Chapter 1
At 7:00, the phone next to my pillow rang on time.
The melody of "To Alice" echoed in the dim room for a long time before a white, slender hand emerged from under the quilt and impatiently turned off the screen of the mobile phone. Red marks from sucking could be vaguely seen on the inside of the exposed wrist.
At 7:02, the owner of the messy black hair sat up with a gloomy face, kicked the quilt away with a full heart of anger. The silk shirt that was one size larger than his body was completely wrinkled, revealing two long, well-proportioned and straight legs underneath. Cen Xun was used to it and walked towards the bathroom in soft panda slippers.
7:07, after washing up and with her head a little clearer, Cen Xun followed the aroma of breakfast to the dining room. Her husband's carefully prepared breakfast was already on the table. The century egg and lean meat porridge smelled fragrant, and there was an egg fried in the pan.
Her husband, dressed in a suit, had his back to him, a panda apron tied around his waist. He had broad shoulders and a narrow waist, and his tall and well-shaped figure matched with his stern profile made him look particularly abstinent.
Cen Xun stood behind him unconsciously, narrowed her eyes, and reached out to her husband's abdominal muscles.
Her wrist was intercepted skillfully midway, and her husband said helplessly: "Stop it, I might burn you."
Cen Xun uttered an "oh" and yawned lazily. She rested her head on her husband's back and complained coquettishly, "I really don't want to get up early."
If Cen Xun's students saw this scene, they would probably be very shocked. The most famous professor of H University would also act like a spoiled child in front of his lover. If this were to be spread out, I wonder how many people would be shocked.
However, as the only person who could enjoy this benefit, Feng Jihan's reaction was indifferent. He simply turned around and kissed Cen Xun on the forehead, gently comforting him: "Hold on a little longer, it will be fine after the winter vacation."
Cen Xun was not very satisfied. This was not what he wanted to hear. Instead, he wanted to hear more useful suggestions, such as "We can skip work together tomorrow and then hang out in bed all day."
Cen Xun and Feng Jihan have been in love for several years. Feng Jihan is good in every way, gentle and considerate, but the Gu family is sometimes too old-fashioned.
Sometimes Cen Xun would feel a little strange, wondering why he had fallen in love with such a person in the first place.
Cen Xun felt quite bored and withdrew her arms from her husband's waist, her expression returning to its usual coldness.
As if sensing his displeasure, the husband changed the subject and asked, "What are you going to do today?"
Cen Xun pulled out a chair and sat down, bored as he stirred the fragrant porridge in the bowl with a spoon: "It's still the same as usual, a morning class and a meeting in the afternoon." He wanted to blow up the school and the students together.
"So I'll pick you up at the usual time?"
Cen Xun said "hmm" lightly. From his expression, one could not tell those dark thoughts in his mind. He began to enjoy his breakfast elegantly.
Feng Jihan turned off the fire, took out the fried eggs and placed them next to Cen Xun's hand. His eyes lingered for a moment on the other's lazily open collar.
Cen Xun acted as if he hadn't noticed. He poked the freshly-baked egg with his chopsticks and objectively commented, "It's a little burnt."
At 7:25, breakfast time ends in a warm atmosphere.
Before going out, Feng Jihan straightened Cen Xun's collar and buttoned up the top button until all the shameful traces were completely covered.
At 7:27, Cen Xun got into Feng Jihan's car, put his arm on the car window, and leaned his head to look at the scenery outside casually.
The traffic flow during the morning rush hour was too heavy and the speed of movement was as slow as a turtle. Cen Xun looked at the vehicles that cut in and narrowed his eyes slightly.
"What are you thinking about?" a questioning voice came from the side.
Cen Xun smiled and said, "Nothing, I was just wondering if we'll be late with such a traffic jam."
A hint of malice was perfectly hidden beneath the charming smile. In fact, Cen Xun was thinking, if only all these cars disappeared.
I really want to knock all these cars off the overpass.
Feng Jihan didn't notice his thoughts and said in a relaxed tone: "Don't worry, I won't be late."
As if in response to his words, after getting off the overpass, they had smooth sailing.
At 7:48, Cen Xun got out of the car, walked around to the driver's side, and gave her husband a kiss.
At 7:55, Cen Xun stepped into the classroom, and the crowded and noisy classroom suddenly became silent.
Cen Xun ignored the surprised looks coming from all directions and started debugging the equipment.
At 8:00, Cen Xun began his class with the melodious piano music of "Für Alice".
