Chapter 205: Deep into the Tiger's Den

"I don't want to stay here anymore. Please, take me away!" The girl was still gesturing anxiously.

Su Qingyun comforted her, "Wait a little longer, the police will be here soon."

"Why? Why do we have to wait?" Tears welled up in the girl's eyes. "It will be time for dinner soon, and I'll get beaten again."

She pulled up her sleeves, and Su Qingyun's pupils shrank. The girl's fair arms were covered with blue and purple scars, which was shocking to look at.

Su Qingyun was furious. They were so cruel. Didn't these people have any conscience? The evil of human nature really frightened her.

She tried hard to suppress her anger, "Wait a moment. If you leave now, they'll probably send the other girls away when they find out, and they won't be able to leave."

Su Qingyun knew that she shouldn't ask others to sacrifice themselves for others, but if she really left, the remaining girls would be in danger. She only asked her to wait a little longer. If it really didn't work, they would still find a way to rescue them.

But the girl had been locked up for so long that she was already scared out of her wits. Now that she finally had a chance to escape, she didn't care about anything else. When she saw that Su Qingyun and the others did not agree to take her away, her eyes suddenly changed.

The girl looked at the two men with resentful eyes and gestured with her hands, "Get out of the way, I'll go by myself."

She really couldn't stand staying in this hellish place any longer. She couldn't imagine how sad her parents would be after she had been missing for so long. Thinking of this, she couldn't stay there for even a second.

Su Qingyun and Ji Yue looked at each other silently and made way. They could choose not to take the girl with them, but they had no way of restraining her from leaving by herself.

A look of joy appeared on the girl's face, and she climbed out of the window with great effort.

The sun outside shone on the girl. The girl, who had not seen the sun for a long time, shivered. She looked around, a little confused, not knowing which way to go, but she knew where Lao Wu was in the front yard, and she definitely could not go there.

"Go that way." Su Qingyun couldn't bear it and pointed to the hole in the wall.

The girl was stunned and a little surprised. She hesitated for a moment, clenched her fist, raised her thumb and pressed it down, which meant thank you.

Su Qingyun and Ji Yue watched her carefully walk towards the hole.

Su Qingyun and Ji Yue moved to the side and looked at Lao Wu who was still sitting on the chair.

"What should we do?" Ji Yue frowned.

Su Qingyun also looked unhappy. "Just now she said that it's almost time for dinner. Lao Wu will definitely deliver food to every room. He will soon notice that there is someone missing here."

Ji Yue: "Why don't we go out first? If they find out that there are fewer people and want to move the other girls away, we can follow them."

"No." Su Qingyun shook his head, rejecting his idea. "First of all, we don't know what means of transportation they will use if they move to another place. How can we follow them? Secondly, even if we catch up, if my mother brings the police here, they will find nothing. We won't be able to contact them and provide them with any information."

To be able to transfer so many people at once, they must have a large means of transportation, most likely a truck or a van.

Ji Yue frowned and nodded in agreement. Indeed, once a person left, the direction of events would become unpredictable.

Just when the two were at a loss as to what to do, they saw Lao Wu suddenly stand up and take out a bunch of keys from his belt.

Oh no! He must be coming to open the door!

Su Qingyun's face changed drastically. Before Ji Yue could react, she had already run back to the window, pushed herself up with her arms, and jumped into the room.

Ji Yue reacted quickly, but it was too late. He watched with bloodshot eyes as the window was suddenly closed in front of him.

He understood Su Qingyun's intention almost instantly. She wanted to replace the deaf and mute girl who had escaped. This was too dangerous!

Ji Yue wanted to call her, but he didn't dare to make a sound, because he had already heard Lao Wu walking to the front of the room and taking the key to open the door!

He was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, but Su Qingyun in the room was very calm.

She picked up a handful of dust from the ground, quickly smeared it on her face, ruffled her hair and rolled on the ground. After her clothes became messy and dirty, she retreated into the corner, buried her head, and her hair hung down so that her face could not be seen at all.

Su Qingyun was not without confidence in doing this. She had just discovered that she and the girl were about the same height and weight, and wore the same color clothes. Thank God, there were not so many strange styles of clothes in this era. In order to make it easier to ride, she just wore casual clothes.

The room was dark, and she had painted her face black, so with a little disguise she shouldn't be able to tell.

When the sound of the key turning the door lock came, Su Qingyun's heart instantly rose to his throat and his whole body tensed up.

It was Lao Wu who opened the door. He was holding a basin in his hand. In the basin were some rough steamed buns and a few shriveled sweet potatoes. He casually glanced at Su Qingyun who was burying his head in the corner, and found nothing wrong.

"You dead mute, it's time to eat." Lao Wu cursed and threw a steamed bun and a sweet potato at Su Qingyun's feet.

Su Qingyun didn't move.

Lao Wu didn't react much. This was the normal reaction of a deaf-mute person. If Su Qingyun immediately raised his head and picked up the food, it would have been wrong.

He walked over as if nothing had happened and kicked Su Qingyun lightly. Su Qingyun slightly raised his stained face. The light was dim and Lao Wu could not make out his facial features at all.
