Chapter 656 Witnessing the Wedding

Xia Qiu's heart skipped a beat. The man's cold breath mixed with the faint smell of tobacco entered her nostrils. She hated others smoking, but at this moment, she didn't know if it was an illusion, but she actually felt that the smell was pleasant.

"What's wrong?" Chen Musheng asked when he saw her in a daze.

"Nothing, why did you bring me here?" Xia Qiu asked, changing the subject.

"I've been here once before, and I found this to be a great place to relax and find inner peace." Chen Musheng looked at the church spire and smiled, "Let's go in."

"good."

Xia Qiu followed Chen Musheng into the church, and everything inside made her stare blankly.

There are many churches in Hong Kong, and she would look in curiously when passing by occasionally, but this was her first time to be inside a church. The exquisite and gorgeous decoration, and the stark difference between Western and Eastern cultures had a great impact on her.

All she saw were beautiful red bricks, holy arches, and stained glass hanging high above the dome, mysterious and magnificent. Light and shadow filtered through the glass, like God, casting a sacred, colorful glow on the earth.

"It's so beautiful." Xia Qiu looked at all this and said blankly.

"This church is called St. Andrew's Church. It is one of the oldest Christian churches in Kowloon." As they walked, Chen Musheng whispered to her the history of the church. Since his first visit here, he had learned a lot about the history and stories of this kind of church, and he could talk about them easily.

Xia Qiu was fascinated by what he heard.

"By the way, this is also where the Third Master and his wife held their wedding." Chen Musheng said with a smile.

"Really?" Xia Qiu was a little surprised, "Right here?" Having been in Hong Kong for so long, she certainly knew that many people would choose to hold Western-style weddings in churches, but she didn't expect that Yunyun's uncle and aunt would spend their lives together here.

"Yes, there were not many people in the church that day. The Third Master and his wife made a lifelong commitment to each other right there." Chen Musheng recalled that day with a smile on his face. "Even if there were no one else blessing them, they were the happiest people in the world that day."

"Of course, when getting married, the newlyweds are of course the happiest people in the world." Xia Qiu deeply agreed with this statement.

Chen Musheng chuckled and said, "Let's go in."

"Can I come in?"

"sure."

"good."

As soon as Chen Musheng pushed open the heavy door, Xia Qiu's eyes widened, unable to believe what he saw.

Inside the church, a couple was getting married. The bride was wearing a white wedding dress with a bright and beautiful smile, and the groom was wearing a well-fitting suit. The two stood quietly, looking at each other, full of satisfaction and happiness.

There was beautiful and soft music playing in the church. Many of their relatives and friends were sitting on the red tables and chairs, all looking at them with blessings on their faces. Although the atmosphere was not too lively, everyone could feel the happy atmosphere.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, someone turned around and looked at them.

"Come on, let's go out quickly. They are getting married." Xia Qiu was so anxious that she pulled Chen Musheng out.

"No need to go out." Chen Musheng held her hand in his backhand, led her to an empty chair nearby, and prepared to sit down.

"What?" Xia Qiu felt that she had disturbed them. In her haste, she didn't notice that Chen Musheng was holding her hand tightly. She lowered her voice and said, "Let's not disturb them."

"It doesn't matter. For the newlyweds, every person who comes is a blessing. They are so happy that we come to attend their wedding." Chen Musheng explained.

"Really?" Xia Qiu was skeptical.

"Of course." Chen Musheng nodded affirmatively.

"Oh well."

Xia Qiu nodded and finally sat down with peace of mind. She looked a little curious because she had never seen a church wedding like this before.

She looked at the bride and groom on the stage with some anticipation.

To the sound of beautiful music, the priest walked onto the stage and stood between the bride and groom.

Xia Qiu immediately sat up straight and looked at it with some excitement. When she moved, she realized something was wrong.

She lowered her head and looked at her hand held by Chen Musheng. She was stunned. When did this happen...

She quickly realized that it was Chen Musheng who had pulled her over, but why didn't he let go?

Xia Qiu looked at Chen Musheng's slender, bony hands and felt the warm touch on them. Her heart skipped a beat again and she almost pulled her hand away in panic, with a rather large movement.

"What's wrong?" Chen Musheng looked at her puzzledly, as if he had no idea anything was wrong.

"Nothing... nothing." Xia Qiu said quickly.

He really forgot to take his hand back. What an accident.

She was inexplicably afraid to meet Chen Musheng's gaze, and her panicked gaze shifted towards the stage, "Look... look at them."

"Yeah, okay." Chen Musheng looked at her panic-stricken expression and smiled through his tears.

The priest stood between the bride and groom, his kind face etched with solemnity. He looked at them both and asked seriously, "Mr. Li Mingda, are you willing to marry this lady? Are you willing to stay with her forever, no matter poverty, sickness, pain, hardship, wealth, health, happiness, or joy?"

Xia Qiu was stunned when she heard the priest's words. This was the first time she heard such an oath.

Then came the groom's firm response, "I do."

The priest turned around and asked the bride, "Ms. Mo Li, are you willing to marry the man in front of you? Regardless of poverty, illness, pain, hardship, or wealth..."

The bride nodded and answered firmly, "I do."

The priest's expression finally softened. He took out the ring from the holy water beside him and said to the two with a smile, "Now, you can exchange rings."

The bride and groom exchanged rings and then kissed each other without waiting for the priest to speak.

A good-natured laugh broke out at the scene.

The priest was somewhat helpless, but still happily announced, "I declare that from today on, under the witness of the Lord, you are officially married."

The bride and groom hugged each other happily, then raised the flowers in their hands and greeted all the relatives and friends in the audience.

There was soon thunderous applause from the audience.

Xia Qiu watched this sacred and beautiful wedding ceremony in a daze, her eyes a little red. This was her first time witnessing such a wedding. The emotion in her heart was a little difficult to express in words, and there seemed to be a hint of envy in it.

However, receiving the most sincere blessings and testimonies in front of so many people is indeed an enviable thing.