Cen Xun is a professor of folklore in the Chinese Department at H University. Since his appointment, his classes have been very popular among university students. Aside from a small number of students who are simply interested in folklore, the vast majority of students are more interested in his face.
It's really a world where appearance matters.
When it came to the question-and-answer session, Cen Xun glanced at the students. He didn't know if he remembered correctly, but he saw several unfamiliar students.
His classes were often attended by students, so the appearance of new students was also reasonable. Therefore, Cen Xun just frowned slightly and pointed to the nearest unfamiliar student.
The student had a baby face and was extremely excited when he was called upon. He stood up and answered his question fluently.
"The duties of a shaman include presiding over sacrificial ceremonies, predicting fate, exorcising diseases and seeking good fortune, and presiding over divine judgments."
Exactly the same, all correct.
Cen Xun felt something strange in his heart and asked his name, wanting to give him extra credit, but the baby-faced boy waved his hand and said it was not necessary, shyly saying that he was a student from another department.
Cen Xun noticed that after the baby-faced boy sat down, he said something proudly to the students around him, causing the men and women around him to laugh at the same time.
The strange feeling grew. Cen Xun knocked on the podium and said, "Quiet."
At 10:00, Cen Xun walked out of the classroom to the tune of "Für Alice".
The sun is shining brightly today, and the entire campus is bathed in warm sunlight. Young college students are walking on the campus paths, discussing whether to go back to sleep or stop by the cafeteria for lunch. Everything is calm and normal.
But Cen Xun inexplicably felt that something seemed to be wrong.
But Cen Xun couldn't tell what exactly was wrong.
All the weirdness seemed to have started with that unfamiliar baby-faced student.
Cen Xun raised his wrist and glanced at his watch. It was 10:03. He had been in a meaningless daze for three minutes.
As he stayed there longer and longer, the strange feeling of irritability became stronger and stronger, like a patient with obsessive-compulsive disorder, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
Cen Xun pressed his eyebrows and was about to give up the idea of exploring, but at this moment, a group of students walked over from not far away.
It was that group of unfamiliar college students.
There were about five or six people, both men and women, who, when they saw him, showed the kind of snicker on their faces that made Cen Xun very uncomfortable.
"Professor Cen, why haven't you left yet?" a girl asked.
Her voice seemed to break some kind of shackles, and Cen Xun felt that the invisible force that was eager to pull him back on track suddenly loosened, allowing him to breathe.
"Nothing, just looking at the scenery."
Cen Xun looked at the students calmly: "What about you? Don't you have classes next?"
After looking carefully, Cen Xun finally understood where the sense of incongruity came from.
Age is age.
Not only do these people look too mature, but their eyes lack the clear and foolish feeling that college students should have.
In response to Cen Xun's question, one of the boys answered. He stared at Cen Xun with a somewhat unpleasant, sticky, and malicious look in his eyes: "We have a question we'd like to ask Professor. Are you free?"
Cen Xun concluded that there was something strange about them, and their sudden invitation at this moment must have bad intentions.
Agree or refuse?
Cen Xun thought for a moment, then pointed to an empty classroom nearby and said with a smile, "Let's talk there."
Rather than being passively trapped in an unknown mystery, Cen Xun prefers to take the initiative.
He wanted to see what these people were up to.
The group entered the classroom. Cen Xun pretended not to notice them locking the door. He leaned back on the podium, relaxed, and spoke calmly, as if he was discussing something. "Is there something you didn't understand in class?"
The boy with the disgusting look was obviously the leader of this small group. He glanced over and everyone else tacitly walked aside.
Cen Xun heard their low voices.
"Do you really want to let Mr. Gu play like this? Isn't it too much?"
"What are you afraid of? It's just a thing. Who will find out if we use it?"
"Hehehe, I'm going to record it all later. The famous and beautiful professor at H University is being toyed with wantonly. If I put this video online, the traffic will definitely explode."
Although some words were deliberately blurred, Cen Xun still understood what this group of people were planning. He raised his eyebrows slightly, a little surprised.
These people actually dared to set their sights on me. There were people coming and going in the corridor outside. Aren’t they afraid of being discovered?
"Professor, do you have someone you like?"
The boy called Gu Shao asked with interest, pulling Cen Xun back to his thoughts. Cen Xun showed an offended look at the right moment and showed the silver ring on his ring finger: "I'm already married."
Gu Shao glanced at his ring, sneered, and said in an ambiguous tone, "Ah, are you married? A man or a woman?"
"It has nothing to do with you!" Cen Xun's face flashed with anger, and his cold features became more lively. "If you are asking such boring questions, then I will not accompany you any longer."
