I love you

I love you

A year and a half passed quietly. The sycamore trees outside the window turned green and then yellow, fell and grew again. Mu Han still stayed by Lu Zhizhi's bed day after day, patiently guarding like a plant waiting to bloom.

That afternoon, sunlight streamed through the screen window onto the back of Lu Zhizhi's hand. Mu Han was wiping his hand. Just as his fingertips touched the slightly cool skin, Lu Zhizhi's fingers suddenly moved slightly. Mu Han's heart skipped a beat, then calmed down again. Over the past year or so, he had seen this kind of "movement" too many times, each time filled with hope, only to be left with disappointment. Over time, even his nerves had become dulled.

He wiped his hands carefully, turned Lu Zhizhi over, tucked in the quilt, and then sat down on the edge of the bed, chattering as usual: "Azhi, I went to see the contract we signed today. It will expire in three months." He paused, and his fingertips gently stroked Lu Zhizhi's sleeping eyebrows. There was a hint of nervousness in his voice that he didn't even notice. "If you can wake up... I won't ask for a divorce from you. Let's be good and stay together forever, okay?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Zhizhi's fingers moved again, the amplitude more obvious than before, but Mu Han was bent over to adjust the corner of the quilt and didn't see it. He took the hand and pressed it to his cheek. The fatigue of the past few days surged over him, and his eyelids became heavier and heavier. Before he knew it, he fell asleep on the edge of the bed, his breathing as light as a feather.

Mu Han was sleeping so soundly that he didn't notice that the ECG monitor next to him suddenly fluctuated violently. The sharp alarm exploded in the quiet ward and then stopped abruptly, and then miraculously returned to normal.

Lu Zhizhi's eyelashes trembled slightly, and he slowly opened his eyes. In fact, he had woken up long ago, and his consciousness had been clear six months ago. It was just that his body felt like it was nailed to the bed, and even moving a finger required all his strength. In the past six months, he had heard and seen everything Mu Han said and did clearly - watching him clumsily learn massage, watching him cry into his diary, watching him draw himself stroke by stroke with his clumsy left hand. His heart felt like it was soaked in warm water, sore and soft.

He lowered his head to look at Mu Han, who was lying beside him. There was a faint blue-black mark under his eyes, and his lips were a little chapped. It was obvious that he had not rested well. A faint smile appeared on the corner of Lu Zhizhi's mouth, and his voice was hoarse like sandpaper rubbing: "Hanhan, I heard everything you said."

With immense effort, he slowly removed the IV needle from his hand and the various tubes from his body, his movements so gentle as if he wouldn't disturb the butterflies. Every movement sent a stabbing pain through his limbs, yet his eyes shone with a startling joy at having lost something. Finally sitting up, he carefully lifted Mu Han horizontally and gently placed him on his bed. Fortunately, Mu Han was sound asleep, groaning only twice but not waking.

Lu Zhizhi covered Mu Han with the quilt, then hugged him tightly around the waist, his chin resting on the top of his head, with such force that it seemed as if he wanted to rub him into his bones and blood. He greedily inhaled the faint scent of turpentine on Mu Han's body, and his eyes felt slightly warm - it was so good, it wasn't a dream, his Han Han was in his arms, soft and warm.

He didn't know how long he had been holding her when the phone on the bedside table suddenly rang. The piercing ring scared Lu Zhizhi so much that he frantically reached for it, fearing that he would wake the person in his arms. With trembling fingers, he swiped the screen to turn off the ringtone, then looked down at Mu Han. Seeing that he was still sleeping soundly, he breathed a sigh of relief.

For some reason, he opened Mu Han's phone—the password was his birthday, as always. The screen was densely packed with alarm clocks, from "Wipe Ah Zhi" at 6:00 AM, to "Feed Ah Zhi" at 12:00 PM, to "Read the newspaper" at 9:00 PM. Even the time to change the nutrient solution bottle was clearly marked. Lu Zhizhi's heart felt like it was being tugged at, aching and painful. It turned out that Mu Han lived every day so meticulously.

About an hour later, Mu Han finally woke up and stretched. Before he could fully open his eyes, he felt a warm kiss on his lips. The soft touch carried a familiar scent. He thought drowsily that he must be dreaming again, otherwise why would Lu Zhizhi kiss him?

He subconsciously responded to the kiss, and as their lips and teeth intertwined, Lu Zhizhi suddenly bit his lower lip lightly.

"Hmm..." The pain instantly woke Mu Han. He opened his eyes, only to see Lu Zhizhi's enlarged face, a smile and tenderness in his eyes. He froze in place, his mind blank. After several seconds, he suddenly sat up. How did he end up lying on Lu Zhizhi's bed? And Lu Zhizhi...was awake?

Mu Han seemed to be scalded. He threw off the quilt and ran out the door without even bothering to put on his shoes.

Lu Zhizhi stretched out his hand to stop her, but his hand was empty. Looking at the empty doorway, a huge panic suddenly surged in his heart - had he angered Han Han again? Was Han Han going to abandon him again?

Just when he was feeling distraught, the door of the ward was suddenly pushed open and several doctors in white coats rushed in. Mu Han followed at the end, his cheeks flushed but his eyes surprisingly bright.

Lu Zhizhi's eyes suddenly lit up, like a drowning man grabbing a piece of driftwood.

The doctors carefully examined him and reviewed various indicators. Finally, they said to Mu Han, "Mr. Lu is recovering very well, and all his functions are steadily improving. However, to be on the safe side, it would be better for him to stay in the hospital for observation for a week."

