Chapter 13: Snatch the Little Princess

Without the disturbance of Concubine Shu, little sweet baby spent a few days carefree in Lingxiao Palace.

After having enough milk and food, her little face soon became chubby and her arms began to develop into white and tender lotus roots.

The eldest prince, the second prince, and the third prince went to the Imperial Academy to attend classes every day when they were six years old.

The idle little ones, Xiao Si, Xiao Wu, Xiao Liu and Xiao Qi, would sneak into Ling Xiao Palace every now and then to play with Tian Bao.

The foolish monarch originally aspired to be the best craftsman in Nanqiao Kingdom. However, after he had a heart-to-heart talk with the queen that day, he changed his first ambition and now he is determined to pamper his little sweet baby for the rest of his life.

So, contrary to everyone's expectations, the foolish ruler began to work diligently, but his efficiency was not high.

On this day, the morning court session ended after noon.

The emperor did not have time to eat, and went straight to the Lingxiao Palace to hug the little sweet baby.

Little did he know that before he even crossed the threshold, Xiao Qianzi came forward and reported, "Your Majesty, the Third and Fourth Princes wish to see you and have been waiting in the study for a long time."

"Why are they here?" The tyrant emperor was extremely surprised.

He had been on the throne for seven years, but his two unwilling brothers were so resentful that they never set foot in the palace again. He still regrets this to this day.

"The third and fourth princesses are here too. The Queen is inside with the two princesses visiting the little princess."

The tyrant emperor suppressed his longing for his sweet little baby, thought for a moment, and then excitedly went to the study.

In the study, the dumb prince and the paralyzed prince were fighting with their eyes. The silent contest had lasted for half an hour.

"Third brother, fourth brother!" The foolish emperor was filled with passion when he saw his two royal brothers.

The Third Prince glanced at the Fourth Prince provocatively, deliberately raised his leg and swung it in front of the Fourth Prince's eyes, then walked over and shook the tyrant's hand: "Aba Aba Aba!"

Tyrant Emperor: ...I don’t understand.

The Fourth Prince raised his hand and moved his fingers forward in a casual manner, and the guards immediately pushed the four-wheeled cart over.

The Fourth Prince spoke calmly, "It's noisy, like a crow cawing."

The Third Prince's face darkened and he stopped making noises.

The Fourth Prince then looked up at the tyrant emperor and said slowly, "I was initially dissatisfied with your gift of the throne, but I never imagined you would actually give birth to a little princess. Fifth Prince, now I am convinced, ahem."

He coughed for a while before stopping.

The reason why he was unable to go to the palace to congratulate earlier was because he was not in good health and only felt better today.

The foolish emperor chuckled and said, "It's not my child, it's the result of Concubine Shu's pregnancy."

"Aba Aba!" The Third Prince rolled his eyes at the Fourth Prince. Fortunately, he was prepared.

The reason why he failed to enter the palace to offer congratulations in time was to make these preparations.

There was a thick stack of papers on the desk, with big characters written on each sheet.

The Third Prince picked up the first one and held it up before the emperor's eyes: "Congratulations, Your Majesty, on the birth of the princess! Good luck to Nan Qiao!"

The foolish monarch felt warm in his heart: "Congratulations, sweetie, this little treasure is a treasure to all the brothers in our Xu family!"

"Aba Aba!" The third prince gave a thumbs up to the tyrant emperor and picked up the second piece of paper: You are really capable, unlike someone else.

The words on the paper were written in large letters, and the Third Prince deliberately tilted his head towards the Fourth Prince, so the Fourth Prince could see them clearly.

The Fourth Prince sneered, "You speak as if you can give birth to a daughter."

In their fight for the throne, none of the four brothers had time to have children, and the children they did have inadvertently died inexplicably during their intrigues and fights.

Before the tyrant ascended the throne, he was obsessed with being a carpenter and had no intention of having children, otherwise he would inevitably be dragged into the fight.

As the saying goes, an innocent man is guilty of possessing a treasure. If he had a son, he would definitely be targeted by his four royal brothers.