After saying that, he turned around and was about to leave, but was stopped by several other members of the small group halfway.
Cen Xun frowned: "What do you want to do?"
"What are you doing?" Gu Shao said in a frivolous tone, "Be smart and play with me. I'll let you out when I've had enough fun. Do you understand?"
Cen Xun frowned and turned his gaze to the window. As if sensing what he was thinking, Gu Shao smiled evilly: "It's useless. Even if you scream your throat out, no one outside will notice this classroom."
Hearing this, Cen Xun finally turned his gaze to Gu Shao.
A pair of clear peach blossom eyes and amber colored glass pupils give people the illusion of tenderness at first glance.
Gu Shao's throat tightened and his whole body became hot. He couldn't wait to pull out a primary dagger from his system backpack and put it against Cen Xun's neck to force him: "Take it off! Take it off for this young master to see!"
Cen Xun had a cold and handsome face, with light-colored eyes but very deep facial features. His slightly long hair was scattered on his smooth forehead, and his plump lips were like rose petals. When he bit them humiliatingly, there was a kind of decadent and corrupt temptation. The fingertips on his collar were as white as jade, and his fragile neck and snow-white skin aroused evil thoughts in others.
Gu Shao was staring at it so hard that his eyes couldn't move. The person who was secretly filming in the corner was also shocked by the scene and stood there in a daze.
At this moment, Cen Xun, who was forced to obey, suddenly curled his lips.
The hand that was unbuttoning his clothes suddenly moved up, grabbed Gu Shao's knife-holding hand, and bent it upwards. Along with the crisp sound of bones breaking, Gu Shao let out a scream.
"Ding" the dagger fell to the ground, waking up Gu Shaoshang's companion who was still in a trance.
"Mr. Gu!"
Just as everyone was about to rush over to rescue him in panic, Cen Xun slowly took out a pen from his pocket, removed the cap, and pointed the tip of the pen at Gu Shao's eyes. He whispered a threat, "If you take another step forward, I'll pierce his eyes."
This threat shocked everyone.
They had never seen such a bloody scene before, and were afraid that Cen Xun would really take action. For a moment, no one dared to act on their own.
Gu Shao endured the severe pain, and when he saw these useless people standing there, he instantly became furious: "What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and use the beep!"
The key words became blurred again when he heard them. Cen Xun tilted his head, guessing that these people might use some magical means again. Without hesitation, he stabbed the tip of the pen into Gu Shao's eyeball.
“Ah ...
A shrill scream resounded throughout the classroom, blood gushed out, and everyone was terrified looking at the cold and beautiful woman with blood on her face.
The blood seemed to awaken the most primitive thing deep in his heart, and Cen Xun suddenly began to feel that life was finally not so boring anymore.
Cen Xun looked at the others. They were looking at him in fear, as if they were looking at a monster.
"H-what should I do?"
"Use a spell?"
"Are you crazy? Mr. Gu is still in his hands! What if he throws it in the wrong direction?"
"Try using the lasso. Let's get Young Master Gu over here first!"
Cen Xun narrowed his eyes and saw with his own eyes someone take out a bundle of ropes from his body out of thin air.
Magic? Sorcery?
What exactly are these people?
Without hesitation, Cen Xun dragged Gu Shao from the ground, held him hostage with the dagger that fell to the ground, retreated to the window, and trapped him between the wall and the table.
The long table in the H University classroom was fixed to the ground and could not be moved. Even if the lasso was put around Gu Shao's upper body, he could not be pulled back by force.
Cen Xun looked at the noose on Gu Shao with great interest, and became even more curious about the identities of these people.
As his mind turned slightly, Cen Xun came up with an idea.
He placed the blade of the dagger against Gu Shao's cheek and pressed down lightly, and drops of blood instantly appeared.
Feeling the stinging pain on his face, Gu Shao's screams were immediately filled with fear. He didn't dare to struggle anymore and shouted in a cowardly voice, "Stop, stop!"
Cen Xun: "Answer me a few questions and I'll let you go."
The baby-faced boy swallowed and asked, "What do you want to ask?"
"You are not students of H University, who are you?"
As he finished speaking, Cen Xun did not miss the hint of surprise that appeared on their faces, as if they had not expected him to ask such a question.
The baby-faced boy was about to speak subconsciously when he was suddenly interrupted by the girl next to him: "Have you forgotten the rules? You can't tell others the truth about this world!"
Cen Xun's eyes dimmed. Rules? The truth of the world?
