"You...you too?" Chen Zheyu was at a loss for words, his mind in a mess.
"Yes." Su Qingyun nodded affirmatively, "The teacher asked me to come to you."
Chen Zheyu's instinctive reaction was disbelief. He hadn't been in touch with his teacher for years, so how could someone suddenly show up claiming to be his student? Besides, the teacher was no longer a teacher, so why would he still be accepting students?
But looking at the girl's clear eyes, Chen Zheyu couldn't say anything doubtful. There was no reason for a little girl to go around in circles to lie to him, right?
"What does the teacher ask you to do?" he asked.
"The teacher asked me to bring you something." Su Qingyun took out two thick notebooks from her cross-body bag and handed them to him.
"What is this?" Chen Zheyu took the notebook, opened it puzzledly, and was stunned at the first glance.
The notebook was densely covered with the teacher's handwriting, which contained many formulas, theorems and inferences. It did not look like it was written in a planned manner, but rather like daily essays, where he wrote down whatever he thought of.
Su Qingyun explained with a smile: "These are some of the research conclusions that the teacher has made in the past few years. He knew I was coming here, so he asked me to pass these on to you."
"The teacher knows you're currently working in education, so he hopes these things can be helpful to you. He told me that you're one of the few students he has who truly loves math, so even if he can't continue teaching you, he hopes you can go further and further on the path of math and never give up."
Chen Zheyu looked at the two notebooks. Every number and symbol on them was the result of his teacher's hard work, but he gave them to him so easily. It was not for anything else, but just hoped that he could get better and better.
But what did he do when his teacher was worried about him? Day after day, he lived in a daze, shrinking from the dangers of a good opportunity. He almost gave up mathematics.
He really...felt ashamed of his teacher's kindness.
He pressed the notebook hard against his chest with one hand and covered his face with the other. Chen Zheyu squatted on the ground, his covered face full of pain and regret. Crystal tears flowed from between his fingers and his whole body trembled.
"Senior brother, are you okay?" Su Qingyun was startled and asked hurriedly with concern.
"I'm fine." After a long while, Chen Zheyu finally replied. He raised his head, his eyes red. "Teacher, is he... okay?"
"He's doing fine." Su Qingyun nodded. "He's currently working in the library, reading books and drinking tea every day. He's living a good life."
Chu Xianming is a contented person. He has never expressed dissatisfaction with life or current circumstances in front of Su Qingyun. He is an open-minded person by nature. For him, ups and downs are all necessary parts of life.
Chen Zheyu finally calmed down a bit after hearing that his teacher was doing well. He returned to Su Qingyun's side and spoke in a more friendly tone, "So how did you get to know the teacher?"
"Of course we met when I was borrowing books from the library. I borrowed a lot of math books at that time, and the teacher gave me some questions he had made out of curiosity..." Su Qingyun slowly recounted how she and Chu Xianming met.
Chen Zheyu laughed, "Teachers are like that. He'll constantly give questions to whoever he likes and sees talent in."
"Yes." Su Qingyun also smiled, "Then the teacher accepted me as a student."
She slowly talked about her interactions with Chu Xianming and the interesting things that happened there, and Chen Zheyu's frown gradually relaxed.
"Very good." Chen Zheyu had a relaxed smile on his face.
Su Qingyun looked at the time and it was getting late. "Then, Senior Brother, I'll leave first."
"Okay." Knowing that she had something important to do, Chen Zheyu didn't say anything.
Chen Zheyu watched her back gradually disappear into the distance. He took a deep breath and made up his mind.
"Where have you been? Who was that girl just now?" Seeing him come back, his colleague winked and asked, "Did someone introduce you to her?"
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Chen Zheyu frowned, paused, and then said, "How do I sign up for that math talent group you just mentioned?"
My colleague's eyes widened instantly. "Have you thought it through? Have you changed your mind?"
"Yeah." Chen Zheyu nodded solemnly.
It's time for him to try hard, not only for his teacher's earnest hope, but also for the young, promising self who loved mathematics.
Su Qingyun returned to the department store and Ji Yue was waiting for her at the door.
"Is it done?"
"Yeah." Su Qingyun looked at the bag in his hand, "What did you buy?"
"I just bought some random things." Ji Yue said, "and your book."
He took out two latest mathematics magazines from his bag and gave them to her.
"It's the latest issue, so good!" Su Qingyun asked in surprise, "How much is it? I'll give it to you."
Ji Yue didn't refuse and said a number.
"Let's go, let's go back, otherwise Teacher Qin will nag us again." Su Qingyun said.
"good."
Just as the two were about to leave, they heard a scream from the side.
"Catch the small questions!"
Su Qingyun subconsciously looked in the direction of the sound and saw a man in black running from a distance with a bag in his hand, followed by a woman chasing him desperately.
By the time Su Qingyun saw the woman's face clearly, his body had already moved faster than his brain and he stretched out his legs. As he ran to the man in black in front of him, he tripped and almost fell to the ground.
He glared at Su Qingyun fiercely and was about to run away again when Su Qingyun made a lightning-fast move. He grabbed his right hand holding the bag with his left hand, tilted his foot, twisted his body and bent his waist, using the force of the opponent's attack to counter the opponent's attack. The man was thrown over his shoulder and fell heavily to the ground.