After the doctors left, they were the only two left in the ward. Mu Han sat down beside the bed, twisting the corner of his clothes with his fingers. After a long while, he raised his head, his voice still a little tense: "Now...are you hungry?"

Lu Zhizhi didn't answer, just staring at him intently. Suddenly, he leaned forward and kissed him again. This kiss carried the longing that had been suppressed for too long, the cherishment that had been lost and regained, lingering and urgent. Mu Han was stunned for a moment, then closed his eyes, gently wrapped his arms around his neck, and responded cautiously.

They didn't know how long they kissed until both of them were breathless and there was a sudden knock on the ward door. Mu Han pushed Lu Zhizhi away like a frightened rabbit, her cheeks red enough to bleed.

The door opened, and Ji Xingyuan walked in. His eyes swept over the two of them—Mu Han blushed and dodged to the side, while Lu Zhizhi smiled, his eyes filled with tenderness. He instantly understood, but his expression remained calm. "The doctor said you're awake, so I came to see you. It's good that you're awake."

Mu Han felt really embarrassed, so he stood up and said, "I'll go downstairs and get a bowl of porridge."

"Go ahead, I'll wait for you." Lu Zhizhi's voice was so gentle that it could drown water.

When Mu Han came back with the porridge and opened the door, he saw Lu Zhizhi trying to stand up by holding on to the wall. His legs went weak and he fell back onto the bed, his brows tightly furrowed, obviously he had exerted force.

Mu Han hurried over and put the porridge on the bedside table. Just as he was about to speak, he heard Lu Zhizhi say in a coquettish tone: "Hanhan, can you feed me? My hands are weak."

Mu Han was stunned. He had never seen Lu Zhizhi like this before. He looked like a child asking for candy. His ears instantly turned red, and he said stubbornly, "Who, who wants to feed you? If you don't want to eat, I'll take it away."

"Don't!" Lu Zhizhi hurriedly grabbed his hand, fearing that he would really leave. He took the bowl of porridge and drank it in big gulps. It was finished in a short while.

Over the next few days, Mu Han accompanied Lu Zhizhi in walking practice. Having been inactive for so long, his legs felt as soft as noodles, and he was out of breath after taking just a few steps, yet he gritted his teeth and refused to stop. Mu Han supported him, watching the sweat dripping from his forehead, feeling both distressed and relieved.

In just one week, Lu Zhizhi was able to walk slowly on his own, holding onto a wall. After examining him, the doctor smiled and said, "Your recovery is much better than expected. It seems you've been working hard."

The sun was shining brightly on the day he was discharged from the hospital. As soon as Lu Zhizhi opened the door to the villa, he was stunned by the sight before him—the dining table was laden with dishes, Ji Xingyuan sat at the head table, and Ji Lu was leaning over the table, peeking in. Upon seeing them enter, he immediately jumped up: "Brother! You're finally awake! Xiao Lu missed you so much!"

"Brother misses you too." Lu Zhizhi smiled and rubbed his hair.

Mu Han came out of the kitchen wearing an apron, holding a plate of freshly made sweet and sour pork ribs: "It's time to eat."

The meal was lively and lively. Ji Lu chattered non-stop, and Ji Xingyuan occasionally interjected a few words. However, Lu Zhizhi's eyes almost never left Mu Han, which made his cheeks flush and he was even a little flustered when picking up the dishes.

After dinner, Ji Xingyuan took Ji Lu away, leaving only the two of them in the huge house. Mu Han cleaned up the dishes, and Lu Zhizhi followed him. When he washed the dishes, Lu Zhizhi handed him the rag; when he wiped the table, Lu Zhizhi helped move the chairs, like a little tail that couldn't be shaken off.

It was late at night. Mu Han made the bed and prepared to go to sleep, but Lu Zhizhi suddenly hugged him from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder, and said in a voice with a bit of grievance: "Hanhan, we haven't slept together for a long time."

Mu Han's body stiffened. Remembering that he had just been discharged from the hospital and had not yet fully recovered, he hesitated and said, "You just..."

"I'm fine." Lu Zhizhi tightened his arms, his hot breath brushing against his neck. "Just let me hold you, okay?"

His voice was so gentle, and it carried a tone that could not be refused. Mu Han finally nodded.

In the darkness, Lu Zhizhi's kiss gently touched the back of his neck, a touch filled with careful cherishment. At first, he restrained himself, his movements gentle, as if he were handling a rare treasure. But gradually, the desire that had been suppressed for so long spread like a wildfire, unstoppable. Mu Han could clearly feel his intense passion and deep affection, from forbearance to loss of control, and finally, only tangled breathing remained.

I don’t know how long it took, but Mu Han was so tired that he couldn’t open his eyes. He felt his whole body was weak, as if all his bones had been pulled out.

The next morning, Mu Han was awakened by a gentle kiss. He opened his eyes drowsily, his voice hoarse, "Awake?"

"Sleep a little longer." Lu Zhizhi's kiss fell on his eyelids, gentle as a spring breeze, "I'll go make breakfast."

Mu Han hummed, turned over and wanted to continue sleeping, but was held down by Lu Zhizhi.

"Hanhan," his voice was filled with a subtle nervousness, "Do you love me?"

Mu Han was very sleepy and subconsciously said "hmm".

Lu Zhizhi's eyes lit up instantly. He leaned close to Mu Han's ear and said word by word clearly and solemnly:

"I love you!"

"I love you!"

"I love you!"

The sunlight shone through the gap in the curtains and fell on the two people's clasped hands. The rings on their ring fingers reflected tiny rays of light, warm and firm.
