Su Qingyun looked up blankly. What were they talking about? She was so engrossed in watching that she didn't even listen.
"Uncle Qi." Su Qingyun said obediently. It is always right to call people by their names.
Qi Chu looked at the confused girl, a smile flashing in his eyes, and asked gently, "Can you understand this book?"
"Yeah." Su Qingyun nodded.
Qi Chu was a little shocked. The original version of "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy" is a rare book nowadays. What's even rarer is that this little girl was so fascinated by it. It was really amazing!
The smile on his face became even warmer. "Are you still in school?"
"I'm in my second year of high school," Su Aimin said proudly. "My grades are excellent. Even the principal praised me."
Su Qingyun suddenly felt a little ashamed. The principal had only said that one sentence, but her father boasted about it to everyone he met.
"Really? That's incredible." Qi Chu praised.
As they were chatting, the train arrived at the next station and slowly stopped. Through the window glass, Su Qingyun could see a large number of people crowding onto the train. It was hard for him to imagine the passenger capacity of the current trains.
"Number 18, this should be it!" A slightly shrill female voice sounded, and a hand pulled open the door of the compartment. The three people were startled and frowned at the woman who came in. How could she come in without knocking? How could she have no manners at all?
The woman was wearing a bright red shirt, black pants, and two shiny braids. She had regular features and a powdered face, but it was obvious that she was not young.
Seeing the three of them looking over, she greeted them in a familiar manner, "Hey, this place is full, it looks like I'm the only one missing!"
She looked at her bed and frowned. Why was she on it?
The woman looked at the three of them discreetly. Seeing that Su Aimin and his wife were dressed rather ordinary, she rolled her eyes and automatically glanced at Qi Chu, who was obviously not an ordinary person. She smiled and said to Su Qingyun, "Little sister, can I discuss something with you?"
"Um?"
"My legs aren't very good, and it's hard for me to climb up and down. Can you please switch places with me? You're young and in good shape."
Why don't you exchange with the person in the lower bunk, but with her? Su Qingyun smiled. This is like picking on the weak.
Before she could answer, her father said coldly, "That won't do, sister. My daughter is still young and weak. It won't be easy if she falls. Forget it. Be careful. Or you can ask the conductor to change your bed for you."
"No, big brother, I'm not the only woman going out. I think we have a good impression of each other, so I want to go with you all to take care of each other." The woman said with a shameless face, but she was gritting her teeth in her heart. He called her big sister without considering her age.
"Auntie, I'm sorry." As soon as Su Qingyun said this, the woman's face twisted again for a moment. Who is this little girl calling auntie?
Su Qingyun and Su Aimin were indeed father and daughter, and they were equally good at irritating people. She smiled and said, "If you really want to sleep on the lower bunk, give me the money for the lower bunk and I'll switch with you. After all, respecting the elderly and loving the young is a traditional virtue."
The upper and lower bunks are not the same price. She wants to take advantage of you just by asking, but how can it be so easy?
Qi Chu coughed lightly and couldn't help but smile. This girl is really sharp-tongued.
The woman's smile froze on her face. After a long while, she gritted her teeth and said, "No need for that. I'll just sleep on the top bunk. It's pretty good too."
She climbed onto the upper bunk with a gloomy face and never said another word to anyone else. Qi Chu felt the low pressure above and sighed inwardly. If he had known earlier, he would have bought a ticket for a separate compartment.
The train continued to rumble forward, and the scenery outside the window quickly receded, including quiet countryside, vast fields, lush mountains and forests, huge chimneys emitting smoke, and hardworking farmers.
The setting sun slowly sets, retracting its dazzling light, leaving an orange afterglow in the world, like beautiful silk covering the entire sky, which is incomparable to any exquisite dyeing craftsmanship. The rosy glow pours in from the car window, printing out a beautiful silhouette.
Su Qingyun put down the book and read it intently. It was only today that the broad picture of this era appeared clearly before her for the first time.
Real people, real scenery, all of this calmed her slightly restless heart. She seemed to finally have a sense of belonging to this era.
