Chapter 150: Can we make a baby chair?

Xiao Youran nodded and said, "Ordinary incense can cause coughing and wheezing because the air is filled with extremely fine dust particles, which can easily irritate the upper respiratory tract and trigger coughing and wheezing. After each incense burner is finished burning, are there always ashes left? But candles don't!"

Doctor Gu stared blankly at the candlestick, then suddenly slapped his thigh. "That's it! Ordinary incense leaves ash after burning, but candles don't! I can try making candles from those Cold Fragrance Pills!"

Having said that, he disappeared from the room in a whirlwind, just as he had come.

The monk Wuwang wore an expression that was hard to describe.

Is he my master?

Wen Yuanbai sighed inwardly. Sure enough, she was a lucky star, having solved another major problem that had been troubling them.

His gaze fell on Xiao Youran's left sleeve.

She just reached into her sleeve and pulled out a packet of tea.

Could it be that she knew her master was going to talk about the tea ceremony today?

...

In the afternoon, Doctor Gu was busy researching the mixture of the Fragrance Pill and the candle, and had no time to teach them medical skills, so Xiao Youran pulled her brother and left the manor early.

Xiaoshan was playing with a few of the village's youngest children at the village entrance.

There was really no other way. Their leader had to go to the village to study every morning and afternoon, so the only way to see her was to wait at the west end of the village for them to come home from school.

However, they didn't expect that their leader would be dismissed from school so early today.

He immediately rushed forward excitedly, "Gang Leader! Gang Leader! You're so powerful!"

Xiao Youran was speechless.

Yeah, I've been neglecting those silly kids lately.

Remembering the New Year's gift she had wanted to give to her senior brother, she asked, "Do you know which family in the village does a good job with carpentry?"

Xiao Shan excitedly raised his hand, “My dad! He does carpentry work all year round. These past two months, we’ve been staying at my uncle’s house, and he replaced all the wooden furniture in my uncle’s house. We’re just waiting for him to go out and find some carpentry work after spring, earn some money, and then build a house for our family.”

Xiao Youran's eyes lit up, and she automatically pulled out a box of chocolates from her sleeve. "Quickly take us to find your father."

"Okay!" Xiaoshan was overjoyed. He was finally able to do his part for the gang leader, which was a fair reward for the chocolates the gang leader gave him from time to time.

Stone and Erwa were a little unhappy. Xiaoshan was already doing things for the gang leader, but they themselves weren't. The chocolate was burning hot to the touch.

"Boss, we also want to do something for you."

Xiao Youran's eyes lit up. "Then you should find some really big trees, and write down their locations to tell Uncle Dashan! But just look around here. The middle mountain is dangerous. If you really want to go up the mountain, just wander around the east mountain."

"Okay!" Stone and Erwa happily ran off in a certain direction.

Jiang Youchen led his younger sister behind Xiaoshan toward home, asking curiously, "Little sister, are you doing some woodworking?"

After thinking for a moment, Xiao Youran made a wish in her notebook, took out a roll of paper from her sleeve, and quietly handed it to Jiang Youchen. "Brother, write down this structural diagram. Draw it when we get to Uncle Dashan's house. After Uncle Dashan finishes it, Senior Brother Dabai can come outside with us!"

Jiang Youchen was already used to his sister's magical sleeves that could conjure up all sorts of things, and opened the blueprints to examine them carefully without changing his expression.

Xiaoshan skipped and hopped home, eating chocolate as he went. Before he even reached the door, he shouted, "Daddy!"

As I approached the gate, I saw it wide open, and inside, a figure was sweating profusely as he planed wood.

Hearing the voice, Da Shan was about to scold his son, but when he saw the Jiang siblings behind his son, he immediately wiped the sweat from his forehead, rolled down his sleeves, and grinned, "Little lucky stars! Little benefactors, Happy New Year! Please come in, please come in!"

After saying that, he slapped his son on the head, "You little brat, you didn't even come to report that your little benefactor has arrived! Go and boil some water!"

Xiao Shan chuckled, "Dad! The gang leader and his brother don't want to drink our awful water! They're here to ask you to do some carpentry work!"

A smile of honor immediately spread across Da Shan's face. "What would you two little benefactors like me to do?"

Xiao Youran greeted him sweetly, "Happy New Year, Uncle Dashan," and then gave her brother a wink.

Jiang Youchen understood and stepped forward to gesture, "Uncle Dashan, Happy New Year! We want to make a chair with wheels. Do you have any pen and ink? I'll draw up the blueprints for you to see."

Da Shan chuckled and led him to a sandy area nearby. He scraped it smooth with a bamboo stick and then handed the stick to Jiang Youchen. "Little benefactor, just draw on this sand. Paper and ink are for nobles. Where would we get them? As soon as you draw, Uncle will know what you want to make."

Without further ado, Jiang Youchen picked up a bamboo strip and drew a simple diagram on the sand.

Da Shan was puzzled at first, then suddenly realized, and exclaimed in surprise, "This wheeled chair is really wonderful! Those with mobility issues are so lucky! But why is there another ring around the wheels?"

Jiang Youchen didn't understand. Xiao Youran skipped over casually and said, "Uncle Dashan, if you're sitting in this wheelchair, you need someone to push you, right? If the outer rim of the wheel were a little smaller, you could hold onto the outer rim and turn the wheel to move forward, right?"

Da Shan suddenly realized what was going on and gave a thumbs up, "Indeed brilliant!"

Otherwise, with such a large wheel rolling on the ground, wouldn't sand, mud, dog poop, and all sorts of things stick to it? How could anyone bring themselves to do that?

Little Youran then said, "Uncle Dashan, this chair is for adults. But the baby is too short, and has to kneel on the chair to eat. Uncle, could you make a baby chair?"

"A baby chair?" Once Da Shan had this idea, he immediately perked up. "You kids are indeed not tall enough, so we can just make the chairs higher!"

Xiao Youran took the bamboo strip from her brother and drew a small chair next to it. "Uncle, if we just raise the height, the baby won't need it when he grows up, right? We can divide the chair into two parts. We can make a board on the bottom side, and turn it sideways to make a small table. We can take down the chair on top and put it together with the table, so the baby can sit on it and write and draw. Also... we can make a movable board in front of the chair, so we can put a bowl on it so the baby can eat by himself, and it won't make the baby fall off!"

Da Shan was taken aback for a moment, then slapped his thigh and exclaimed in approval, "As expected, you kids from the capital are really knowledgeable!"
