read it.

Unexpectedly, the more he looked at it, the more energetic he became.

While eating breakfast, Zhao Qinglan noticed that her son had dark circles under his eyes and was yawning frequently.
