Very sweet
Mu Han's cries were like beads that had broken off a string, hitting his heart one by one. His mother saw that his shoulders were shaking violently and his eyes were red. She quickly reached out and hugged him, patting his back and coaxing him softly: "Okay, okay, don't cry. Mom is not angry anymore. I was just saying harsh words to you."
The person in his arms cried even harder, her tears soaking through the front of her shirt. Mu Han hadn't meant to cause trouble, but the words "I don't care about you anymore" were like a blunt knife, catching him off guard and opening a scar he had hidden for so long. The pain of losing his mother in his previous life was still etched in his bones and blood; how could he bear to have it happen again? Warm tears covered his face, and he clutched the corner of his mother's shirt, his knuckles turning white, as if this would confirm that the person in front of him was real and would not disappear like bubbles.
After crying for a long time, the sobs gradually subsided. Mu Han sniffed, raised his red eyes and looked at his mother, tears still hanging on his eyelashes. Just as he was about to say something, his father's anxious voice suddenly came from the side: "Where is Xiaoyi? Why is Han Yi missing?"
Mu Han was stunned and subconsciously looked around. He was so busy feeling uncomfortable that he didn't notice that someone was missing. The ward was empty, and there was indeed no sign of Han Yi. His heart skipped a beat and he quickly stood up: "I'll go out and look for him."
Before he finished speaking, the man had already strode out. The hospital corridor was long and silent, the smell of disinfectant filling the air. Mu Han looked at the door of each ward, ran up the stairs a few floors, and finally saw a familiar figure on a bench in the garden downstairs.
Han Yi sat with his back to him, his shoulders slightly hunched, as if he was also sad. Hearing footsteps, he turned his head, his eyes red, but he didn't say anything, just staring at Mu Han, with grievance and unwillingness surging in his eyes, as if silently urging him to give an explanation.
Mu Han sat down beside him, twisting the corner of his clothes unconsciously with his fingertips. He was silent for a few seconds before speaking in an almost gentle tone: "Xiao Yi, I'm sorry, but this is my choice."
"What choice?" Han Yi suddenly spoke, his voice heavily nasal, tears welling up in his eyes, about to fall. "Why can't you just look at me? You know I like you." He sniffed, his tearful voice filled with confusion and grievance. "Why is it always him? What's so good about Lu Zhizhi? You know I've liked you since I was very young..."
Those questions were like little hammers, gently knocking at Mu Han's heart. He looked at Han Yi's red eyes, and felt bad too, but he could only soften his voice and patiently comfort him, "Xiao Yi, you're very good, really very good. It's me who doesn't deserve you." He paused, and finally said, "I've always treated you as my younger brother."
Han Yi suddenly turned his head to look at him, tears finally falling and sliding down his cheeks. He sniffed and whispered with a thick nasal voice: "Then...then can you hug me? Just think of it as comforting me."
Mu Han hesitated for a moment, but still reached out and hugged him gently. However, the hug was fleeting, and it fell apart as soon as it touched, like a feather falling on the water, leaving few ripples.
Han Yi knew that it was useless to pester her any further. He wiped his tears, sniffed his nose, and said in a hoarse voice, "I have something else to do at the company, so I'll leave first." After that, he stood up and left with a staggering step.
Mu Han looked at his lonely back and sat there for a long time before slowly standing up and walking towards the studio.
Pushing open the door of the studio, Luo Wanghan was sitting in front of the computer typing away. He looked up and saw him come in. His eyes first fell on the slightly red corners of his eyes, and then he was attracted by the ring on his hand. He raised his eyebrows in surprise: "Wow, the news is true? You really are with Lu Zhizhi..."
Mu Han touched the ring on his hand, nodded slightly, and said nothing more.
Luo Wanghan noticed that his face didn't look good, with a hint of fatigue in his eyes, so he tactfully didn't ask any more questions. He just smiled gently and said, "Okay, you must be tired after just coming back. Take a break first. I still have some things to finish here."
With that, he turned back to his work. Mu Han responded and walked into his studio, looking for something to distract himself. He picked up his brush and intended to draw a straight line on the paper, but the tip of the brush twisted uncontrollably, like a struggling snake. He frowned and tried a few more times, but the result was the same.
After an unknown amount of time, he unconsciously raised his left hand, grasped the brush, and slowly moved the tip of the brush across the paper, gradually outlining a vague outline. At this moment, the phone suddenly rang, breaking the silence of the studio.
Mu Han picked up his phone and saw the words "Lu Zhizhi" flashing on the screen. He paused and swiped the answer button.
"Hanhan, where are you?" Lu Zhizhi's worried voice came from the other end of the phone, "Look at what time it is now? I'll pick you up."
Mu Han was about to answer when Ji Lu's voice came from the other end of the phone again, with the clear voice unique to teenagers: "Sister-in-law! Brother Lu misses you! Where are you? Come back soon!"
Listening to that lively voice, Mu Han's tense nerves seemed to relax a little, and his tone softened: "Okay, I'll go back now."
After hanging up the phone, he simply packed up his painting supplies and drove home.
When I opened the door, I heard a burst of laughter from the living room. Lu Zhizhi and Ji Lu were playing on the sofa, and Ji Lu was giggling like a happy little bird. When they heard the door open, they both looked over.
"Sister-in-law!" Ji Lu's eyes lit up, and he immediately jumped off the sofa. He rushed to Mu Han like a little cannonball, opened his arms and wanted to hug her, "You're back!"
