Chapter 387 The Lake Bottom Realm 2

Chapter 387: The Lake Bottom Realm 2

What came into view was a desolate and barren land, and looking up, one could see a dim sky—but Ye Fei also guessed that this "sky" was nothing more than some kind of illusion or trickery.

Ye Fei closed her eyes to sense the nearby plants, but the ground was almost barren, and she couldn't feel any plants at all.

Let alone plants, perhaps even other living things...

"Is this the bottom of Blackwood Lake?" Ye Fei stood up and looked around. "Li, can you sense anything?"

Li Yuan brushed the dust off his robes, glanced around, and said coldly, "This seems to be an enclosed space."

"An enclosed space?" Ye Fei turned to look at him.

"A special technique, generally used to imprison criminals."

Ye Fei raised an eyebrow: "Imprison criminals? Then how come we fell down so easily?"

Li Yuan shook his head, indicating that he was also puzzled by this.

Ye Fei sighed. Mu Han and the others were still waiting for them to come ashore.

It seems we can only take it one step at a time for now; staying put won't solve anything.

So, Ye Fei reached out her hand to the boy behind her.

Li Yuan looked at her hand: "What?"

Ye Fei blinked her dark eyes, a smile playing on her lips: "Aren't you going to hold my hand?"

Looking at her innocent and pure expression, Li Yuan was silent for a few seconds before he suddenly raised his hand to cover his face.

Ye Fei found it strange, her gaze lingering on his reddened ear tips, and she immediately understood—he was shy again.

"Pfft! Hahaha..." Ye Fei couldn't help but laugh out loud. She absolutely adored his innocent and pure-hearted demeanor; it was just too cute!

After Ye Fei finished laughing, she took his hand and their fingers intertwined tightly. "Let's hurry up and find a way out. Don't keep the people up there waiting too long."

The two walked through the desolate wasteland, with no other sounds to be heard except for the sound of their footsteps.

Looking up at the dimly lit space, Ye Fei suddenly understood; this place was indeed very suitable for imprisoning criminals.

The space was vast, but utterly silent, devoid of any sign of life. Above was a murky, sunless sky, and below was barren, arid land. To be confined here for ten or twenty years would drive even the most resilient person insane.

After walking for a quarter of an hour, Ye Fei saw a well ahead of the road.

Upon closer inspection, the well was very deep, but the water inside had long since dried up.

Nothing special, just an ordinary well… Ye Fei didn’t observe it any further and was about to continue walking with Li Yuan when a blurry figure rose from the well and silently flew towards the two of them—

A cold glint flashed in Li Yuan's eyes. He suddenly flicked his sleeve and unleashed a surge of spiritual energy, which struck the blurry figure with a loud crack.

Ye Fei poked her head out from behind Li Yuan: "Something's up?"

There lay a small, somewhat transparent object on the ground. It struggled for a moment, then got up and roared at Li Yuan, "Aaaaah, you wretched little boy!"

With gray hair and a long goatee that almost reached the ground, he looked like a little old man.

He wore a black robe on his upper body, but strangely, he had no legs; below his waist was a swirling mass of air currents.

Is this... a spirit?

Ye Fei rubbed her eyes, thinking she had misread it.

Li Yuan stared at the old man expressionlessly: "What are you?"

The old man stood with his hands on his hips, glaring at him angrily: "I'm a piece of trash!"

Li Yuan: "..."