Since there are regulations, it means that there is a large-scale organization behind these people, and the people with magical powers may not be limited to the ones he saw today.
What Cen Xun cares about most is what is the so-called "truth of the world"?
After being warned by the girl, the baby-faced man suddenly came to his senses and said to Gu Shao anxiously, "Gu Shao, please quit!"
Gu Shao covered his bleeding eyes tightly and said in a gloomy voice: "Fuck, do you think I don't want to? I have used up my chances for today."
"What should I do then?"
Gu Shao suddenly sneered and cursed: "Bitch, even if I die, I will drag you down with me!"
Cen Xun narrowed his eyes and realized that something was wrong. The dagger against his face quickly moved down and cut towards Gu Shao's aorta without hesitation.
But Cen Xun was still a step too late.
The crackling sound of the electric current rang in his ears. The next second, Cen Xun's abdomen felt numb and the severe pain caused the knife in his hand to fall to the ground.
Cold sweat broke out on his smooth forehead. Cen Xun covered his abdomen with his hands with a pale face, half leaning against the window behind him, suppressing the groan in his throat.
Gu Shao escaped from danger, but did not retreat immediately. He was certain that he had won, and his only remaining eye was filled with venomous hatred. "Fuck, you really thought you couldn't be defeated, didn't you? You're just a mere idiot. If I can't kill you today, I won't be called Gu!"
"A bunch of losers, what are you still standing there for? Come here and hold him down!"
Cen Xun tried hard to calm his breathing, raised his eyes and looked at the group of people surrounding him. There was a dark look in his cold eyes hidden by his messy hair.
He saw it clearly just now. The electric baton in Gu Shao's hand was clearly taken out of thin air. In addition to the electric baton, they might have other offensive tools in their hands.
Originally, Cen Xun wanted to extract some more information from them, but now it seemed that if he stayed any longer, the situation would be disadvantageous to him.
The enraged Master Gu obviously would not let him go. Although Cen Xun was confident that he could fight six people alone, he was unable to defend against those props that appeared out of thin air.
At present, this classroom was blocked by unknown means, and people outside could not see what was happening inside. Cen Xun estimated the possibility of breaking through the siege and opening the classroom door, and concluded that the possibility was very small.
In this case, the only way to go is
Cen Xun licked his dry lips and suddenly smiled at the people surrounding him. In an instant, it was like the ice and snow on the mountains melting, which was inevitably dizzying.
People are visual creatures. Even though he had just experienced the beauty's cruelty, Gu Shao was still excited again. The electric baton in his hand made a crackling sound: "Professor, please beg me, I will make you feel better later, how about it?"
In his eyes, Cen Xun had no way to escape, and in order to avoid being bullied, he might even lower himself and beg him. When he thought of that scene, he couldn't help but feel proud.
The person in front of him opened his mouth, and at that moment, the class bell rang. The soft and melodious melody of "To Alice" covered Cen Xun's voice.
"What did you just say?" Gu Shao couldn't help but take another step closer.
Everything changed in a flash!
Cen Xun, who seemed to be exhausted, suddenly elbowed the window behind him and shattered it. Sharp fragments flew everywhere, and people near the window subconsciously dodged.
The next moment, a short scream was heard, and amidst the crackling sound of glass falling to the ground, another dull sound of landing stood out.
There were terrified screams from below. The people in the small group came to their senses and found that Cen Xun and Gu Shao, who had just been standing by the window, had disappeared.
As if realizing something, they rushed towards the empty window frames with pale faces.
What caught my eye was a pool of glaring red.
Blood oozes out from under Gu Shao's head and flows freely along the stairs. The height of three floors is not enough to be fatal, but the key is that there is a five-step staircase right below the window. Gu Shao falls face down and his forehead hits the corner of the staircase.
The college students coming and going all stopped to watch. Some ran in panic to call for help, while others hurriedly took out their mobile phones to take pictures. Under the lenses of countless people, Cen Xun staggered and lifted half of his body from Gu Shao's corpse, with no fear or guilt on his face.
Cen Xun is a vengeful person. If someone makes him feel a little pain, he will make that person feel ten times more pain.
Everything in front of his eyes went dark, his throat was filled with the smell of blood, and the whole world was spinning. Just as Cen Xun was trying to touch his phone, a mechanical sound came into his ears very clearly.
[Ding, congratulations! You successfully killed player Gu Xingquan and achieved the first kill in the Nightmare faction!]
[The Monster Panel has been opened! First kill rewards are being distributed, please wait]
"?" Cen Xun blinked sleepily. Before he lost consciousness, his last thought was: What the hell?
