"Sister Wei Hong." She quickly ran over.
"Qinglan, what brings you here?" Wei Hong was quite surprised.
“I heard from Sister Wu Mei that you went to the hospital for a check-up, and I was worried, so I came to find you.” She thoughtfully avoided mentioning any arguments or fights.
Although Wei Hong was also puzzled as to how Sister-in-law Wu Mei knew about her trip to the hospital, she was still somewhat grateful to see how much Zhao Qinglan cared for her.
Seeing Zhao Qinglan, she also found someone to confide in.
"Qinglan, the doctor told me to come back in a couple of days to pick up the test results. Do you think there might actually be something wrong with my health?" she asked, her face full of worry.
"Wei Hong, let's not worry unnecessarily. It's best if there's no problem. But even if there is, we're not afraid. The sooner we find out, the sooner we can treat it. Don't you think that makes sense?" Zhao Qinglan quickly comforted her.
"Qinglan, thank you." Thank you for pushing me to take this step, and thank you for coming to keep me company when I was all alone and helpless, coming for a check-up.
"Now that the inspection is over, let's go back. The car is still waiting outside. Sister Wu Mei is worried about you."
After saying that, she helped Wei Hong out of the military hospital.
Qu Jiansheren had just stepped out of the regimental commander's office when he bumped into Yang Qingmin.
Yang Qingmin held a higher rank than him, and upon seeing him, he first greeted him with a military salute. "Deputy Regiment Commander Yang."
"Battalion Commander Qu, what does the regimental commander want with you?"
Qu Jianshe gave a wry smile. "It's nothing, just a little thing at home."
"Why would the regimental commander need to talk to you about your family matters? Shouldn't the political commissar be the one to talk to you?"
"I'm leaving now, Deputy Regiment Commander Yang." Qu Jianshe wasn't stupid; he didn't answer Yang Qingmin's question.
This is a private matter for his family, and it's not exactly something to be proud of, so he doesn't want too many people to know about it.
Yang Qingmin thought that Li Huai's house was right next to Battalion Commander Qu's house, and he couldn't help but imagine Li Huai's happy mood that morning.
Could it be that there's some kind of relationship between these two?
Li Huai was happy, but Qu Jianshe was not. If the two of them were not on good terms, wouldn't it be possible for Yang Qingmin to win over Qu Jianshe? Yang Qingmin began to think about this.
On the bus, because there was a young soldier driving, Zhao Qinglan didn't discuss her sensitive issues with Wei Hong, but just chatted about other things.
Yesterday, Wei Hong's heart sank to the bottom after being yelled at and slapped by her husband.
She felt even worse after spending the whole night in the freezing office without her husband showing up.
After a difficult trip to the hospital for a check-up, Wei Hong even wondered what the point of her marriage was—was it just to have children?
The couple's relationship had always been good, so how did it suddenly turn out like this because of the child?
Zhao Qinglan's arrival, and the fact that she's talking to her now, has gradually eased her despair.
Fearing that parking the car outside their house would be too conspicuous, Wei Hong and Zhao Qinglan got out of the Jeep when it arrived at the gate of the residential area.
The two walked to their home.
Wu Meiren was sitting at Zhao Qinglan's house, watching over the children.
Hearing the sound of a door opening outside, the person quickly ran out.
Upon seeing Wei Hong, she began to look her up and down. "Are you alright?"
"Sister-in-law, I'm fine. I'm sorry to have worried you." Wei Hong smiled.
On the way from the entrance of the family quarters, Zhao Qinglan had already told Wei Hong and Wu Mei how she found out about it.
Wei Hong was very grateful to Wu Mei and Zhao Qinglan, and felt fortunate to have them as her neighbors.
Wu Mei and Zhao Qinglan accompanied Wei Hong into the house and sat down.
Wu Mei couldn't help but start nagging.
"This couple always fights in bed and makes up in bed. But if Battalion Commander Qu bullies you again, just tell me, and your wife will stand up for you. He's gone too far; he even dares to hit people."
“Sister-in-law, actually, I went to the hospital not because I was beaten. He slapped me and I ran away. I went to the hospital for a checkup,” Wei Hong explained.
"What kind of examination?" Wu Mei asked, puzzled.
“Sister-in-law, we haven’t had a child yet, so I was thinking of getting checked out with my husband, but he wasn’t willing, so in the end I had to go by myself.”
Wu Mei and Zhao Qinglan looked at each other in surprise, even though Zhao Qinglan had already guessed some of what was going on.
"Then why isn't he happy?" Wu Mei asked.
Wei Hong smiled helplessly. "He's just too proud, afraid of losing face, and thinks he's definitely not the problem, so if there's a problem, it can only be me."
Hearing this, Zhao Qinglan was speechless. This Battalion Commander Qu seemed alright on the surface, but she never expected him to be like this in secret.
Is this child something that one person can give birth to?
Wanting a child but not cooperating? What kind of person is that?!
If you're capable and ambitious, then don't pressure your wife to have a baby.
He puts all the pressure on his wife, but he doesn't take any responsibility as a man. He's truly despicable.
Wu Mei also began to have some opinions about Battalion Commander Qu.
However, neither of them could say too much in front of Wei Hong.
“Sister Wei Hong, no matter what, you’ve already had the checkup. When the results come out, you’ll be fine. If your Battalion Commander Qu brings up having a baby again, just let him figure it out himself,” Zhao Qinglan said angrily.
“Exactly, those men only provide the basics, they don’t care about childbirth or childcare at all. Do they think we women want to have children? They all act like they’re the bosses.” Wu Mei also sneered.
Hearing that both of them were thinking of her, Wei Hong felt a warmth in her heart.
The sisterhood among the three of them was gradually strengthened through this incident.
The three chatted for quite a while until Wu Mei and Zhao Qinglan said they had to go back to cook, and then they decided to part ways.
However, Zhao Qinglan suggested that since Wei Hong and Wu Mei were eating alone anyway, they should go to her house and she would show them her cooking skills.
