Chapter 333: The Look a Man Gives a Woman

Chapter 333: The Look a Man Gives a Woman

"Nonsense! The child is still so young. Why would she go so far away when she can't just stay at home with the child?"

Robert found an opportunity to talk to his father about sending his wife and children to a warmer climate to live for a while. Before he could finish his words, he was scolded by the Duke, who said he was not a good father and not a good husband who could shock his wife. The Duke almost wrote the word "coward" in his eyes.

"I'm just making a suggestion. If you don't agree, then forget it." Robert really wanted to have a big quarrel with his father, but he just couldn't muster up the courage to do so.

"Did Lianna ask you to say that?" The Duke looked at his son. This was his only son, but he had been living away from home since he was a child and he had not been able to raise him personally. His son had developed a temperament that he did not like very much, which made Duke William very sad.

"Liana is in poor health, especially after giving birth. I feel sorry for her, so..."

"Hmph, she got plastic surgery right after giving birth. It's her own fault. I don't agree with it. Instead of trying to dissuade her, you condone her. After all, she was ugly to begin with. Why did she have to--" Remembering that Robert had mentioned before that Lianna was disfigured, Duke William paused and said nothing more.

"Then forget about this matter. Father, I have something else to discuss with you."

"Go ahead." Duke William looked at his son with a hint of relief in his eyes, thinking that his son had something important to discuss with him.

Finally, Robert suggested giving Carol a villa as a wedding gift so that the couple could move out and live alone.

Duke William's expression, which had improved slightly, suddenly darkened, and he said coldly, "Did your mother ask you to do this?"

"No, this is my personal idea. As Carol's brother, I should give her a wedding gift." But Robert didn't have so much money on hand. The Duke was his father, and all the property he owned would be his in the future. It wasn't excessive to ask his father for money for a house now.

Duke William didn't mind his son asking him for money, but it was such a coincidence that both mother and son disliked their daughter and son-in-law living at home, which made Duke William very unhappy: "I will give Carol an apartment in your name, but they must live in William Manor. I don't care why you don't like them, you can't show it. You are the elder brother. If you don't have this kind of broad-mindedness, how can you inherit the family business in the future?"

"Okay." Robert sighed. There was no way to talk about this matter.

Even after so many years since he came back to be his family, he still hasn't been able to accomplish anything in front of his father.

"Brother, didn't you say you would give Alou and me a villa so we could move out and live alone? Did you forget?"

After staying there for two days, under Lu Lou's guidance, Carol asked Robert about the villa in front of Duke William, which put Robert in a very embarrassing situation.

"Carol, you and A Lou don't need to move out. As for the villa, I'll ask my secretary to bring a few for you to choose from this afternoon. If there's one you like, just tell me." After Duke William finished speaking, he put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth with a tissue, stood up and left, taking his secretary to the company.

"I'm full too, Robert. Come with me to see the children." Mrs. William took Robert out of the restaurant.

So, only Lu Lou, Carol, and Duke William's sister-in-law and nephew and niece were left in the spacious and luxurious restaurant.

"Carol, you are so bold that you actually asked the prince who just returned to give you a villa as a wedding gift." Duke William's nephew Eds looked at Carol with a playful look. It was not the look of a brother to his sister, but the look of a man to a woman.

Lu Lou swung his chopsticks and threw the soft poached egg on the plate at Edes's face. He said softly, "Sorry, I really hate it when people talk during meals. I got angry and my hand slipped. Please forgive me."
