Chapter 52

When Shen Jingan saw Su Jinyu, who was wearing a black and red cheongsam, his steps suddenly stopped, and the whole person seemed to be frozen.

His eyes widened, filled with shock and surprise.

He had never thought that black suited this woman so well. The black cheongsam made her skin look as white as jade and as white as snow, and her lips were flaming red. She was like a rose blooming in the dark night, emitting fatal temptation, but with sharp thorns that made people dare not approach easily.

The moment he saw Su Jinyu, Shen Jingan felt an inexplicable hope in his heart.

Maybe she changed her mind and came to save the marriage?

This thought flashed through his mind, making his heart beat faster.

Shen Jing'an took a deep breath, trying to look calmer. He stepped forward, forced a smile on his face, and called softly, "Jinyu... why are you here..."

There was a hint of expectation and caution in his voice.

However, Su Jinyu walked past him without even glancing at him and headed straight for the restaurant.

Her steps were steady and firm, and every step seemed to be stepping on Shen Jingan's heart.

She came to the restaurant and bowed slightly to Mr. Shen, her attitude was respectful, and her voice was clear but steady: "Uncle Shen, I'm here to discuss divorce."

Her eyes were fixed on Teacher Shen, without any retreat.

Teacher Shen was eating breakfast leisurely, but when he heard this, his movements paused slightly.

He slowly put down the cutlery in his hand, picked up the handkerchief, wiped the corners of his mouth, and said calmly: "This is a matter between you two young people, you don't need to tell me."

His tone was calm, yet it carried an unquestionable majesty.

Su Jinyu knew clearly that the Shen family was headed by Master Shen. Since she came to investigate this time, she naturally had to talk to this core figure of the Shen family.

She stood up again, her tone sincere but also with a hint of insistence: "Uncle Shen, you are the one who facilitated my marriage to Shen Jingan. Now that we are getting divorced, you can also be a witness."

Teacher Shen raised his eyes and looked at Su Jinyu with a sharp gaze like a falcon, trying to find a trace of hesitation under her firm expression.

He was silent for a moment, tapping his fingers lightly on the table, making a rhythmic sound, breaking the brief silence in the restaurant: "Divorce is not a trivial matter, Jinyu, have you thought it through?"

Teacher Shen's voice was low and carried the majesty of a person in authority.

Su Jinyu straightened his back and met Mr. Shen's gaze without fear. He sneered in his heart, but his face was still respectful: "Uncle Shen, I have made up my mind. For Jing An and me, this marriage is better to part ways amicably than torment each other."

She deliberately emphasized the word "torture", and her tone subtly revealed her dissatisfaction with this marriage.

Teacher Shen raised his eyes and moved his gaze from Su Jinyu's face to Shen Jing'an. He noticed that his son's face became increasingly gloomy, like the sky before a storm, depressing and dark.

"Have you made up your mind?" Teacher Shen asked, his voice low and calm, yet carrying an unquestionable majesty.

Shen Jing'an stood aside, feeling mixed emotions.

He was angry at Su Jinyu's determination to divorce. The anger was burning in his chest, almost making him lose his mind. He was also embarrassed by the divorce conditions he had proposed before, as if his ugly scars had been exposed in public.

He and his father had discussed the divorce repeatedly in private, and thought everything was under control. However, facing Su Jinyu's relentless pressure, he was a little panicked.

Hearing his father's question, he gritted his teeth and nodded in agreement with his father, his voice carrying a hint of reluctance and helplessness: "I've thought about it. I've already told her the conditions for the divorce."

Su Jinyu seemed to have expected such a conversation. The corners of her mouth curled up slightly, revealing a confident smile. That smile was like a flower blooming in spring, bright and moving, yet concealing a sharp edge.

She spoke slowly, her voice clear and pleasant, yet with a power that could not be ignored: "Uncle Shen, do you know the divorce conditions he proposed?"

Teacher Shen shook his head slightly, his expression still as calm as water, making it hard to tell what he was thinking: "Just discuss it with each other."

His tone was indifferent, and he didn't seem to want to get too involved in the affairs between young people.

Su Jinyu saw this and immediately struck while the iron was hot. Her tone became more sincere, even with a hint of flattery: "We had some problems in our discussion, so I asked Uncle Shen to make a judgment... Besides, divorce is a matter between Shen Jingan and I. It was my fault that we had an unpleasant quarrel before. I shouldn't have ruined the comradeship between you and Marshal Father."

As she spoke, she leaned slightly forward, her attitude showing great respect.

Teacher Shen waved his hands and smiled faintly, with a hint of nostalgia for past friendship in his smile: "Your father and I have a lot of feelings for each other. We have been through life and death together. Your little affairs can't ruin the relationship between us."

There was a firmness in his voice, as if he was declaring to Su Jinyu that the friendship between him and Marshal Su was indestructible.

"Yes, yes, yes."

Su Jinyu quickly responded, still wearing that humble smile on her face, "My father also said so, let us solve this marriage by ourselves, he will not interfere anymore."

She paused, as if thinking about how to phrase it, "So, I came to talk to you, Uncle Shen, in person, just to solve this problem once and for all."

After listening to this, Mr. Shen pondered for a moment, and finally nodded: "Okay."

A group of people came to the hall and sat down one after another.

Su Jinyu took a pile of account books and a law book from Aunt Wu calmly, her movements were graceful and calm, as if she was performing a carefully prepared performance.

"Two days ago, Shen Jing'an said that the condition for divorce was that I hand over my dowry..."

As Su Jinyu spoke, she took out four books from the account book and gently placed them on the table. There was a barely perceptible sadness in her eyes. "This is my dowry list. There are many things left by my late mother in it. I have to take them away..."

Her voice trembled slightly, as if her heart was filled with longing and reluctance when she recalled her mother.

Then, she turned to the page about divorce in the code and began to read it carefully: "The marriage property system consists of marriage property and joint property. Shen Jingan and I have been married for several months, and we have not created or accumulated any property together, so we have no joint property. So the only thing left is the marriage property, which is the married life property agreed upon by both parties before marriage."

Her voice was clear and coherent, and every word she uttered seemed to be carefully considered.

"Regarding the prenuptial agreement, I think everyone knows that we signed the prenuptial property. The businesses under my name have nothing to do with the Shen family. The dowry is indeed part of the nuptial property..."

Su Jinyu continued, her eyes moving from Teacher Shen to Shen Jing'an, "But, the divorce condition you requested is to take away my dowry. Isn't that illegal... Logically, you should take half."

Shen Jing'an didn't expect Su Jinyu to be able to calculate so clearly, and the anger and unwillingness in his heart surged again.

His face turned livid, veins popped out on his forehead, and he said, "You're the one who wanted a divorce. If you don't agree, just wait!"
