Chapter 61 The Obedient Puppy

Hearing the door open, Fu Wenzhou raised his head, his eyes filled with exhaustion, his ears red from the cold, and his eyes dull and lifeless, staring unblinkingly at the person in front of him.

The bloodstains on the finger bones had dried, but they were still shocking to see.

Song Qingyou was stunned for a moment, "You...you stood here all night?"

Fu Wenzhou's coat looked like it was covered in frost, and even his hair was icy. His face was deathly pale, devoid of any human warmth.

He moved his lips, his voice hoarse and strained: "You..."

He stopped after saying only one word because he remembered that at the hospital, she told him not to call her Youyou.

He wouldn't call out if she told him not to.

Song Qingyou felt a pang of sadness in her heart and reached out to pull the person into the house. Every winter, the heating in her room was never turned off.

The difference between inside and outside was like night and day, and Fu Wenzhou's frozen body gradually warmed up.

Song Qingyou felt both sorry for him and angry. She poured him a cup of hot water: "Are you stupid? Standing in the corridor all night in the dead of winter, your house is right across the street, don't you know how to go home?"

Fu Wenzhou held the water glass, his fingers so frozen he had no feeling at all, holding it only by sheer willpower.

"The house has been sold."

"..."

He explained, "I wanted to move in with you, but I was afraid you wouldn't agree, so I sold the house."

Song Qingyou was truly exasperated. "Fu Wenzhou, are you out of your mind?"

She scolded him, and he listened without arguing back, but his eyes remained fixed on her.

Like a puppy that was punished by its owner for making a mistake and locked outside, it waited in the same spot for a whole night, freezing like an icicle, but refused to leave without complaint, only hoping that its owner would forgive it the next day.

Song Qingyou looked down and saw his injured hand, and her heart ached uncontrollably.

Fu Wenzhou's Adam's apple bobbed, and his voice was hoarse: "Don't be angry."

Song Qingyou clutched her heart, where something seemed to be emerging and taking root inside.

She looked up and said, "Come here."

Fu Wenzhou's eyes were a little red. He wanted to hug her, but he was too cold to do so.

He was naturally hot-tempered, and with the heating on full blast, he waited until the chill on his body melted before taking off his frosty coat. He slowly walked over, put his arm around her waist, and nuzzled her warm, white neck with his nose. "If you don't like it, I won't do it. Don't be angry with me, okay?"

His eyes were filled with unease and helplessness, and his tone was cautious and tentative.

It was as if she was afraid she would say no.

Song Qingyou raised her hand to stroke Fu Wenzhou's chin, sighed, and seemed to compromise: "Song Yuan or anyone else is not worth us committing crimes for. Compared to death, being worse than death is more despairing."

She gently patted his back: "Do you understand?"

"Mmm." Fu Wenzhou hugged her even tighter, wishing he could meld Song Qingyou into his very bones.

Song Qingyou had some difficulty breathing, but she forced herself not to cough. Only after calming him down did she let go of him to take his medicine.

Fu Wenzhou followed her like a large dog, never leaving her side.

"Stay here and don't move," Song Qingyou said softly.

Fu Wenzhou paused, obediently standing still, waiting for her to come out with the medicine box before he went to greet her.

Song Qingyou asked him to sit on the sofa, and then sat down next to him.

Fu Wenzhou's eyes never left her for a moment. He stood outside the door in the cold all night as punishment for making her angry.

Having finally managed to appease the person, Fu Wenzhou dared not let go of them again.

Song Qingyou took out iodine solution: "Hold out your hand."

Fu Wenzhou then reached out his hand.

Song Qingyou grasped his palm, and couldn't help but frown after seeing the wound.

It's one thing for this person to be ruthless to others, but why is he so ruthless to himself?

With your hand injured like that, how much force must you have used?

Song Qingyou carefully disinfected him, applied medicine, and wrapped him with gauze.

The way she carefully bandaged his wound made Fu Wenzhou feel as sweet as honey, and he couldn't help but smile. He leaned down and kissed her cheek.

Song Qingyou was startled by his kiss, "What are you doing?"

"Kiss you." Fu Wenzhou felt a strong urge to hug and kiss her, and even more intimately. "Youyou, I like you so much."

Song Qingyou's cheeks flushed, as if asking in doubt: "You like it that much?"

Fu Wenzhou nodded: "Yes, I like it that much."

Song Qingyou's earlobes burned, and she leaned in to kiss his lips as a reward for his obedience this time.

Fu Wenzhou looked at her, flattered and overwhelmed, his eyes moist and warm: "Youyou..."

Thinking he wasn't satisfied, Song Qingyou blushed and pecked him on the lips again, then pulled away immediately.

She had lived for twenty-four years and had never done anything like this before. She was used to being cold and aloof, so she felt a little embarrassed.

Fu Wenzhou's eyes were red-rimmed, clearly showing he was enduring great pain, and his gaze was incredibly persistent.

Song Qingyou, her face slightly flushed, packed her medical kit. "I need to go to the hospital."

Upon hearing the word "hospital," Fu Wenzhou immediately tensed up. "What's wrong? Where do you feel unwell?"

Song Qingyou thought to herself that she felt unwell every day, but she didn't say anything. She simply said, "My semi-annual check-up is due today."

“I’ll go with you.” Fu Wenzhou’s tone left no room for refusal.

"You didn't sleep a wink last night, did you not get any rest?" Song Qingyou asked, frowning.

Fu Wenzhou replied nonchalantly, "No need, I'll go with you."

Song Qingyou thought for a moment and said, "Then drive your car. I just need Uncle Chang to help me with something."

Fu Wenzhou kissed her again before getting up to get his car keys.

He carefully led Song Qingyou downstairs, when a neighbor saw them and smiled, "Oh, young man, you've managed to win your wife over?"

Fu Wenzhou smiled smugly: "Yes, I've appeased them."

The old lady smiled and looked at Song Qingyou: "This little girl is so pretty, no wonder you like her so much."

"Of course," Fu Wenzhou said with a touch of pride.

Song Qingyou looked completely bewildered. After the neighbor aunt left, she asked him, "What wife?"

Fu Wenzhou touched his nose and cleared his throat: "I ran into him last night. He asked me what I was doing standing outside in the dead of winter. I told him I made my wife angry and got kicked out of the house."

Song Qingyou: ...

Who is his wife!

How can this person not be ashamed?

Her face flushed again, and she glared at Fu Wenzhou.

Fu Wenzhou smiled, his eyes filled with boundless doting affection, and his voice was deep and resolute: "Youyou, you'll have to marry me sooner or later."

Even if you don't like him, it's okay. They say feelings grow over time, so feelings will naturally develop over time.

As long as he perseveres, the name Song Qingyou will eventually appear on his household registration.

Fu Wenzhou took even better care of her than Song Chang did. It was only a half-hour journey, but he not only prepared hot water, but also washed fruit and played her favorite music.

The car drove smoothly to the hospital. Because it was an appointment made in advance, Song Qingyou underwent a full-body check-up as soon as she arrived.

As in previous years, her heart condition was congenital and could not be improved by taking expensive medicinal herbs every day. It could only improve her complexion, which was only a temporary solution.
