Chapter 603 Life Goals

"How about I treat you to a meal?" Xia Qiu said after thinking for a while.

"Eat?" Chen Musheng was a little surprised.

"Yes." Xia Qiu smiled. "I came out to eat today. If you don't mind, I'll treat you."

Chen Musheng looked at her sincere expression and suddenly smiled, "Okay."

"That's settled then." Xia Qiu was somewhat pleased and instructed the driver, "Hello, please turn left and then right ahead."

"good."

"Then go over there..."

She chattered and directed the driver to the destination.

Chen Musheng touched his chin and chuckled at the sight of her like this. She seemed to still be somewhat as lively as before.

"What's wrong?" Xia Qiu turned around and saw Chen Musheng smiling.

"Nothing." Chen Musheng didn't say anything, but asked, "Why didn't you resist when you were bullied?"

Xia Qiu's smile faded a bit. "They are regular students, and I am an auditor. They are powerful in Hong Kong City, and I am alone. How can I resist?"

"And I know that the more they hate me and target me, the more they are jealous of me and think they are not as good as me. There is no need for me to compete with them. I might as well study hard and slap them in the face with my real ability." Xia Qiu said this with high morale.

Chen Musheng couldn't help laughing, "You're quite ambitious."

Xia Qiu pursed her lips and smiled, "I just have ambition."

"Okay, just for your ambition, from now on, when you go out, say my name, Chen Musheng." Chen Musheng said, "Say my name, at least in Hong Kong City, no one will dare to bully you openly."

Xia Qiu thought about it seriously, "Then if I say Uncle Qingyun's name, will it be more effective?"

Chen Musheng was stunned, feeling both angry and amused. "You're quite bold and unsatisfied to report Third Master's name."

"I was just kidding." Xia Qiu chuckled, "Why did you take it seriously?"

Chen Musheng didn't expect that he was scared by a little girl and couldn't help laughing.

"Hey, we're here!" Xia Qiu looked out the window and suddenly shouted, "Let's stop here."

"good."

The car parked smoothly, Chen Musheng and Xia Qiu got out, and Xia Qiu pointed in a direction and said, "Let's go, I'll treat you to a good meal!"

After saying that, she walked forward, and Chen Musheng followed behind her.

Two minutes later, looking at the slightly shabby shop in front of him, Chen Musheng fell silent.

"Is this the delicious food you want to treat me to?"

"What's wrong with this place?" Xia Qiu asked back, "Don't be fooled by its unassuming appearance. The food is delicious. This is the best restaurant serving our S Province cuisine I've found so far in Hong Kong."

"Is this restaurant serving your hometown food?" Chen Musheng finally understood.

"Yes." Xia Qiu found a place to sit down, and Chen Musheng sat opposite her. "When I miss home, I will come here to eat. The familiar taste makes me feel that way." She originally wanted to go to a store with exquisite decoration, but after what happened just now, she only wanted to eat the taste she was familiar with.

Moreover, Xia Qiu secretly glanced at Chen Musheng. If the two of them went to that restaurant, the money she brought would not be enough, so she decided to treat him to a meal there next time.

"Xiao Qiu is here?" The shop owner was also from northern China and was quite familiar with Xia Qiu. He smiled and greeted her as soon as he saw her. "Did you bring any friends here today?"

"Yes." Xia Qiu nodded.

"Look, what would you like to eat today?"

"Order whatever you want, it's my treat." Xia Qiu said to Chen Musheng generously.

"Since it's your hometown dish, you should have some." Chen Musheng gave her the choice.

"Okay." Xia Qiuye said without hesitation, "I'll have some."

She spoke quickly and ordered several dishes, enough for several people.

The boss was very efficient and the dishes were served quickly. The flavor looked different from that in Hong Kong.

"Try these four-joy meatballs." Xia Qiu asked Chen Musheng to pick up his chopsticks. "They taste really good."

"It's good." He praised after taking a bite.

"Right." Xia Qiu said proudly, "I said this place tastes good."

"Even if I forced my mom to do it, it's still almost the same."

Chen Musheng understood what she meant. What was missing was not the taste, but the feeling.

"Are you homesick?"

Missing home? Xia Qiu paused, his smile fading. "Of course I do." How could he not?

She dreamed of her home, wanting to go back, see her relatives and friends, step on the familiar land, and sleep in the familiar bed.

"Do you regret it?" Chen Musheng looked up at her. "Do you regret coming to Hong Kong?"

Xia Qiu was a little surprised when she heard his question, and she shook her head firmly.

"No regrets, absolutely no regrets."

"Coming to Hong Kong City to study fashion design has always been my dream. How could I possibly regret it?" Xia Qiu smiled. "Although there are many difficulties, I believe that as long as I keep moving towards my set goals, I can overcome them."

Chen Musheng was a little surprised. He didn't expect that this seemingly weak girl had such a strong strength in her heart.

That's good.

"Everything I have now in Hong Kong City is something I couldn't have imagined before." Xia Qiu suddenly felt the urge to talk, and told Chen Musheng about her past. "In the past, I thought that graduating from high school and having a well-assigned job was the happiest thing in the world."

"I never thought I could get into university and go to Beijing to study. I never thought I could come to Hong Kong and study what I like. I worked so hard for all of this. How could I possibly regret it?"

"Very good." Chen Musheng nodded and commented with two words, "Keep up the good work."

Xia Qiu was amused by his serious tone. "Actually, the reason why I became what I am today is entirely due to Qingyun's influence. She taught me that people should always have goals and ideals."

"I'm not a particularly smart person, nor do I have extraordinary talents, so the only way to get everything I want is to work hard." Xia Qiu has a very clear understanding of herself. She has no choice but to work hard. Sometimes, people can succeed with unremitting efforts, a little bit of talent and a little bit of luck.

"Just like you, you must have a goal too, right?" Xia Qiu asked Chen Musheng.

This question really stumped him.

Target? Chen Musheng fell silent, lowered his head and took a bite of the sauerkraut-flavored dumplings. Then he looked up and smiled, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.

“It seems not.”

"No?" Xia Qiu was surprised. She thought that a big shot like Chen Musheng must be thinking about accomplishing some big cause.

"No."

Chen Musheng shook his head.

Throughout his life, he obeyed the teachings of the Third Master when he was young, and obeyed the orders of the Third Master when he grew up. Even in his spare time, he had never done anything seriously.

Chen Musheng had never thought about this question: what was his goal in life? Did he want to be like the Third Master?

He was a little confused.
