Chapter 115 Father and Son Clash

After standing up, she quickly straightened her clothes and smoothed her hair before walking out.

Da Wa and Xiao Duo followed curiously outside.

Just as Sun Shengli pointed out to Li Zhenhua which house belonged to Li Huai, he saw a chubby-faced little boy peering out from the doorway.

"Hey, sir, that kid is Erwa."

It turned out to be his grandson. Li Zhenhua's heart softened instantly.

When Li Zhenhua and the others reached the door, Zhao Qinglan and the children also walked to the door.

Seeing Sun Shengli accompanying her, and then looking at the man's appearance, Zhao Qinglan knew that this was her father-in-law, Li Zhenhua.

Although she had never met her father-in-law, Li Zhenhua, in either of her lives, she had seen his photos.

"Qinglan, this is Li Huai's father." Sun Shengli realized he had misspoke as soon as he finished introducing them. They were family, why was he introducing them like that?

He quickly tried to save face, saying, "Well, I'll go back to work now. If you need anything, just let me know."

Li Zhenhua nodded absentmindedly, then looked at his bodyguard, the military personnel accompanying him, and the driver, as if remembering something.

"Commander Sun, could you please find a place for these few to stay?"

"That's true. They're family meeting, so they probably don't want too many outsiders around," Sun Shengli nodded knowingly. "Don't worry, Chief, leave everything to me."

After all the other people had left, Li Zhenhua turned to look at Zhao Qinglan.

"Go in."

Zhao Qinglan didn't call him "Dad," but just turned around and walked ahead.

After Li Zhenhua entered the house, she went to get a cup and pour water.

The three children all looked at Li Zhenhua with curiosity.

"Are you my grandfather?" Erwa asked.

Li Zhenhua smiled as soon as he heard "Grandpa".

“Yes, I’m Grandpa. Come over here and let Grandpa take a look.” Li Zhenhua waved.

Erwa was somewhat disappointed to see that he had nothing in his hands.

"Are you really my grandfather?" Erwa asked again.

“Yes, I am your grandfather.” Li Zhenhua didn’t find it strange to be asked again.

Erwa frowned. "You're my grandpa, why didn't you bring me any good food?" He had been looking forward to it for so long.

Upon hearing this, Li Zhenhua immediately felt embarrassed.

"Erwa!" Zhao Qinglan quickly stopped Erwa from saying anything more shocking.

“All he does all day is eat,” she explained to the embarrassed Li Zhenhua.

He was already feeling awkward, but hearing his daughter-in-law talk about his grandson like that made Li Zhenhua unhappy again. "Being able to eat is a blessing."

Erwa stuck out his tongue and sat down.

Li Zhenhua then looked at his eldest grandson, who hadn't spoken yet. "You're Da Wa, come here and let Grandpa take a look."

The eldest child obediently walked over.

Xiao Duo was completely ignored by Li Zhenhua.

However, Xiao Duo knew that this was the grandfather of Da Wa and Er Wa, and she didn't think anything of it since Li Zhenhua ignored her.

However, even though Zhao Qinglan could understand Li Zhenhua's obvious differential treatment, she still felt a little uncomfortable and immediately called her daughter aside.

"Xiaoduo, run an errand for Mom and go to the grocery store to buy a bag of salt."

Xiao Duo took the money and ran away.

When Erwa saw that his grandfather hadn't brought any treats, he immediately lost interest in him and wanted to go to the grocery store with Xiaoduo.

Zhao Qinglan didn't hold her back; if she wanted to go, then they could go together.

With his eldest grandson around, Li Zhenhua didn't stop his younger grandson from going out temporarily.

He started asking the older child all sorts of questions.

Whether you eat well or sleep well.

No matter what Li Zhenhua asked, Da Wa just nodded.

Seeing that his eldest grandson remained silent, Li Zhenhua became puzzled. Could there be something wrong with his eldest grandson?

Thinking this, he looked at Zhao Qinglan beside him.

Perhaps sensing his confusion, Zhao Qinglan explained, "Da Wa lost a front tooth, so he tries not to talk as much as possible."

Unexpectedly, it was for this reason. After a moment of surprise, Li Zhenhua burst into laughter.

"What's there for a boy to be shy about?"

"Mom." Da Wa looked at Zhao Qinglan with a slightly embarrassed expression.

Zhao Qinglan laughed too. "What, you're not planning to say anything today?"

When Li Zhenhua heard his grandson call Zhao Qinglan "Mom," the smile on his face suddenly vanished.

“Big kid, go play. Your mother and I have something to talk about,” Li Zhenhua suddenly said.

The eldest son was simply curious about his grandfather whom he had never met. Upon hearing this, he simply nodded and said, "Then I'll go find the second son." With that, he ran out of the house.

Suddenly, only Li Zhenhua and Zhao Qinglan remained in the room.

It seemed the main event was about to begin, and Zhao Qinglan immediately sat up straight.

"How did you and Li Huai meet?" Li Zhenhua asked seriously.

“One of Regiment Commander Sun Shengli’s old comrades-in-arms is from our side. I’m familiar with his wife, and they introduced us,” she said succinctly.

So that's how it is. He said that his son had suddenly found a divorced woman with a child from so far away.

Knowing that Sun Shengli was the one who introduced him, but unaware of the inside story, he couldn't help but have some reservations about Sun Shengli.

So you're introducing this to his son? He doesn't seem to think it's difficult for his son, who is divorced and has two grandsons, to remarry.

Seeing that Li Zhenhua didn't seem too satisfied with her, Zhao Qinglan didn't say anything.

She kept telling herself that as long as the other party didn't go too far, she would tolerate it for the time being, mainly because she didn't want to put Li Huai in a difficult position.

"I heard you brought your family along too?" Li Zhenhua wasn't too happy about that.

Zhao Qinglan looked up in surprise. How did Li Zhenhua know this?

Before she could ask, Li Zhenhua continued, "Since you chose to marry Li Huai, you should be a good wife and not bring all your relatives from your family here. Wouldn't that just cause trouble for Li Huai?"

Zhao Qinglan was a little unhappy about being criticized, but she didn't say anything. She kept telling herself to hold back and not to argue with the other party. After all, how her family lived was not up to Li Zhenhua, her father-in-law.

Seeing that she remained silent, Li Zhenhua became somewhat displeased.

“I’m talking to you, and you haven’t said a word. Don’t you even know the most basic manners? You really have no manners.” His wife’s worries were justified.

Well, she couldn't resist anymore.

Before Zhao Qinglan could even speak, an unhappy response came from outside.

"Is it your manners and upbringing to go to someone else's house and criticize the host?" Li Huai walked in with a cold face.

After hesitating in the office for a while, he happened to see the regimental commander return, so he quickly asked him and learned that his father had gone straight to his house.

Fearing that Zhao Qinglan would be at a disadvantage in front of his father, he hurriedly ran back.

He had barely entered the courtyard when he heard that remark; no wonder he was unhappy.

"Li Huai, I'm your father, how dare you talk to me like that?" Li Zhenhua said unhappily.

"Those who know you will say you're my father, but those who don't will think you're some otherworldly deity," Li Huai said sarcastically.

Goodness, Zhao Qinglan almost burst out laughing.

"Li Huai!" Li Zhenhua was furious and embarrassed.
