Chapter 863: Your Highness the Lord
Mo Long's brows furrowed, and he barely managed to dodge the sudden attack of the feather blade.
With a crisp snap, the feather blade bypassed Mo Long and plunged fiercely into the palace gate behind him.
Upon seeing the feather blade, Mo Long was taken aback at first, but then he secretly breathed a sigh of relief and bowed to the corner where the feather blade had been launched: "Your Highness."
A flash of purple light appeared, and a tall figure slowly appeared in front of Mo Long.
The man wore a loose, dark purple robe that revealed a large expanse of his fair chest. Around his neck hung a light purple, fluffy scarf that stretched down to his waist like a fox's tail.
His dark hair was loosely tied and casually draped over his shoulders, with a feather-like ornament on each side of his temple, resembling a small wing—quite unique. His sword-like eyebrows slanted upwards, and he had phoenix eyes that emitted a faint, ethereal purple glow. Below his high, straight nose were thin lips with a pale cherry-red hue. It was an extremely alluring and seductive face.
The man squinted, his long, slender hand gently gripping the fluffy scarf hanging around his neck, and slowly said, "Mo Long, you're as agile as ever. It'll take some more effort to kill you."
His voice was low and husky, magnetic, like a bewitching fox whispering in the night, full of irresistible allure.
Upon hearing this, a faint sense of helplessness rose in Mo Long's eyes: "Your Highness, please don't joke with Mo Long."
The man chuckled and strode towards Mo Long, his nose slightly raised as he took a breath of his surroundings. "You went to the barrier gate? Did something happen there?"
Mo Long replied, "Your Highness, I just went to patrol the barrier gate and found nothing unusual."
"oh?"
The man drawled out the last syllable, and with his other hand he twirled Mo Long's hair at his temple, and said softly, "Mo Long, you really don't know how to lie."
Mo Long was slightly taken aback. The man released his hair, flicked his finger, and a ripple flew out from Mo Long's sleeve, swirling along his finger: "Although it was very faint, I still managed to detect that strange aura on you..."
"Mo Long, you don't want me to use mind reading on you, do you? You'd better tell me honestly."
Mo Long sighed, knowing he couldn't hide it any longer, and had no choice but to tell the truth: "A guard discovered a human girl at the third barrier gate."
The man raised an eyebrow upon hearing this: "A human girl?"
Humans, such fragile creatures, can also appear in the polar ice regions?
This is truly rare… A hint of interest flashed in the man’s eyes.
Seeing that his lord did not reply, Mo Long continued, "Your Highness, today is your engagement banquet, this matter is unimportant, therefore..."
"How can it be unimportant?" the man interrupted him lazily. "Since it appeared within my territory, it naturally has something to do with me."
"Where is that human girl you mentioned? I want to go see her."
Mo Long looked up at him, her face filled with astonishment: "But Your Highness, the engagement banquet is about to begin..."
The man slowly glanced at Mo Long, his tone noticeably colder than before: "Mo Long, you know perfectly well that I have no interest in the youngest daughter of the Hidden Clan Chief."
Mo Long quickly lowered his head, gritted his teeth, and forced out another sentence: "Your Highness! This is a marriage arranged for you by your ancestors. To go against their decision is a grave taboo!"
"Now, I am the lord of the Arctic region."
The man's face was gloomy, and his beautiful phoenix eyes narrowed dangerously, his pupils turning into vertical lines: "Whoever is the lord has the right to speak."
"Even my ancestors cannot restrict anything I do!"
