Chapter 70 Brick Factory Investigation

"It's like this, Director Xu. Our village has a large population and many children of school age. There are also several nearby villages without schools, so they come here. Therefore, the previously estimated school size is not enough and needs to be expanded, so more bricks are needed." Su Qingyun had already thought of an excuse.

"Is that so?" Xu Wenjie nodded, looking a little embarrassed. "But our brick factory only produces a certain amount of bricks. If you suddenly need more, I don't know where to get them from."

"We just need a little to build the school. It's not a large amount. Director, can you think of a solution?"

"Come to think of it, Zhang Meng is my brother-in-law, and he's related to your captain. It's only right and proper for me to help him." Xu Wenjie hesitated for a moment, "Let me think about it."

Su Qingyun saw that he was pretending to think, but he smiled without saying anything. She just wanted to see what he could come up with.

"Oh right!" Xu Wenjie said quickly, as if he had just remembered something. "We have a batch of unsold red bricks in our warehouse. They were left over from when the county steel mill built dormitories. Do you think your village would like some?"

"Leftover from the steel mill's dormitories?" Su Qingyun looked puzzled. "If there's leftovers, why aren't they sold elsewhere?"

"You don't understand, little girl?" Xu Wenjie said with a smile, "Nowadays, everyone buys bricks from the same batch. They won't buy the leftovers."

"So that's how it is." Su Qingyun showed an expression of sudden enlightenment.

"If your village really needs it, I can only think of this batch of bricks. Do you want them?" Xu Wenjie spread his hands helplessly.

Su Qingyun thought for a moment and said, "Can I take a look first? Then I can go back and tell our team leader."

"Of course." Xu Wenjie agreed happily, "But I have a meeting later, so I have to hurry."

"Okay, it won't take up too much of your time."

The smile on Xu Wenjie's face deepened. The little girl was easy to fool, and Luoshui Village was stupid to ask such a young girl to come out and do things.

Su Qingyun followed Xu Wenjie to the warehouse. He opened the door and pointed to the pile of bricks in the corner and said, "Those are the bricks. Take a look."

He spoke casually, not trusting her at all to see what was good or bad.

The light in the warehouse was dim, but Su Qingyun could still see the color of the pile of red bricks clearly. They were similar to the bricks used to build the school in their village, with the same dark color and white residue.

She picked up a brick, weighed it, and then bent her fingers to knock it. The same "kua kua" sound was heard. Her eyes darkened, and she was sure in her heart that the bricks in the village were brought from here.

"How are you?" Xu Wenjie walked over to her and asked, "These are all good bricks, of excellent quality. If you don't want them, I'll give you two cents a brick."

Xu Wenjie looked like he had suffered a great loss.

He laughed inwardly. This girl was pretending to knock on it.

Su Qingyun turned his head and said, "It's good, but I want to see other bricks."

"Others?" Xu Wenjie was stunned for a moment. "Didn't I say there were no other bricks?"

"No, Director." Su Qingyun smiled, "I just want to see the newly produced bricks and compare them with these."

"What's there to compare?" Xu Wenjie's smile froze for a moment, but he quickly reacted. "Our brick factory uses automated production, and the bricks we produce are all pretty much the same. There's no difference between anything else and this."

"Really? But I heard that good red bricks don't look like this. These bricks look like defective products." Su Qingyun still had a smile on his face, but what he said made Xu Wenjie's face change.

"Little girl, what do you mean by that?" Xu Wenjie's face darkened. "The bricks in our brick factory have all been quality-inspected. Every brick left is of qualified quality. If you don't need them, please leave. Don't waste my time."

This girl is here to cause trouble.

"Director Xu, why are you so anxious?" Su Qingyun said casually, "I just want to take a look at the other bricks. There's no need to react so violently."

Xu Wenjie looked at him unkindly. "The meeting is over. Please excuse me, I can't keep you company. Please leave the brick factory immediately, or I'll call security."

Su Qingyun: "Director Xu will have a meeting with the county leaders later. What will they do if they find out that the brick factory is selling inferior products as good ones?"

Xu Wenjie stared at her with an incredible look. Was this yellow-haired girl who appeared out of nowhere threatening him?
