Fu Wenzhou gently wiped away the tears from Song Qingyou's eyes, his voice hoarse: "It's alright, don't worry."
The sound of an ambulance rang out outside the iron gate. The police first put the unconscious and severely blood-loss-prone Song Chen onto a stretcher, then turned back to find the man who looked like a ghost: "Mr. Fu, shall we go to the hospital first?"
Song Qingyou struggled out of his arms and reached out to pull Fu Wenzhou up, "Let's go...to the hospital."
She was weak and couldn't pull Fu Wenzhou up. The man could only stand up by supporting himself with one hand on the pillar behind him. The fabric and blood were stuck together, and it hurt to move even slightly.
Fu Wenzhou hissed, and Song Qingyou hurriedly looked up, her eyelashes trembling: "Does it hurt? Does it hurt a lot?"
Fu Wenzhou pinched Song Qingyou's earlobe. "It doesn't hurt."
The medical staff behind them didn't dare to delay and put Fu Wenzhou into the ambulance, and Song Qingyou went to the hospital with him.
When Fu Wenzhou was taken to the operating room, Song Qingyou was waiting outside. The doctor advised her to get checked, but she was unmoved and only said that she was fine.
Song Chang also couldn't persuade him.
Unfortunately, the doctor could only treat her neck wound briefly. Fortunately, it wasn't a serious problem; her injury was much better than the two people lying inside.
Xu Zezhan and Gu Bai arrived halfway through the surgery.
Before they arrived, the two had already figured out what was going on. Gu Bai was so angry that he wanted to kill Song Chen with his own hands, but Xu Zezhan stopped him.
"Alright, why are you getting involved? The police will handle Song Chen's case."
Gu Bai was furious: "That was two stabs! If they had gone any deeper, his leg would have been ruined!"
Xu Zezhan glanced at Song Qingyou and saw that she was pale and sitting there without saying a word. He pulled Gu Bai to sit down next to him, patted Gu Bai's back with one hand and handed Song Qingyou medicine and water with the other: "I ran into Uncle Chang downstairs. He asked me to bring this to you."
Song Qingyou took the medicine, swallowed it, and her eyes revealed no emotion.
Fifteen minutes later, Liang Muchuan and Shen Guannan arrived.
One group of people came and another group left, but Song Qingyou remained quietly seated on the bench. The cold wind blew into her lungs, and she coughed several times before stopping.
Liang Muchuan finished a cigarette at the top of the stairs, his gaze drifting seemingly to Song Qingyou. After a while, he put out the cigarette, took off his coat and draped it over his arm as he walked toward the operating room door.
When Gu Bai saw him coming over, he said directly, "Didn't you go to see Song Chen? Is that kid dead or not?"
Liang Muchuan glanced at Song Qingyou and said indifferently, "She's still being treated."
"Damn it!" Gu Bai cursed, "Why didn't you kill him?"
Xu Zezhan reached out and slapped Gu Bai on the back of the head: "Killing Wenzhou should land you in jail. Do you really think this capital city is your home?"
Gu Bai held his breath and didn't say another word.
Liang Muchuan lowered his head and handed over the coat: "It's cold today, wear this first."
Song Qingyou was slow to react, a beat slower than usual. "Thank you, but no need."
Liang Muchuan frowned slightly, twitched his lips, and withdrew his hand.
Xu Zezhan's gaze lingered on Liang Muchuan for a moment, his expression unreadable.
The operating room lights suddenly went out, the door was pushed open from the inside, and the doctor came out.
Song Qingyou stood up in a panic. She had never been this scared, not even when Song Yuan had whipped her before. "Doctor, his leg... is his leg alright?"
The doctor took off his mask: "The incision wasn't deep and didn't damage any meridians. As long as you rest well for a while, there shouldn't be any problems."
Song Qingyou finally felt relieved, as if all her strength had been drained, and slumped against the white wall of the hospital.
Fu Wenzhou was taken to a VIP ward. Xu Zezhan, Liang Muchuan, and Gu Bai went upstairs to see him, while Song Qingyou took the bill to pay the fees.
She stubbornly refused to let anyone else do it, and instead did it all herself.
In the elevator, Gu Bai scratched his head, puzzled: "Why can't we just ask someone else to do this little thing? Why do we have to run around with the form ourselves?"
Xu Zezhan glanced at Liang Muchuan and then smiled, "In hospitals, it's usually the family members who pay the bills. Our great lover has finally made it after all these years of hard work."
Liang Muchuan scoffed, knowing that Xu Zezhan was deliberately using those words to provoke him, and didn't bother to respond.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Liang Muchuan stepped out.
Gu Bai: "What's wrong with him? Who upset him?"
Xu Zezhan didn't explain and followed him inside.
Fu Wenzhou was only partially anesthetized and was still relatively conscious. When he heard a noise at the door, his eyes lit up, but then went dark when he saw who it was.
He frowned and said with disdain, "Why is it you guys?"
Gu Bai said irritably, "Yes, it's us, not Song Qingyou."
Fu Wenzhou asked directly, "Where's my Youyou?"
"I went to pay your bill." Xu Zezhan lifted the blanket and glanced at his bandaged leg wound. "Goodness, the bandages on both legs are quite symmetrical. Tsk, you really are willing to risk your life for Song Qingyou."
Fu Wenzhou brushed his hand away, looking nonchalant: "Do you know why Youyou insists on doing even such small things herself?"
The three people in front of the hospital bed exchanged glances, their eyes conveying a clear meaning.
Someone is about to start again.
Xu Zezhan replied cooperatively, "Why?"
Fu Wenzhou's lips curled up, his tone smug: "Family member, because I'm her family member. Heh, you single dogs wouldn't understand even if I told you."
Gu Bai took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to beat up Fu Wenzhou, mainly because he couldn't beat him.
The three of them stayed in the ward for a while. Fu Wenzhou became increasingly anxious, glancing towards the door every now and then.
"Gu Bai, go find Youyou. She might be lost." Fu Wenzhou frowned with concern.
