Chapter 127: The Taste of Melon
The Seventh Elder stood in front of the door, taking a deep breath, a strange glint flashing in her eyes.
"Sister?" Ye Fei tugged at the hem of her clothes when she saw that the Seventh Elder hadn't opened the door yet.
The Seventh Elder smiled, and without further hesitation, pushed open the door and entered.
The moment the three stepped into the inner room, Dai Xun closed the door behind them.
Ye Fei glanced around calmly. The interior was exquisitely decorated, with precious ink paintings hanging on the walls made of glass stone. A huge rosewood cabinet was filled with all kinds of decorations, brightly colored minerals, an ever-burning mermaid candle, a crystal-clear luminous pearl, and a domineering greatsword hidden in its sheath... everything was there.
Standing before the window, which was carved with strange patterns, Zhu Ying held a folding fan in one hand and gazed at the green lake and pavilion outside the window. Hearing footsteps, he slowly turned around.
Upon seeing that it was the Seventh Elder, Zhu Ying's expression froze for a moment, then he put on a seemingly kind smile: "So that's who could spend 20 million gold coins on a single pill. It turns out to be the elusive little Cheng Lan from Lingfeng Academy!"
The Seventh Elder stared at Zhu Ying, his face darkening: "Who gave you permission to address me like that?"
Standing behind the Seventh Elder, Ye Fei couldn't help but look at the Seventh Elder and Zhu Ying. Did the two know each other?
"Little Chenglan, after all, we have a tragic past. Now you won't even let me call you that?" Zhu Ying slowly walked up to the Seventh Elder, fanning himself with his fan, and said, feigning sadness, "Little Chenglan, you really do make me sad..."
Ye Fei and Li Yuan exchanged a glance, as if they could smell some juicy gossip!
A fierce glint flashed in the Seventh Elder's eyes. With a flick of her slender fingers, a sharp blade formed from dark spiritual energy appeared in her hand, which she held to Zhu Ying's neck!
She took a few steps forward and said in a cold voice, word by word, "If you joke with me again, don't blame me for cutting your neck first."
Zhu Ying closed his folding fan and gently moved the blade away from the Seventh Elder's hand, chuckling, "Alright, alright, I'm not joking anymore. You should withdraw your spiritual energy first, so as not to frighten the two children behind you..."
The Seventh Elder kept his eyes straight ahead, grabbed the blade with force, and the blade disappeared into dark spiritual energy: "Take out the herbs and pills we photographed."
Zhu Ying clapped his hands, and several beautiful women dressed identically to Dai Xun appeared, each carrying a tray.
"Little Fei'er, go and take inventory." The Seventh Elder gestured to Ye Fei.
Ye Fei walked up to Zhu Ying, bowed politely, and then began to count the items.
Zhu Ying rested her folding fan on her fair chin, secretly observing Ye Fei's every move. She then glanced at Li Yuan, who remained silent behind the Seventh Elder, and asked with some curiosity, "Little Cheng Lan, are these two your newly accepted disciples?"
The Seventh Elder pulled Li Yuan to his side: "This kid is my disciple."
"As for this little girl, she is not my apprentice, but my adopted sister!"
Zhu Ying was somewhat surprised: "Since you became the Seventh Elder, I have never heard of you taking anyone as a disciple."
As he spoke, he took elegant steps to stand in front of Li Yuan and looked him up and down, clicking his tongue and saying, "This boy... does look quite different from other children."
The Seventh Elder shoved Zhu Ying away, glaring at him: "Don't get so close!"
Ye Fei finished checking: "Sister, everything is ready."
Upon hearing this, Li Yuan took out a bulging money bag from the black ring on his slender index finger: "Steward, here are two thousand high-grade spirit stones, which is two million gold coins. Please take a look."
