Chapter 664 Promotion and Moving

The pandemic made Zhao Qinglan's family realize how precious it is for their family to be safe and happy.

This time, Da Wa and his family are coming back and plan to stay at home for a few more days to make up for the regret of not being able to reunite as a family during the Spring Festival.

Even if the family just eats together and talks, Zhao Qinglan and Li Huai feel very content.

After the adults left one by one for work, Jin'er and her two friends stayed behind to enjoy their summer vacation.

This wasn't the first year, and Zhao Qinglan was already quite familiar with the process.

Their three grandchildren are all exceptionally good-looking; even when they run around the residential area, it's a rare sight to be seen by others.

The second generation in the family is already outstanding, and the third generation is visibly growing up.

If the third generation can also succeed, their family will be truly established.

Many people secretly admired and envied them, and many wanted to build good relationships with their grandchildren and Jin'er beforehand.

Even if they knew some people had ulterior motives, as long as they didn't actually use them to scheme against their own children, Zhao Qinglan and Li Huai were too lazy to pay attention or interfere.

The children are still young, and we don't want them to know the cruelty of society too early. Let's preserve their innocent and happy childhood for a few more years.

Jin'er and the others also felt particularly happy to come to Guangzhou every summer vacation.

When the holiday ended, the three children reluctantly returned home.

With the start of the new school year, Sanwa also resumed his school journey.

When students see him again in class, they always feel a sense of relief and warmth, as if they have survived a disaster.

His classes became lively and popular again, and Yunyun no longer had the chance to audit them, because everyone was no longer wearing masks, and she could no longer blend in.

Her longing and love meant that she could only catch a glimpse of Professor Li from afar, according to the schedule of his classes.

She didn't know what would happen after graduation; she just wanted to stay as close to the people she liked as possible while she was still in school.

After the children's summer vacation ended, Zhao Qinglan first went to Beijing to visit her mother, uncle, and others, and then invited her two younger sisters to go on a relaxing trip.

The pandemic has made people see many things more clearly and cherish the hard-won life they have now. Living well and enjoying life is what she will pursue in the future.

She doesn't concern herself with anything in the group company that doesn't require her direct involvement, effectively becoming a hands-off manager.

She was born in 1953, and is now fifty years old. It's only natural that she should be enjoying a comfortable retirement.

Li Huai was naturally envious of his wife's carefree life, but he could only keep his head down and work.

After returning to China for so long, Sanwa finally made a major theoretical discovery and published a very influential paper, which further elevated his status in the physics community.

The news spread throughout Guangzhou University. While Yunyun was happy for the person she liked, she also felt that she might be getting further away from Professor Li.

After the start of the new semester, she stopped her part-time job and began to study hard.

She didn't know how far she could go, she just hoped that she wouldn't be too bad and be pulled further and further away by Professor Li.

Spring, summer, autumn, and winter, the four seasons change, and in the blink of an eye, it's already 2005.

"Yunyun, are you nervous about your thesis defense? I'm so nervous!" Yunyun's roommate's palms were sweating.

Yunyun, who had changed quite a bit, smiled. "When you're defending your thesis later, just treat yourself as if you're acting. Treat yourself and your teachers as actors, and try your best to play your roles well."

"Sigh, Yunyun, I really admire you. You were so outstanding in your freshman and sophomore years, but in your junior and senior years, you were working like a workaholic, and your grades and GPA kept rising. If it weren't for your grades in your freshman and sophomore years dragging you down, you probably could have been awarded an outstanding graduate."

Yunyun smiled. She blamed no one; it was just that she hadn't tried hard enough back then.

She was among the top students in her junior and senior years, but because her grades in her freshman and sophomore years were only average, her average grades were only above average.

But her hard work over the past two years has also brought her many rewards. It was tough, but it was well worth it.

She only regretted that she realized it too late.

She kept the person who inspired her to keep moving forward in her heart.

For several years, her roommates and close classmates have been unaware that she has someone she likes so much that she dares not bother him.

"Xie Yunyun, it's your turn."

Hearing her name called, Yunyun took a deep breath, smiled, and pushed open the door to enter.

Yunyun's defense was very successful. Although she did not receive the title of outstanding graduate, her thesis was still among the outstanding theses.

Just as Yunyun and her roommates were happily discussing where to go together after taking graduation photos, a phone call came from home.

"Yunyun." Her mother's sobbing voice came through the phone.

Yunyun panicked for a moment.

"Mom, what's wrong? Tell me slowly."

After finally finishing his overtime work, Sanwa saw that it was late at night and he didn't plan to go home. He drove out and bought some late-night snacks, which he then took back to his dormitory at work.

Although he doesn't live here often, he always keeps it clean.

He bought the car a year ago without any help from his family; he bought it with his own savings and bonuses.

I was eating while reading an academic report when my phone vibrated.

He took a look.

"Professor Li, may you have peace, joy, and a smooth life."

Sanwa frowned slightly at the unfamiliar number.

Judging from the address, it's most likely a student who took his class. But why send such a blessing out of the blue, when it's neither a holiday nor a festival?

The text message only took him a few seconds to think before he turned his attention back to his bachelor's thesis.

On the train, after sending the text message, Yunyun pressed the key and deleted the number she was most reluctant to part with.
