Chapter 74: Visiting

Ji Yue looked at her silently.

"Just pretend I didn't say anything." Su Qingyun understood immediately. She had forgotten when this elder brother had ever taken notes.

Ji Yue smiled and suddenly remembered something, "My mom asked when you will come home for dinner?"

The classmates who had been listening closely suddenly widened their eyes. Has this developed to the point where they have to meet their families?

"Huh?" Su Qingyun was surprised. Why was his mother still thinking about this? Didn't she just offer some courtesy last time?

"She's been nagging about it for days, are you going to do her a favor?" Ji Yue looked a little helpless, "Just tell her to shut up and have a quick meal."

"This..." Su Qingyun hesitated for a moment, but finally agreed, "Okay." She actually liked Ji Yue's mother very much. She was gentle and intellectual.

"Tomorrow night, okay?"

Su Qingyun said indifferently: "I can do anything."

"It's settled then." Ji Yue's tone was filled with barely audible joy.

Su Qingyun went home and told her family that she was going to a classmate's house for dinner the next night. Her family thought she was going to a female classmate's house and didn't say anything. They just told her to come back early and be careful.

The next day, after school in the afternoon, Su Qingyun thought for a moment and said, "I'll go buy something first." It's not good to go to someone's house empty-handed.

Ji Yue didn't think much about it and nodded.

Ji Yue was waiting for her at the door of the department store in town. Su Qingyun picked some fruits at random, thought about it, and bought a bag of fruit candies. Although the gifts she gave were not expensive, there was definitely nothing wrong with them.

"Let's go." Su Qingyun said as he walked out of the store.

Ji Yue looked at the bags in her hands and said, "Let me carry them."

"Forget it, you are still a patient, I can do it myself." Su Qingyun immediately refused.

Ji Yue didn't argue with her, and the two of them walked towards the town government staff quarters.

At the Ji family, Ji's mother was cooking in the kitchen. She tasted the soup stewed in the clay pot and found it was just the right saltiness. She nodded with satisfaction, saying, "Not bad."

It was obvious that she was in a very good mood today, and she even hummed a song while steaming the fish.

Ji's father had just returned from get off work. Seeing her like this, he wondered, "What good news is going on today? Why are you so happy?"

He glanced at the dishes in the kitchen. Wow, it was really rich. She hadn't been in the mood to cook so many dishes for a long time.

"Of course there are guests."

"Are there guests coming to our house?" Father Ji was even more puzzled. "Where are the guests coming from?"

Their family of three came from the capital, and he could almost be said to have been exiled to the frontier. His colleagues and neighbors were afraid of getting into trouble, so they avoided his family like the plague.

Not to mention having anyone come to visit, even after moving here for so long, not a single person has come to visit. What kind of guests are these?

Ji's mother didn't keep it a secret, "A Yue's classmates are coming."

"A Yue's classmate?" Father Ji was stunned. "This kid finally made a friend?"

His son is very proud. Having grown up in the capital, he always feels out of place and cannot integrate into the group here. After his family suffered a misfortune, Ji Yue's personality changed drastically. He became withdrawn and cold, and was unwilling to communicate with others.

He and his mother were often worried about his temper.

He knew his son well, and he knew that the classmate he brought home as a visitor must be someone special.

"Do you know who it is?"

"How should I know that?"

"Here." Ji's mother pointed to the scarf hanging on the hanger beside her, "The girl who helped A Yue pick out a gift for my last birthday."

"A girl?" Father Ji was even more surprised.

Ji Yue, this kid, has always been annoyed by girls since he was a child, chattering endlessly. Now he actually brings a girl to his house? Wait, could it be that kid?

"I know what you're thinking from the look on your face." Ji's mother glanced at him. "That girl and A Yue are innocent, they're just classmates. Don't say anything nonsense later, or you'll embarrass her."

"But..." Ji's mother changed the subject and said, "I don't know what our Ah Yue feels towards others."

The last time they met, she saw clearly her son's attitude and eyes towards the girl. He definitely treated her as more than just a classmate.

But I don’t know whether that silly boy knows it or not.

Father Ji's eyes lit up, "Then I'm really looking forward to it."

"I met her last time. She's a very nice girl, very nice-looking and has a very good personality." Mother Ji said with a smile, "If our son really develops something with someone, I'd be happy to see it happen."

As the two were talking, there was a noise at the door and Ji Yue arrived with his men.
