Fu Wenzhou was seething with anger, but he looked at Song Qingyou with a smile and threw the question at her: "I came with Miss Song, it wouldn't be right to leave her behind. If Miss Song asks me to go, then I will go."
Jiang Chu's expression changed slightly, and he looked at the two of them with a strange expression.
Jiang Xun, however, had an expression that said he saw through everything, and waited patiently to watch the show.
Song Qingyou's heart skipped a beat, feeling that Fu Wenzhou's words "Miss Song" had a deeper meaning.
But she had just told Jiang Chu that she and Fu Wenzhou were just friends, and how could friends restrict each other's behavior? So she smiled and said nonchalantly, "Go if you want, don't worry about me."
Upon hearing this, the smile in Fu Wenzhou's eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a cold smile. He said in a sarcastic tone, "Fine, Jiang Xun, let's go."
He called out Jiang Xun's name, but his eyes were fixed on Song Qingyou.
He waited resentfully for her to angrily tell him not to go, but she didn't even glance at him, as if she didn't care at all.
Fu Wenzhou scoffed coldly, got up and left. Tall and long-legged, he disappeared from everyone's sight in the blink of an eye.
Jiang Xun raised an eyebrow, and only after being reminded by Jiang Chu did she make a move. She glanced thoughtfully at Song Qingyou, then got up and walked in the direction Fu Wenzhou had left.
Jiang Chu pretended not to see Song Qingyou's stunned expression and said cheerfully, "My daughter is rather cold-hearted and has high standards. Most boys don't catch her eye. Over the years, the only ones she seems to get along with are Wen Zhou. Miss Song, come on, play a couple more games with me."
Song Qingyou absentmindedly hummed in agreement.
However, once she sat down at the chessboard, she couldn't calm down.
Jiang Xun was so bright and beautiful, unlike herself who always looked sickly. Sometimes she felt like an old woman on her deathbed. She wondered if Fu Wenzhou would find her boring.
Jiang Xun is so cute, most people would like her, right?
"It's your turn, Miss Song." Jiang Xun reminded her. Song Qingyou was in a mess and had no intention of playing chess. She made a move randomly, but she was stunned after making the move.
She made a mistake that only a novice would make.
Jiang Chu paused for a moment, then laughed and said, "Miss Song, don't let my age fool you into giving way to me."
Song Qingyou's expression faltered slightly, and she gave an apologetic smile: "I'm sorry, Uncle Jiang, I didn't make myself clear just now. Fu Wenzhou and I are more than just friends. He and your daughter might not be a good match."
