The paper filled with writing was snatched away by the person next to him. Gong Ye took a deep breath and suddenly stuffed the burning cigarette into Lin Rui Cong's pants pocket.
As he stumbled back from the sudden heat, Miyano easily snatched the paper back, folded it gracefully, and put it back in his jacket pocket.
His expression was no longer as docile as it had been in front of Ruan Xianxian; he glanced coldly at Lin Ruicong, who was frantically reaching into his pockets like a monkey.
"Uncle Lin! You're here, but where's my dad? He ran away with his tail between his legs after seeing me?"
Lin Rui Cong, who had finally managed to pull out the cigarette butt from his pocket, wanted nothing more than to punch him. "You unlucky bastard! You burned your uncle's private parts, your aunt will fight you to the death."
As the old chief's bodyguard, besides Feng Guang, Lin Rui Cong had spent the most time with Gong Ye, thinking back to the contents of the paper he had just caught a glimpse of.
He held back for a moment, then burst into laughter, bent over backward, under Miyano's increasingly gloomy gaze.
"You, you little brat, you copied Lao Feng's diary?"
"What 'in the name of love' and 'cage'? Hahaha, hahaha, that was just a little trick your father used when he was pursuing your mother."
Seeing that this fifty-year-old man was still smiling like a fool, Miyano relaxed and casually leaned against the wall. "What do you mean?"
Lin Rui Cong pulled out a cigarette case from the kid, lit one himself, and gave him a half-smile.
"Back then, when your mother was forcibly taken back by Lao Feng, she boasted that she would rather be with a pile of shit than with your father. Shit can fill her stomach before she starves to death, while your father will only hasten her death."
He couldn't coax him from either side, and his father was as anxious as a monkey jumping around. He grabbed his crooked-handled sword and threatened his brother who had gone through thick and thin with him to come up with a solution.
But the soldiers were all roughnecks who had never even held their own women's hands. How could they possibly come up with any ideas for him?
Fortunately, your uncle Wen, who died early and was the staff officer at the time, came up with a solution for him.
Write a diary entry expressing your love in a subtle way, deliberately giving away clues so your mother will find out on her own.
Miyano relaxed, slightly raising her eyes. "And then?"
Lin Rui Cong took a deep drag on his cigarette. "I must say, your idea for the clerk was really effective. Old Feng followed it when he got back, and your mother, noticing his suspicious behavior, discovered that diary."
Naturally, you also know your father's intentions.
A marriage is made with genuine sincerity, not merely for fleeting pleasure.
She even felt she had grasped your father's little secrets. Whenever the two had a conflict, your mother would always look to your father's diary for his true thoughts.
"And then..." Amidst the swirling smoke, Lin Rui Cong's expression held a hint of amusement: "That icy beauty from the girls' college was actually plucked by your father, that roughneck."
"But he didn't enjoy his triumph for long. Around the time he got married and had your older brother, the truth was revealed by chance. Your mother was so angry that she almost ran away abroad with your older sister, who was in her belly."
If it weren't for Lao Feng's persistent pleas, the man might have really left.
"Kid, don't believe his nonsense. Do you believe a warlord who plunders and seizes everything says love is restraint?"
The cigarette was almost burned out when Lin Rui Cong smiled and patted Gong Ye on the shoulder: "Listen to your uncle, kid! Others' experiences are just that—others' experiences."
Relationships built on pretense and deception will not last; sincerity is the only true winning formula.
Before the words were even finished, a loud, shrewish voice suddenly rang out from directly in front: "Lin Rui Cong! As a leader, how dare you lead the way by smoking in the restaurant!"
"You knowingly committed this crime; get out of here!"
Seeing the girl charging towards him with her hands on her hips, Lin Rui Cong cursed under his breath, then smiled broadly and went to greet her, his old face beaming like an orange peel.
"My dear daughter! Dad was wrong! Dad will never smoke again."
As his daughter tied his hands behind his back and he was leaving, Lin Rui Cong turned back and winked at Gong Ye: "Go upstairs! Your dad is waiting for you on the fourth floor."
Miyano tried repeatedly to understand what "sincerity" meant, her fingertips trembling slightly, her five fingers unconsciously clenching together.
Xianxian is like the clear, bright moon in the sky, while he is like the rotten, filthy mud in the abyss.
One is the sky, the other is the abyss!
Is he going to tell the fairy that he is a short-lived madman who has been stripped of his emotions and desires, leaving only obsession, greed, and selfishness?
Miyano went up to the fourth floor, outside Feng Guang's guest room, and slowly slid down to sit on the floor, wrapping her hands around her knees and resting her forehead on them.
So, when Feng Guangyi opened the door after waiting for his son for a long time, he was met with a huge lump on the ground, and his expression became one of surprise and uncertainty.
"Is this... learning how to be a pile of shit?"
Miyano:……
He got up, pushed his elderly father aside, and quietly sat down in the single sofa. Feng Guang followed closely behind, circling his son and clicking his tongue in admiration.
Hiding the worry in his eyes, he sat at the foot of the bed with his arms crossed, grumbling, "You've lured away my future granddaughter-in-law, delaying my chance to hold my great-grandchild, and you're still complaining?"
Miyano closed his eyes briefly, suppressing the sudden surge of rage that had risen within him from the old man's words, his voice soft and hoarse:
"I'll find anyone else as my granddaughter-in-law, except her."
The old man couldn't understand this. What had this perfectly good girl done to offend this scoundrel?
"Let me tell you, this young lady is someone I, an old man, have personally taken a liking to. It's rare for your nephew to have a stroke of luck; he just called and asked me to help him..."
Halfway through his sentence, Feng Guang suddenly met Gong Ye's narrow eyes, which were filled with a fierce aura and slowly losing their rationality, turning them crimson. His lips slipped out, and his words took a sharp turn.
"They asked me to ask that woman if she'd be willing to be his stepmother!"
Okay, okay! He loses control as soon as Feng Bai is mentioned, and he even takes his anger out on the female comrades. Fine, he won't say anything more!
Miyano:……
In an instant, all his murderous aura dissipated. He bent his long legs slightly, interlaced his fingers, and pressed them against his forehead. "Dad! I've found the fairy I've been searching for all these years!"
