The sharp whistling of the ancient sword shattered Morris's smug face. Ruan Xianxian moved swiftly, her sword light flashing like a forged blade, cleaving through the cage of holy light with the power to cut through everything.
Morris's eyes narrowed, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. He blocked with his staff, which exploded the instant it collided with the sword energy, sending shockwaves spreading outwards and kicking up dust.
Ruan Xianxian touched the ground with her toes, her figure as nimble as a butterfly. The ancient sword danced in her hands, creating layers of sword curtains, and each collision produced a metallic clang.
"It's time to end this!" Ruan Xianxian took a deep breath, and the dark light on the ancient sword surged. With her other hand, she drew the nine-section whip from her waist and swung it forcefully, leashning it around Morris's neck like a dog's leash.
The sound of something cutting through the air behind them indicated that Maurice's reinforcements had arrived.
