"A professor from Beijing?" Su Aimin was surprised. "A professor like your Uncle Qi?"
"Yes, but they teach different majors. One is agronomy and the other is mathematics. There is a huge difference between them." Su Qingyun explained.
Su Aimin was confused. Isn't mathematics just arithmetic?
"I don't understand your math. I just want to settle the accounts." Su Aimin said.
Su Qingyun smiled, "That won't do, Dad. Think about it, your business is still small now, and the amount is small, so you can do the math. But what if your business gets bigger in the future and you can't do the math? Are you comfortable hiring someone to do the accounting?"
"Of course I'm worried." Su Aimin said without thinking.
"That's right, so Dad, you should learn more and keep up with the times, otherwise you will fall behind and be surpassed by others." Su Qingyun said in a teasing tone.
Although Su Aimin didn't have any particularly lofty ambitions, he felt a sense of crisis after hearing what Su Qingyun said. He thought for a moment and said, "My daughter, does the county library have any books on how to do business? You can borrow a few for me next time."
"That's not a business book, that's an economics book." Su Qingyun corrected him. Who would dare to publish a book that teaches people how to do business these days? It's not like he's too old to live.
"Who cares about the gold and silver chickens? Just lend it back to me." Su Aimin said. His daughter was right. He had to see how others did it, what the social situation was like, and what the country's policies were.
For the first time, Su Aimin began to think seriously about what he wanted to achieve in the future.
He thought for a long time before realizing he had strayed from the topic. "No, let's talk about your teacher. This professor accepted you as a student. Shouldn't we show some appreciation?"
According to his daughter, the professor lives alone in the county town and probably doesn't have a good life.
"No need to express it, I just need to think about preparing a gift for the teacher." Su Qingyun said, patting her bag, "This is the treasure that the teacher gave me today."
"What treasure?"
"Teacher's math notes."
Su Aimin was speechless. Treating the notebook like a treasure? He suddenly felt a little worried. Wouldn't his daughter become a nerd if she continued studying like this?
As the father and daughter chatted, time passed very quickly and they soon arrived home. Everyone else had already eaten, but Qin Ying was the only one waiting for the father and daughter to come back and eat together.
Looking at the things Su Aimin was carrying, she frowned, "Why did he carry so much when he went out, and so much when he came back?"
"If you can think of others, they will naturally think of us. I really can't refuse." Su Aimin said. He didn't expect that Ji Yue, who usually seemed to be quiet, would be so difficult to deal with today.
Qin Ying smiled and said, "Sister Qiu is just that kind of person." She used to treat her as her own sister, and now she is still as kind to her as ever.
Everyone else went back to their rooms to rest, leaving only the three of them sitting together for dinner. Su Aimin casually mentioned that his daughter had chosen a teacher. He spoke in a relaxed tone, as if he didn't think it was a big deal.
Qin Ying reacted strongly. She understood better than Su Aimin the importance and rarity of Su Qingyun being accepted as a student by a former university professor at his age. In her heart, this was even more worthy of joy than Su Qingyun receiving an award.
"That's great, Yunyun. You have to study hard. Not everyone has this opportunity." Qin Ying reminded seriously.
Qin Ying recalled that after receiving the university admission letter, she did not go to study but chose to go to the countryside. Although her life is happy now, this is still a regret in her heart.
What she failed to do, maybe her daughter can accomplish. The policies outside are changing every day. Maybe one day she will be able to take the college entrance examination again?
"I know, Mom." Su Qingyun nodded. She also knew that this opportunity was hard to come by.
"By the way, which university did you say your teacher is from?" Qin Ying asked curiously.
"Professor Chu Xianming from Capital University." Su Qingyun said.
"Professor Chu Xianming?" Qin Ying's eyes widened suddenly. "Are you talking about Professor Chu Xianming, the head of the Department of Mathematics at Jingcheng University?"
"Mom, do you know my teacher?"
"How would I know him?" Qin Ying laughed. "One of my mother's former classmates is studying mathematics at Jingcheng University. I've heard of Professor Chu. He's quite an accomplished figure. Not only is he a professor in the mathematics department, he's also quite accomplished in physics."
Qin Ying couldn't help but sigh that her daughter was really lucky. She found such a great teacher as soon as she became his disciple.
