Duan Nianzhen was preoccupied with the rabbit meat that Li Hongwei had mentioned. As soon as she finished work, she greeted Guo Dongxu and was then lured away by Li Hongwei.
Duan Nianzhen and Zhai Qiaoyun had a fairly good relationship, which Guo Dongxu knew before. However, he did not expect that the two would still have contact after Zhai Qiaoyun married Li Hongwei.
When Guo Dongxu saw that it was Li Hongwei who came to pick up Duan Nianzhen for dinner, he kindly offered a few words of advice.

Li Hongwei noticed Guo Dongxu's expression, but he didn't take Guo Dongxu seriously. He only looked at Duan Nianzhen and said:
"It's an honor for our family that Nianzhen can come to our house for dinner. Qiaoyun just said that she wanted to talk with you all night. Let's go quickly, the rabbit meat won't taste good if it gets cold!"
"Really? Then let's go quickly, Brother Guo. I'm going to visit Qiaoyun's family, so you don't need to worry!"
"Okay, I got it. Don't miss the curfew, or no one will open the door for you!"
"I understand. If it gets too late, I'll stay at Qiaoyun's house for the night. It'll be fine!"
"Well...."
Guo Dongxu thought to himself, if his daughter were to become this stupid in the future, he would never let her go out.
He reminded her of the curfew, was he implying she shouldn't come back? He was clearly warning her to come back earlier.
"Why!"
Watching Duan Nianzhen's retreating figure, Guo Dongxu shook his head helplessly. He had done all he could; the rest was up to her fate. He could only hope that she would be blessed.
As Duan Nianzhen walked, she continued to complain to Li Hongwei.
"Brother Li, I never realized Brother Guo could be so talkative. We were just planning to say hello and leave, but he just wouldn't stop talking!"
"Well...."
Now it was Li Hongwei's turn to be speechless. Even he, an outsider, understood what Guo Dongxu meant: he was worried about the safety of this foolish woman. It was just a pity! It was like talking to a brick wall.
"Guo, the educated youth, has probably gotten older these past two years, so he talks a lot. Just let it go in one ear and out the other. After all, he's a local leader, so you have to give him some face!"
"Yeah, you're right. I'll pretend I didn't hear it from now on. Actually, Brother Guo is pretty good to me and takes good care of me. But, well, I just don't like people talking about me!"
"Okay, if you don't like it, then you don't like it. Let's go quickly, or the food will get cold!"
"Okay! Let's hurry up and go!"
Soon, the two arrived at Li Hongwei's house. Inside, Zhai Qiaoyun was sitting at the table, lost in thought, her eyes somewhat vacant.
"Thud"
The loud bang of the door opening startled Zhai Qiaoyun, who looked up to see Li Hongwei leading Duan Nianzhen in.
"Oh, it smells so good! Qiaoyun's cooking skills are getting better and better!"
As soon as Duan Nianzhen came in, she ran to Zhai Qiaoyun's side, reached out and grabbed Zhai Qiaoyun's arm, and said as if she were being coquettish.
"hiss..."
The wounds beneath her clothes were still throbbing, and Duan Nianzhen's embrace made the pain worse, causing Zhai Qiaoyun to hiss involuntarily.
"What's wrong? Did I hurt you?"
Upon hearing the voice, Duan Nianzhen immediately released her grip on Zhai Qiaoyun's arm and asked willingly.

After Duan Nianzhen finished speaking, her gaze was fixed on the table, where a large plate of fragrant wild rabbit meat was placed.

"Gulp"
Duan Nianzhen couldn't help but swallow.
Li Hongwei, with a gentle smile on his lips, looked at Duan Nianzhen and said:
"Sit down and eat. You've worked hard all day!"
"Then I'll gladly accept your hospitality. Thank you, Qiaoyun and Brother Li!"
The three sat down, and Duan Nianzhen picked up a piece of rabbit meat and started eating.
"Waaah... It's been so long since I've had such delicious rabbit meat, it's so good!"
As Duan Nianzhen ate, she kept muttering to herself. Just then, Li Hongwei pulled out a bottle of baijiu (Chinese liquor) from somewhere.
"It's a rare treat to have Nianzhen as a guest today. Let's have a drink together, firstly to celebrate my and Qiaoyun's wedding, and secondly to welcome Nianzhen to our home. We hope you'll come often in the future!"
After Li Hongwei finished speaking, he poured wine into all three bowls. Duan Nianzhen didn't want to drink; she only wanted to eat meat.
But since Li Hongwei had already said it, she felt embarrassed to refuse. Besides, the wine had already been poured, so she might as well have a little!
To be honest, this was Duan Nianzhen's first time drinking alcohol. With a mix of curiosity and excitement, she shakily picked up the porcelain bowl.
"Brother Li, I've never drunk alcohol before. I used to see my dad drink it all the time at home, but he wouldn't let me try it. Is this stuff really that good?"
