Chapter 829 The Spirit Painter 2

Chapter 829: The Painting Spirit 2

Ye Fei took a sip of tea, her eyes seemingly calm, but a sharp glint was hidden deep within them: "I don't think we're familiar enough to tell each other our names."

Hua Ling picked up a piece of green vegetable and put it in her mouth, smiling leisurely: "It's alright, we can get to know each other slowly."

Ye Fei put down her teacup, her gaze towards Hua Ling filled with inquiry: "You deliberately came to me, didn't you?"

Upon hearing this, the entire private room fell into a deathly silence.

Ling stood up abruptly, one hand protecting Ye Fei in front of her, her eyes sharp and keen as she stared at Hua Ling.

When Hua Ling heard Ye Fei say that, she chuckled and placed the chopsticks on the table.

He crossed his legs, rested his chin on his hands, and asked with a hint of interest in his clear eyes, "Why do you say that?"

"The jade pendant that Helan Xuan went missing was actually in your possession from the beginning, wasn't it?"

"Oh? How do you know?" Hua Ling's lips curled into a nonchalant smile.

Ye Fei pointed to her sleeve and said slowly, "When you put your hand inside that man's clothes, I saw a small purple thing fall out of your sleeve."

"You acted very quickly, thinking that no one present would see the moment you framed him."

Ye Fei tapped the table lightly with one hand, while reaching to her earlobe with the other to touch the feather-shaped earring. Her voice gradually turned cold: "But unfortunately... even the most meticulous plans can have flaws."

Upon hearing this, Hua Ling remained smiling, showing no anger at being exposed, making it impossible to discern his true intentions.

“I’m not interested in why you stole Helan Xuan’s jade pendant or why you deliberately sought me out, but I still advise you not to try to have any ill intentions towards me—you may not be able to afford to offend me.”

Ye Fei took out a high-grade spirit stone from the storage ring on her finger and placed it on the table: "You keep your word. This meal is on me. Let's say goodbye here, and never see each other again."

After saying this, Ye Fei turned to leave the private room.

Just then, Hua Ling's beautiful voice rang out again: "You've said something wrong."

Ye Fei stopped stepping out of the private room and glanced sideways at Hua Ling.

Hua Ling picked up a meat bun, munching on it as she met Ye Fei's cold eyes: "I didn't steal that jade pendant. I just used a little trick to transfer it to my hands after it was stolen... that's all."

"As for the reason, it's because I'm very curious to know what else that man might do to avoid suspicion."

Hua Ling smiled nonchalantly: "What I like to do most is observe every human being."

"Humans are the most complex creatures in the world. They always have an endless variety of thoughts. They can neither be as purely evil as demons nor as loyal and devoted as monsters..."

“Every action of the human race is accompanied by scheming and conspiracy.”

The spirit smiled: "Do you think I'm right?"

Ye Fei stared intently at him: "Every word you say belittles the human race. Aren't you human?"

"I can be a person, or I can be a monster."

The boy pretended to be profound.

"..." Ye Fei was speechless. Why was this boy acting so strangely?

She didn't say anything more and walked out of the private room with Ling.

Hua Ling slowly walked to the window, her gaze fixed on the departing figure of the girl downstairs, a glint of unfathomable light flashing in her eyes:

"I never expected to see cultivators with sacred beasts as their attendants in such a barren little town... How interesting."
