Su Qingyun also greeted her obediently, "Hello, Auntie."
"Come, come, come, sit down quickly. Old Qi, you are so stupid. Why do you let guests stand? Sit down quickly and have some fruit." She brought out a plate of cut fruit. "Qingyun, come, eat something first to fill your stomach. The food will be ready soon."
"Thank you, Auntie."
Su Aimin looked inside the room, "Where's that kid Qi Heng?"
"Him? He was called over by one of his classmates, Yan Jun, who is close to him. He's working at the research institute now, and they're looking for his help. He should be back soon."
Qi Chu laughed and said, "People from the research institute can still ask him for help?"
"What are you talking about? How can you look down on your own son like that?" Ning Yan glared at him and walked into the kitchen to continue cooking.
Su Aimin and Qi Chu were chatting casually, and Su Qingyun glanced at the Qi family casually, his eyes resting on the two large bookcases in the Qi family.
"What's the matter? Qingyun, do you want to read a book?" Qi Chu noticed her gaze.
"He went to the bookstore to buy books yesterday. This kid just can't sit still." Su Aimin said proudly.
Qi Chu: "Qingyun, take a look at whatever you want."
"Thank you, Uncle Qi." Su Qingyun was really itching to read, so he walked to the bookcase.
Her clear eyes lit up when she scanned the list of books. The Qi family actually had so many academic books! Su Qingyun felt like she had found a treasure.
She pulled out one of them, which was a mathematics journal published just last month.
"Qingyun is interested in mathematics?" Qi Chu noticed the book she was holding and was a little surprised. A journal of this level is not something a high school student can understand.
"I'm just taking a look." Su Qingyun smiled. She went to university at the age of fifteen, and studied for eight years to complete her undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees. She graduated two years ahead of schedule and obtained a double degree in applied mathematics and materials science.
Although she eventually went to work at the Materials Research Institute, mathematics will always have a place in her heart.
Not long after, before Ning Yan's dish was served, Qi Heng came back. He was holding a notebook in his hand and greeted with a smile, "Qingyun, Uncle Su, I'm sorry I'm back just now."
"It's okay, you came back at the right time." Su Aimin said with a smile.
Qi Chu looked at his hand and asked, "What are you holding?"
"You're talking about this?" Qi Heng curled his lips. "It's that Yan Jun. Their latest research project needs some data analysis, and they asked me for help."
He felt a bit overwhelmed. "This data is too huge and complicated. I don't know what to do with it, but he just keeps finding things for me to do."
"They see that you're a math major, don't they?" Qi Chu encouraged. "The more capable you are, the more work you should do."
Su Qingyun widened his eyes slightly. Qi Heng was studying mathematics? College students in this era were extremely valuable. No wonder he was able to work in the Ministry of Agriculture at the age of 20.
"Okay." Qi Heng sighed, then saw the book in Su Qingyun's hand and raised his eyebrows. "Qingyun, can you understand this book?"
Su Qingyun paused and nodded slightly, "I roughly understand it."
"That's incredible!" Qi Heng exclaimed. After getting to know her over the past few days, he knew that Su Qingyun was not a boastful person. It seemed that she really understood what she said.
"Brother Qi Heng, can I ask where you bought these journals? I didn't see them in the bookstore yesterday." Su Qingyun asked.
"Of course you can't buy these in bookstores outside," Qi Heng explained.
"So that's how it is." Su Qingyun smiled. As long as there was a way to buy it, it would be fine.
"If you like, you can take it home and read it." Qi Heng said generously. The bookshelves in their house were clearly divided into categories: agriculture, mathematics, and the literature and history that his mother liked to read.
Su Qingyun smiled and said, "No need, I can just order it myself."
Qi Heng nodded, "That's fine."
Before he started eating, he sat in a chair with a notebook in his hand, thinking about how to use mathematical methods to quickly classify and summarize the data.
Su Qingyun glanced at it casually, and when he realized something was wrong, he immediately looked away. Qi Heng caught him and asked, "Do you want to take a look?"
"How can I watch this?"
"It's okay, this is not a confidential project." Qi Heng handed over the notebook casually.
Su Qingyun took it and glanced at it quickly. Qi Heng was about to say something when he heard Ning Yan asking him to serve the dishes.
He stood up and walked towards the kitchen. Su Qingyun was so engrossed in watching him that he couldn't help but pick up the pencil on the table and write something on the blank space in the notebook.
"Okay, it's time to eat." Ning Yan called.
Su Qingyun came back to her senses and looked at what she had written in the notebook. She frowned with a headache. Why did she have this problem again? As soon as she calmed down to think, she would uncontrollably pick up the pen and write down what she thought.
She looked around but couldn't find an eraser, so she could only say apologetically to Qi Heng, "Brother Qi Heng, I'm sorry, I just drew a few strokes on the notebook."
"It's okay, I'll wipe it off later." Qi Heng didn't take it seriously.
Qi Chu: "Okay, okay, put everything down and eat!"
They had a very enjoyable meal. Qi Chu and Su Aimin agreed that they would go to Luoshui Village in person. After the meal, Su Aimin and his daughter went back to the guesthouse to get their things and then rushed to the train station.
