Chapter 560 Now I’m a Free Agent

Chapter 560 Now I’m a Free Agent

"I need to ask Shishi what she thinks first." After saying that, Xu Lingwei hung up the phone and dialed Gu Shi's number instead.

After hearing Xu Lingwei's plan, Gu Shi said, "Sure, let's have dinner together. I'll also not have dinner with my cousins."

Gu Shi is a quiet and introverted person. She has only two or three close friends in her life and rarely plays with Fu Chengze.

"Then I'll pick you up! See you at the usual place." After hanging up the phone, Xu Lingwei drove to the top dance studio in Jinghai, where Gu Shi worked as a dance teacher.

When they arrived at the dance studio, Xu Lingwei followed Gu Shi around the studio, and then sat in Gu Shi's office and chatted for a while.

Gu Shi showed her talent for dancing when she was three years old. When she saw children dancing on TV, she would dance along with them, and every posture was very standard. Grandma Gu slapped her thigh and asked Gu Hai and Yan Siyu to find a good dance class for her child. From then on, Gu Shi started her dancing career. She also chose classical dance in college. She has a classical temperament, elegant and graceful. Since middle school, she has received a lot of love letters.

But Gu Shi was quiet and low-key, the kind of beauty who was unaware of her own beauty. After graduation, she didn't join a well-known dance troupe, but instead chose to teach at a dance institution. She quietly told Xu Lingwei that she didn't have big ambitions; she just wanted to be a teacher. With two vacations a year, she could stay home with her grandmother, parents, and occasionally travel. She was content with that. If she met someone she loved, they could get married.

However, Gu Shi had seen her father being devoted and affectionate to her mother since she was a child, and she had also seen the elders around her being the same. She felt that her requirements for love were a bit high, and she might not be able to find a partner.

It was almost noon when Xu Lingwei drove Gu Shi to Zhenjing Pavilion. In Jinghai, the most romantic place to dine was Zhenjing Pavilion, which was founded by Fu Chengze.

There is a fixed number of private rooms open every day at Zhenjing Pavilion, and customers usually reserve a seat three days in advance, otherwise they will definitely not be able to eat at Zhenjing Pavilion.

Xu Lingwei went through Fu Chengze's back door and finally managed to get a private room.

The dance studio was near Zhenjing Pavilion, about a ten-minute drive away. Xu Lingwei sent a message to Fu Chengze on WeChat, and Fu Chengze replied, "You guys order first. My brother and I will be here in about ten minutes."

"Okay!" Xu Lingwei hung up the phone, took Gu Shi's arm and walked into Zhenjing Pavilion. As soon as they passed through the revolving crystal door, a cold female voice floated over from the side. Xu Lingwei blinked, the voice sounded slightly familiar.

“Is this a place you can come to?”

Xu Lingwei has always been kind to others since she grew up, and others respect her. The only person who speaks to her in such a harsh and contemptuous tone is Mrs. An.

Mrs. An finally used her connections to reserve a private room at Zhenjing Pavilion, intending to treat Mrs. Fu to a dinner. She came to the lobby early to wait, but she didn't expect to run into her son's ex-girlfriend in such a high-end place. Mrs. An was very dissatisfied. She suspected that Xu Lingwei went to such a place to find an opportunity to get involved with Anyang again.

"Why do you speak to Sister Lingwei in that tone?" Mrs. An's eyes were filled with contempt for Xu Lingwei. When Gu Shi saw this, she was so angry that her whole face turned cold.

Mrs. An looked at Gu Shi's classical face and confirmed that she was not the daughter of a famous family in Jinghai's upper class circle. She ignored Gu Shi as if she were air and her eyes fell on Xu Lingwei who was wearing a mask:

"I'm warning you once again, don't dream of Anyang getting back together with you. There's no way this will work out because of the difference in social class. The position of mistress of the An family isn't something a powerless little girl like you can handle. Do you understand?"

Xu Lingwei frowned, "Do I need to understand you? What does it have to do with you that I'm here? I'm not here for Anyang."

"Of course, we are here to eat. By the way, Sister Lingwei, who is Anyang?" Gu Shi was so angry that she started to talk more.

Xu Lingwei: "Anyang, my ex-boyfriend!"

"Are you in love?" Gu Shi's eyes lit up, then dimmed again, because she had just heard clearly that Anyang was the son of the uncultured middle-aged woman in front of her, and she looked down on Sister Lingwei.

It seems that Sister Lingwei encountered the evil mother-in-law who was rumored to be the one who broke up the couple.

Xu Lingwei sighed. "We dated for a week, and we broke up the day after I returned home. Now, I'm a freelancer and have nothing to do with Anyang."

She looked nonchalant, as if Anyang was a nobody, which angered Mrs. An. Because, in Mrs. An's eyes, Xu Lingwei was probably a gold digger who was trying every possible way to get close to Anyang.

"You said you wouldn't contact Anyang again, so why are you here? Zhenjing Pavilion isn't a place for ordinary people like you to come."

Xu Lingwei raised his eyebrows. "Why can't an ordinary person like me come? The owner of Zhenjing Pavilion didn't say that ordinary people are not allowed to come. As long as you make an appointment, you can come!"

"Huh, do you have money?" Mrs. An smiled sarcastically.

Gu Shi listened silently, vaguely understanding something, "Sister Lingwei, so she doesn't know your identity? She thinks you're just an ordinary person."

Xu Lingwei: "I'm just an ordinary person. My parents taught me since I was a child that I shouldn't think I'm superior just because my family has a little money. Counting back three generations, we're all farmers. Why should I be so arrogant?"

Gu Shi smiled, "That's right."

She only interacted with a few wealthy relatives in her family and had never met with any wealthy children outside of them. Seeing Mrs. An's rude and arrogant behavior today, Gu Shi found it really interesting. Could it be that the An family started out as a nouveau riche family?

"By the way, Shishi, she also said that I am not worthy of being her daughter-in-law. Only the only daughter of the president of the Shen family is qualified to marry her son."

Gu Shi widened her eyes and looked at Mrs. An, "You really are a dreamer."

Mrs. An didn't expect Gu Shi to dare to laugh at her. "I'm telling the truth. How could a woman like you understand the power of wealthy marriages? Come on, kick these two guys out who have no money to spend."

Mrs. An signaled the waiter at Zhenjing Pavilion to drive the people away.

The waiter came over and explained, "Mrs. An, if these two ladies have reserved a private room, we have no right to drive them away. Besides, they are not here to cause any trouble."

The last sentence seemed to be referring to Xu Lingwei and Gu Shi, but Mrs. An realized that the waiter was secretly hinting to her.

Mrs. An was unconvinced and pointed at Xu Lingwei, "There's no way she could get an appointment!"

“No matter who can’t make an appointment, she will.”

A calm and elegant female voice came from the gate of Zhenjing Pavilion.

The waiter looked up and immediately greeted her respectfully: "Madam."

Yan Nuo nodded slightly, "You go ahead and do your work, I'll take care of this."

Hearing this, the waiter secretly breathed a sigh of relief and quickly ran away. Besides the good benefits, the most attractive thing about working here is that no one looks down on you. Even if customers give waiters like them a hard time, the boss will still protect them.
