Chapter 207 Class Reunion

Just as the two were getting intimate, their cell phone rang at an inopportune moment.

Song Qingyou pushed Fu Wenzhou away, patted his head gently to comfort him, and turned to answer the phone: "Yan Miao? What's wrong?"

Yan Miao said, "I'm hosting a class reunion on Friday night, why don't you come?"

Upon hearing this, Song Qingyou refused without hesitation: "Forget it, I don't really want to go, and I have to go to Dingsheng on Friday."

Yan Miao exclaimed, "Oh dear! They're all classmates from medical school, and both Shen Qiwen and Qin Zhou, those two big shots, have returned from studying abroad. I remember Shen Qiwen even pursued you back then. It's been several years now, don't you want to see them?"

Song Qingyou glanced at Fu Wenzhou, covered the receiver as if afraid he would hear her, and walked a few steps away, lowering her voice to say, "Don't talk nonsense, Fu Wenzhou is right here."

Yan Miao was stunned for a moment: "Why is he always sticking to you all the time?"

Song Qingyou rubbed her temples. "Cough... not every day, right?"

Behind her, Fu Wenzhou squinted and asked, "Youyou, who are you chatting with?"

Song Qingyou turned her head: "Yan Miao."

Fu Wenzhou asked suspiciously, "Is she talking badly about me?"

Song Qingyou almost choked: "No, she said there's a classmate reunion on Friday and asked if I wanted to go."

During Song Qingyou's two years of university, Fu Wenzhou was abroad and was absent from her life experiences. He wanted to be involved in and know about every aspect of Song Qingyou's life.

Fu Wenzhou's Adam's apple bobbed: "Go, Youyou."

"I'm not going," Song Qingyou shook her head again.

I chatted with Yan Miao for a few more minutes on the phone before hanging up.

Spring is the season when all things come back to life.

As the sun gradually approached the horizon, the floating clouds on the horizon almost touched the rooftops of the city. Song Qingyou finished turning the last page of her medical book, tidied her desk, and sent the Dingsheng project proposal, which she had spent half a month writing, to Yan Shaoqin.

After finishing all this, Song Qingyou stretched, stood up, opened the window, and took a breath of fresh air.

That's the beauty of the villa area in Yalin Villa – nestled against the mountains and beside the water, with an elegant environment, and most importantly, it's secluded enough to be very livable.

Song Qingyou didn't stay by the window for long because she had to go to the city for a classmate reunion at seven o'clock, and there were only two hours left until the agreed time.

Yan Miao had organized an event a year ago and invited her, but she declined. Firstly, Song Qingyou hadn't contacted her old classmates and friends for two or three years, and secondly, she had taken a leave of absence from school because of the Song family's affairs, and despite the efforts of her classmates and teachers at the medical school to persuade her, they couldn't convince her to stay. Song Qingyou had always felt guilty about it.

I used to not want to see those old classmates because I had given up my beloved profession for revenge, and I felt guilty towards them. Now I don't want to go because I actually gave up my dream for a joke I've stuck with for years.

She's now a shrewd businesswoman, and has long since drifted apart from her former classmates and friends.

This class reunion was organized by Yan Miao. To get Song Qingyou to attend, Yan Miao made more than a dozen phone calls a day for three consecutive days. Song Qingyou was so tired of being pestered that she finally agreed.

Fu Wenzhou had been insisting on going with her, but Song Qingyou refused.

In response, Fu Wenzhou unilaterally gave her the silent treatment for a day and expressed his dissatisfaction by going on a hunger strike.

Song Qingyou wouldn't tolerate his bad habit.

When she left, Fu Wenzhou was still upstairs with his door tightly shut, refusing to come out.

The sound of the door closing came from behind the bedroom door, and the man who had been hiding furtively cursed under his breath.

Despite being quite tall, he hunched over half his body, his ear pressed against the door, his brow furrowed deeply, as if he wished he had superhuman hearing.

After a long silence, Fu Wenzhou muttered, "Really gone?"

He carefully opened the door, pressed himself against the wall as he went downstairs, and when he saw the empty living room, his lips twitched violently, his handsome face turned as black as the bottom of a pot, and his stomach, which had been hungry all day, growled at an inopportune moment.

Fu Wenzhou stood alone in the living room, sulking, getting angrier the more he thought about it.

-

The venue for the gathering was quite luxurious, one of the city's top-tier luxury hotels. Yan Miao was very generous, booking the top-floor observation deck, which was surrounded by glass buildings, allowing guests to look up and see the sunset.

Before everyone had arrived, Yan Miao was busy organizing things at the door, while Song Qingyou sat in the innermost corner playing a match-3 game; the level displayed was number 1056. An untimely news notification popped up on her phone.

Shen Qiwen, the youngest recipient of the highest award in clinical medicine theory, has confirmed his attendance at the Jingbei University Medical Academic Symposium.

Song Qingyou paused, her gaze lingering on the name Shen Qiwen for a second.

Yan Miao brought over a wine glass, pulled out a chair, and sat down next to Song Qingyou. They were best friends back in school, always on the same page. Song Qingyou was much more reserved then than she is now.

Now that she's with Fu Wenzhou, Yan Miao feels that she smiles more often, her whole demeanor is less cold, and she's much more approachable.

Over the years, Song Qingyou had only been in contact with Yan Miao, and after deciding to suspend her studies, she was the first to inform Yan Miao.

"What are you looking at?" Yan Miao asked.

Song Qingyou failed to pass level 1056 and, feeling bored, turned off the screen: "Is everyone here for a match-3 game?"

Yan Miao glanced at the doorway, somewhat disappointed: "Qin Zhou didn't come." She paused, then added, "Shen Qiwen didn't come either."

Upon hearing Shen Qiwen's name again, Song Qingyou remained unmoved. After all, her interactions with Shen Qiwen back then weren't actually that many: "Don't tell me you put so much effort into organizing this class reunion just for Qin Zhou."

Yan Miao readily admitted, "Yes, but not entirely. You know, I liked Qin Zhou back in college. Although I have a boyfriend now and don't like him anymore, I still have a tiny bit of a lingering desire to see my 'white moonlight.' Besides, it's been so many years since we've all gotten together, ever since you suddenly took a break..."

Yan Miao didn't continue, knowing that she didn't want to bring up that matter. She smiled and changed the subject, asking about Song Qingyou's Dingsheng Pharmaceutical Research. Ever since she learned that Song Qingyou and the researchers in his brother's company had actually developed a new drug, Yan Miao, who never cared about the company, started to worry about it.

Song Qingyou said it's already under review.

Someone walked over from the side.

Mu Yuanning had long, wavy hair and wore a red halter dress that accentuated her graceful figure. She'd always loved to argue with Song Qingyou back in school, and that habit hadn't changed: "Song Qingyou? I didn't expect you to come. Looks like Yan Miao has a lot of influence; she was able to get someone as important as you to come."

Yan Miao sent the invitation to a group, forgetting to filter out this person. She rolled her eyes and said, "What, are you going to pray to Qingyou?"

Mu Yuanning was humiliated, and her face turned ugly.

Song Qingyou smiled and secretly gave Yan Miao a thumbs up.

Mu Yuan Ning's red lips curled up again, deliberately picking on Song Qing You's sore spot, saying, "I heard you were kicked out of your school after you dropped out? Now you're a director of Song's Enterprise. It seems that money is indeed much more precious than dreams."
