"Yan Sen, Yan Sen!" Cheng Tao shook his arm excitedly.
"Oh." The eldest child snapped out of his daze.
"Did you hear that? You're second in the entire district."
"I heard you." The eldest child smiled brightly.
Although Cheng Tao's grades weren't as good as Da Wa's, perhaps it's a case of being influenced by one's surroundings, he also just managed to break into the top 100 in the entire district.
The eldest son did so well on the exam that the teacher called him over for a chat. When the teacher learned that he was going to study in the provincial capital for high school, the teacher was not surprised at all.
The teacher was aware of the family situation of the top student, Da Wa. His parents were now in the provincial capital, so it was only right that he went to high school there.
Being able to finish junior high school in the region and even rank second in the entire district has already brought her, as the homeroom teacher, countless honors.
The students in the class looked at the eldest child with envy and admiration.
Da Wa didn't plan to stay at school any longer. He looked up and saw that it was almost lunchtime, so he asked Cheng Tao, "I'm going home for lunch. What about you?"
"Do I even need to ask? Of course I'm going to mooch a meal with you." Cheng Tao said matter-of-factly.
"Aren't you going to tell your aunt and uncle your high school entrance exam results?"
"They're not home, they're still at work. I can't exactly go to their workplace, can I? No rush, they'll find out when I get home tonight."
"Okay, let's hurry up and go. My mom must be waiting at home."
"Let's go, let's go, I wonder what Aunt Zhao has made for us today."
The two quickly left the school.
When Shen Fangfei heard that Da Wa had ranked second in the region, she came to congratulate him, but he was already gone. However, remembering that Da Wa had said he would give her the answer later, she became hopeful again.
As soon as Da Wa and the others entered the house, Zhao Qinglan, hearing the commotion, ran out with a spatula in her hand.
"How's it going? Have the results come out yet?" she asked nervously.
"I'm out, Mom! I'm second in the whole district!" the eldest child said proudly.
This is also the most glorious moment of his life so far.
"That's great, that's great! How's Cheng Tao?" She then looked to the side.
"Aunt Zhao, I did pretty well on the exam too. I ranked ninety-eighth in the whole district," Cheng Tao said with a grin.
"That's great. You wait here, I'll cook you a few more good dishes."
"Oh, long live Mom!" Erwa immediately cheered.
Xiao Duo and the others were very happy to hear that their older brother and Cheng Tao had done so well on the exam.
After happily finishing her meal, Zhao Qinglan hurried to her office.
There's a phone in the office, so she'll have to make a few calls. First, she needs to tell her husband, then her child's maternal grandmother, and also her uncle and younger sister in Beijing.
When Li Huai learned that his son had ranked second in the district in the high school entrance exam, he immediately burst into laughter in his office. After hanging up the phone, he couldn't help but go out to show off to his colleagues.
This is his son, and he, as a father, is proud of his son's excellence.
Everyone was happy for Da Wa, and Uncle Sun even said he would send Da Wa a gift as well.
Zhao Qinglan plans to find some time to have a meal with her family and friends to celebrate her eldest child's arrival.
After Cheng Tao left when it got dark, Zhao Qinglan suddenly remembered that she and her eldest son had a heart-to-heart talk.
"Big brother, come here to Mom, let's have a chat."
The eldest child was puzzled, but still went as instructed.
"You guys, go do what you're supposed to do." Zhao Qinglan chased Erwa and the others away.
After the other children left, she started talking to the eldest child.
"Da Wa, what did you do in the end about that girl named Fang Fei?"
Why is Mom bringing this up again? The eldest child felt hopeless, but still forced himself to say, "It hasn't been dealt with yet."
"Huh? You're just going to keep dragging this on?"
The older child nodded.
Zhao Qinglan was at a loss. "Big son, let me ask you something first, do you like that Fangfei?" If her son liked her too, then she would have to change her approach.
Although she is quite open-minded, her son is still very young, and his studies are the most important thing right now.
"I don't like it, but I don't hate it either," Da Wa said hesitantly.
Hearing her son's answer, Zhao Qinglan breathed a sigh of relief. As long as he didn't like it, it would be easy to handle.
"Whether you like someone or not, you can't drag things out like this, understand?" Otherwise, if you keep stringing a girl along, she might think there's still hope.
Although it would be cruel to directly refuse to give someone the "friend card," what she hates most is the behavior of keeping someone hanging on even though you know there's no future for them.
She only remembered that there were many such people in her past and future lives.
People are becoming more and more free to date, but there are also more people who are juggling multiple relationships or have a bunch of backup options.
"Mm." The older child nodded.
"If you don't like someone, make it clear to the girl, express it tactfully, and don't hurt her feelings. Just say that Rebird is actually a good person, but you both feel that you are still young and haven't thought about dating. Right now, your most important thing is to study. That's roughly the idea. Do you know how to say it?"
Her son can be quite a straight man at times, just like his father Li Huai. However, her husband has improved a lot now, while her son still needs to study and work hard.
Either her son is good-looking and outstanding, so she doesn't have to worry about no girls liking him in the future; otherwise, she'll really worry about his future marriage.
The older child looked like he had just learned something. "Mom, I understand."
Although Da Wa was troubled that a girl liked him, and that girl was quite pretty, he also felt a sense of satisfaction and secret joy.
He was indeed worried about how to resolve this matter, but now, with his mother's guidance, he has seen the light at the end of the tunnel.
Seeing that the eldest child seemed to have truly understood, Zhao Qinglan felt a great sense of accomplishment.