Mu Han smiled and picked him up. The little guy swung his legs happily in his arms, his eyes curved with a smile.
Lu Zhizhi also stood up and walked over, his eyes falling on Mu Han's face, with a hint of imperceptible tenderness: "Hanhan, are you tired? Put him down, we're going to eat."
Ji Lu rubbed against Mu Han's arms, raised his little face and said, "Sister-in-law, put me down, it's time to eat."
Mu Han put him down, and Ji Lu immediately grabbed his hand and dragged him to the table, where they sat down next to each other. Lu Zhizhi then sat down as well and poured Mu Han a bowl of soup: "Drink some soup first to warm your stomach."
Mu Han lowered his head to drink the soup, but he didn't have much of an appetite. He put down his chopsticks after a few bites. Seeing that he didn't want to eat anymore, Ji Lu raised her little face and asked, "Sister-in-law, are you full?"
Mu Han patted his head and said softly, "Well, I'm full. Xiao Lu, eat slowly. I'm going to take a shower."
Ji Lu's eyes rolled, and he immediately dropped his chopsticks, pulled Mu Han's clothes and said, "Sister-in-law, I'm done eating too! Can you help me take a bath?"
Before Mu Han could say anything, Lu Zhizhi next to him frowned and said in a serious tone, "No, Ji Lu, you are already so old, you have to take a bath by yourself."
Ji Lu pouted and glared at Lu Zhizhi in dissatisfaction: "I don't want to wash it myself! I want my sister-in-law to help me wash it! My brother is the worst!"
Just as Lu Zhizhi was about to say something else, Mu Han's voice came softly: "It's okay, little Lu is still young."
Without waiting for Lu Zhizhi to refute, Mu Han had already taken Ji Lu's hand and walked upstairs.
…
The bathroom was filled with steam, accompanied by Ji Lu's chattering voice. By the time he washed the little guy and wrapped him in a bath towel and carried him out, it was already completely dark outside. Ji Lu yawned, almost unable to open his eyes due to sleepiness, but he still held Mu Han's hand tightly and pulled him into the bedroom.
Lu Zhizhi was sitting on the bed, reading documents. He looked up when he saw them come in, and his gaze paused on Mu Han. Mu Han wore a loose white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, paired with light-colored shorts. His hair, still dripping with water, flowed down his neck into the collar, outlining his beautiful curves. Lu Zhizhi's Adam's apple moved unconsciously, and he swallowed quietly.
The two of them stopped in front of Lu Zhizhi. Ji Lu yawned and said with a thick nasal voice: "I want to sleep with my sister-in-law and brother today!"
Lu Zhizhi put down the documents and refused seriously: "No, go back to your room and sleep. You are so clingy even at this age."
"You're the clingy one!" Ji Lu pouted unconvincedly, "You're already so old, and you still want to sleep with your sister-in-law! I want to stay here!"
Lu Zhizhi was speechless and sighed helplessly: "I'll go take a shower first."
Ji Lu immediately cheered: "Oh yeah! I can sleep with my sister-in-law!"
Before Lu Zhizhi walked into the bathroom, he looked at Ji Lu calmly, with a hint of cunning in his eyes - wait until the little guy fell asleep, and then secretly take him back to his room.
An hour later, Lu Zhizhi emerged from the bathroom, fresh and moist. A single dim nightlight lit the bedroom, and the two people on the bed were already asleep. Ji Lu curled up beside Mu Han like a docile kitten, while Mu Han lay on his side, breathing evenly. His long eyelashes cast a small shadow under his eyelids, making him look particularly well-behaved.
Lu Zhizhi walked over quietly and carefully picked up Ji Lu from the bed, his movements so gentle as if he didn't want to disturb the butterfly's dream. He sent the little guy back to the next room, tucked in the corner of the quilt, and then tiptoed back to the bedroom.
He lifted the covers and carefully slid into bed, fearing to wake the person next to him. In the darkness, he used the dim light to quietly observe Mu Han's sleeping face. Moonlight slipped in through the gaps in the curtains, casting a faint halo on his face, making his skin appear even whiter. His lips were a natural, tender red, like a ripe cherry.
Lu Zhizhi's heart skipped a beat. He tentatively reached out and gently wrapped his arm around Mu Han's waist, pulling him closer to him. The man in his arms seemed to stir, but didn't wake up. He looked down at the face so close to him, and couldn't help but lean over and kiss him lightly on the lips.
The soft touch was like cotton candy, with a hint of sweetness. He was still not satisfied, so he kissed her again gently, his heart pounding like a little rabbit. He wanted to get closer, but he was afraid of waking her, so he could only restrain his impulse.
Lu Zhizhi buried his face in the crook of Mu Han's neck and took a deep breath. His nose was filled with his unique, faint sweet scent. Even the lips he had just kissed seemed to still have that sweetness. This made him feel inexplicably at ease, like a ship that had been drifting for a long time and finally found a harbor.
The person in his arms was sleeping soundly, breathing evenly. Lu Zhizhi tightened his arms and hugged him tightly, feeling the real warmth in his arms, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously raised slightly.
The moonlight streamed quietly outside the window, and the room was so quiet that only the sound of each other's breathing remained. Lu Zhizhi looked at the sleeping person in his arms, his eyelids gradually becoming heavy, and soon he also fell into a deep sleep accompanied by the sweet feeling of peace.