The Third Prince had not prepared the content of the quarrel in advance. He ran to the pile of papers and flipped through them for a while. He held up a piece of paper and walked up to the Fourth Prince in an aggressive tone: I only have one son.

The Fourth Prince rolled his eyes at him and said, "It's because you're not good enough. You can only have one son. Fifth brother is the best. He has a lot of sons and now even a daughter."

I'm full of envy, he doesn't even have any children.

The Third Prince's nose was crooked with anger, and he yelled at Zhang Fujin, writing furiously with his hand.

Zhang Fujin understood and quickly ground the ink himself.

When the Third Prince angrily went to write and argue, the Fourth Prince rolled his eyes at him, turned around and said to the tyrant, "I want to see the little princess. I've thought of several names for her these past few days. She's the first princess in Nanqiao's history. If the name isn't nice, our ancestors won't approve."

The names of the princes of the tyrant emperor who were listed in the family tree were all difficult to describe, and he was worried that the little princess's name would also be unpleasant to the ear.

As he spoke, he took out a neatly folded piece of paper from his pocket and said, "I have a good name, it's National Treasure..."

The foolish emperor interrupted him and raised his chin proudly: "I have chosen one. The nickname is Tianbao, and the full name is Xijinhuan."

The Fourth Prince paused as he was about to unfold the paper, and began to murmur repeatedly, "Have fun to your heart's content, sweet treasure, have fun to your heart's content, sweet treasure... Not bad, sounds better than National Treasure!"

Upon hearing this, the Third Prince rolled up the piece of paper he had just written, replaced it with another and handed it to Zhang Fujin: "When life is good, you should enjoy it to the fullest! Sounds good!"

Zhang Fujin hurriedly handed the paper to the emperor.

The Fourth Prince rarely curled up his lips. He hadn't smiled in so long that his smile was a little stiff. "Take me to see Xu Jinhuan, my sweet baby!"

The tyrant emperor couldn't wait to see his daughter, so he walked towards Lingxiao Palace with his hands behind his back.

The dumb prince didn't bother to write or argue, he just picked up the stack of written papers and chased after him.

Lingxiao Palace.

The two princesses scrambled to hold the little sweet baby. After the fourth princess got the baby, she was so happy that her eyes were glued to the baby's face: "Look at the little nose of the sweet baby, it's so upturned, it's obvious that she is a beauty."

"It's my turn to hold the baby. Oh! I'm so envious." The Third Princess has no children of her own. The only son in Prince Gong's Mansion was born to a concubine. She is very envious of the child.

Although the dumb prince has become more open-minded in the past two years, she still cannot force children. She thinks that maybe it is because she herself cannot have children. She has been taking medicine for treatment, and her mouth tastes bitter every day.

The Fourth Princess refused and turned her back to the Third Princess.

Her eyes sparkled: "Your Majesty, I have come here today to ask a favor."

The queen smiled slightly, like a spring breeze blowing across her face: "Don't be polite, Fourth Sister-in-law. If you have something to say, please tell me now."

She is graceful and elegant, but a gentle person at heart, and never puts on airs in front of her family.

The Fourth Princess' voice trembled with excitement as she asked, "Could Her Majesty please ask the Emperor to adopt the little princess to our Jingwang Mansion? I'm sure the Queen knows about the prince's situation. The Jingwang Mansion would be lonely without a child. The Jingwang Mansion doesn't want a son, only a daughter."

If a prince is adopted, he might even fight with the other princes for the throne when he grows up. If he can't win, he'll die anyway. Wouldn't that be a waste of time? Daughters are better; they won't have to worry about that.

The Lingxiao Palace fell silent in an instant.

The Queen looked at the Fourth Princess in disbelief.

The Third Princess was anxious and said impatiently, "Your Majesty, I came here for this matter. Please let me raise the little princess. The Prince Gong Mansion has experience in raising children."

"You entered the palace to snatch the little princess from me?" The tyrant emperor, who had just stepped into the Lingxiao Palace, turned around and glared at the mute and the paralyzed man in anger.
