Chapter 11 Mountain Goods Business

Perhaps it was because the appearance of rural areas had remained largely the same for decades. Standing on the streets of Luoshui County, Su Qingyun truly felt the huge gap brought about by the times.

The dusty road was relatively flat, with occasional tractors, ox carts and bicycles passing by. As for cars, there were almost no cars. The houses on the roadside were not the high-rise buildings that stand side by side in later generations. The tallest was only three or four stories high.

"That's the department store over there," Su Aimin said, pointing to a three-story building in the distance. "Yunyun, go take a look and buy whatever you want."

"What about you?" Su Qingyun asked.

Su Aimin touched his nose and said, "Dad has something to do. You go shopping first. I'll come to find you later." The public security in the county town is still good. His daughter is not young anymore and she is not dependent on adults.

"No, Dad, I want to go with you." Su Qingyun looked at the chicken in her father's hand and understood.

Su Aimin thought about it and nodded, "Okay." He was a little worried about leaving Yunyun alone.

He looked around and said, "Let's go over there."

Su Qingyun followed her father around and through countless alleys. They stopped at the door of a house and knocked gently.

Soon, a neatly dressed woman opened the door a crack.

She whispered, "Coming?"

"Take a look." Su Aimin handed over the fattest old hen he bought from his elder sister.

The woman's eyes lit up, and she took the chicken in surprise, looking from side to side. "This is so well-fed! You actually found such a fat old hen."

Su Aimin smiled naively, "I went to the village specifically to find this. It's a very fat chicken. Look, how much is it?"

The woman waved her hand nonchalantly. "It's five yuan, and since your chicken is so good, I'll give you an extra fifty cents. How about that?"

Five and a half dollars for a chicken is almost a very high price, but it is too difficult to buy a high-quality old hen raised in the countryside in the city, so the price offered is not too outrageous.

"Okay! Thank you, sister." Su Aimin agreed readily.

The woman counted the money and handed it to him, then looked at Su Qingyun who was standing beside her.

"Is this your daughter? She is so pretty." She thought for a moment and went back in, grabbing a few candies for Su Qingyun.

"Thank you, Auntie." Su Qingyun smiled brightly and thanked her quickly.

"Sister, tell me if you need anything next time, and I will definitely help you find it." Su Aimin is not a one-size-fits-all business person.

"Okay." The woman nodded. The guy is sweet-talking and the product is good. Everyone would be happy to do such a deal.

After selling the chicken, Su Qingyun followed her father around and sold all the poultry. They were careful not to attract anyone's attention, just like guerrilla warfare.

"Five, six, seven... seventeen, eighteen..." Su Aimin counted the money happily, then thought for a moment, "After deducting the cost, it should be..."

"Twelve dollars and thirty cents." Su Qingyun said silently.

"Hey! It's true!" Su Aimin carefully calculated and found that it was indeed the number. He rubbed his daughter's head and said, "Yunyun is so smart! She really takes after me."

Su Qingyun looked up at the sky. Now the monthly salary of a regular worker in a factory is about 30 yuan, or 12.30 yuan. Her father earned half a month's salary of others every time he went to the city.

What she didn't know was that something even more shocking was yet to come.

"Brother Aimin, you are finally here." The father and daughter were walking when a person suddenly jumped out from the corner of the street, and Su Qingyun was startled.

The man who came had a pointed face and a shrewd expression. He looked at Su Qingyun and was also stunned for a moment.

"This is my daughter, Su Qingyun, Yunyun. You can just call her Uncle Nan." Su Aimin gave a brief introduction.

Yuan Nan tutted his words twice. "Brother Aimin, you weren't lying when you said your daughter was pretty. Oh my god, who does she take after? It must be her sister-in-law, right?"

"Go to hell." Su Aimin's face darkened and he looked around. "Where's the stuff?"

Speaking of business, Yuan Nan's face became serious. "Here." He pointed to the alley.

Su Qingyun looked over and saw a load hidden in the dark. The two baskets were covered with plastic sheets. They were bulging and no one knew what was inside.

This really looks like... a trading scene. Su Qingyun was amused by his own thoughts.

"Yunyun, just stand at this street corner and wait for me. Your uncle Nan and I are going to do something." Su Aimin instructed.

She nodded obediently.

Su Qingyun watched Yuan Nan pick up the load, and the two crossed the street and walked diagonally across. She had good eyesight and could see clearly at a glance that it was the Luoshui County Steel Plant.

She saw the two men put down their burdens, talk to the man who came out, take the money and put it in their pockets, then quickly leave the steel plant gate.

Judging from the skilled posture, this shouldn't be the first time.

Her father also has such a way? Su Qingyun was really surprised. This was different from selling poultry to those individual farmers just now. Her father was able to sell the products to the factory. In a sense, it was a clear way forward and the risk was much smaller.

Just as she was thinking about it, her father had already returned. Uncle Nan said hello and left quickly.

"Come on, Yunyun, Dad will take you shopping!" Su Aimin waved his hand generously. If you make money, you will be rich and powerful.

"Dad, you can actually sell things to the steel mill, that's awesome!" Su Qingyun gave a thumbs up and praised.

Su Aimin looked around and lowered his voice, "That man just now, he works in the purchasing department of the steel plant. He is also the younger brother of the brother-in-law of the nephew of your grandmother's niece's uncle's third uncle. He is a relationship that your father had to work hard to find."

He looked very proud.

Su Qingyun: ...

This relationship is really distant, the kind that you can't find even if you search the family tree to pieces, right? Su Qingyun probably doesn't even know how to figure out this relationship.
