Chapter 18 Do you like Mo Ge'er?

Lin Mo breathed heavily and his feet felt as heavy as cast iron, but he did not dare to stop. He did not know how to face them now.

In the previous life...I died a violent death...

Lin Cheng was reborn... They died in their previous life... The root of everything was that time-traveling girl...

Lin Mo ran forward with all his might. Although he did not pay attention to the direction, he subconsciously ran towards a familiar place. When Lin Mo finally couldn't run anymore and fell to the ground exhausted, he vaguely realized that this was an orchard.

Lin Mo struggled to get up, his throat was so dry and burning that he couldn't even swallow his saliva.

“Cough… cough cough…” Lin Mo covered his throat with one hand and staggered towards the depths of the orchard. He couldn’t let them find him… Lin Mo’s only thought now was to avoid them.

“…cough…ugh…cough…” Lin Mo covered his mouth.

As if he heard footsteps in the distance, Lin Mo's heart tightened. He covered his mouth tightly and walked forward, but his eyelashes were soaked with tears and his vision was blurred.

The next second, he was tripped by a broken branch of a fruit tree and fell forward, "Cough... vomit..."

Lin Mo only felt a fishy-sweet taste in his mouth that made him want to vomit, and his vision became a little dim.

Cheng Yan came out of the mountain with a bow and arrow on his back. He was unlucky today and didn't catch any prey.

Just as he was about to walk back along the path, Cheng Yan heard a familiar voice coming from not far to his right, and he remembered that it was the Lin family's orchard.

Cheng Yan pushed aside the grass and walked through. The sound became clearer and clearer. When the weeds in front of him disappeared, he saw the person in front of him. It was Lin Mo.

But before Cheng Yan could think about why Lin Mo was here, his heart tightened when he saw him fall to the ground, and he ran over without thinking too much.

"Lin Mo, what's wrong with you..." Cheng Yan half-knelt on the ground and helped him up. He was about to ask, but when he saw the tears on his face and the blood flowing from the corners of his mouth, Cheng Yan's throat seemed to be choked and he couldn't speak.

Lin Mo's body trembled when he heard the footsteps coming towards him, but when he heard the unexpected voice, he was startled and looked up.

"Cheng... Yan?" Lin Mo blinked, his vision became clearer, his throat was wet with blood, and he could barely make a sound.

"...What's wrong with you?" Cheng Yan raised his hand to wipe away the glaring red at the corner of his mouth.

Why is Lin Mo here alone? Why is he like this? Cheng Yan was so confused that he felt a little suffocated.

Cheng Yan didn't know why he had this reaction. When he saw Lin Mo's current appearance, his first reaction was heartache. He felt sorry for his tears and his sadness.

"Woo..." The moment Lin Mo saw Cheng Yan, the inexplicable grievance in his heart became stronger and stronger, and his trembling hands tightly grasped his clothes.

The body that had been holding on finally couldn't hold on anymore and completely softened, and fatigue and despair surged like a tide and filled my heart.

Lin Mo didn't know why he ran away, and he didn't know where the suffocating feeling in his heart came from after hearing the news that they had all died in their previous lives.

Obviously...I had decided not to get emotionally involved with anyone when I first came here. I just wanted to maintain a superficial relationship...

Cheng Yan listened to the despair in his crying, and the suffocation in his heart became stronger and stronger. The dark and gloomy aura of Lin Mo appeared again. Cheng Yan blinked hard to hide the unknown emotion in his eyes.

“Woo… cough… cough cough… I feel so uncomfortable…” Lin Mo lay in Cheng Yan’s arms, one hand tightly clutching the clothes around his chest, with a painful expression on his face.

"Where does it hurt? Hold on for a while, I'll take you back..." Cheng Yan's heart tightened when he heard Lin Mo say he felt uncomfortable, and thought about his pale face and the blood at the corner of his mouth just now.

“No… ahem… don’t go back…” Lin Mo woke up after hearing this and struggled to get away from him.

Lin Xiu had been asking around and ran over breathlessly. What he heard was Lin Mo's words, and his body instantly turned cold.

Cheng Yan carefully comforted the person in his arms, looked up at Lin Xiu who was standing not far away, and just as he was about to speak, he saw Lin Xiu shaking his head, his eyes full of pleading.

Cheng Yan didn't know what happened between them, and didn't know what happened to the Lin family that made Lin Mo lose his composure like this.

Lin Xiu stood beside a tree not far away, staring at Lin Mo who was kneeling on the ground. All he could hear was the sound of his painful coughs from time to time. Lin Xiu didn't dare to go over, and his mind was in a mess, so he needed to calm down.

It seemed like a long time had passed before Cheng Yan felt that Lin Mo in his arms was no longer moving. He looked down and found that he had closed his eyes. He didn't know whether he had fallen asleep or fainted again.

Cheng Yan wanted to move the person away a little, but the person in his arms seemed to be frightened and trembled. He kept coughing in a low voice, closed his eyes and frowned, and his hands that were holding his clothes tightened.

Finally, Cheng Yan slowed down his movements, picked up the person, and walked towards Lin Xiu with steady steps.

"Please help me carry him back." Lin Xiu whispered.

Lin Xiu naturally noticed Mo Ge'er's subconscious dependence on Cheng Yan. Seeing that his face was even paler than usual and his eyes were red and swollen from crying, he felt even more guilty.

How did he hear it?

"Yeah." Cheng Yan glanced at him and responded in a low voice.

Cheng Yan carried the person back to the village, and Lin Xiu followed behind him. It was almost noon now, and some villagers were rushing home on the village road. When they saw Lin Xiu and Cheng Yan holding a young boy, they stopped.

"Lin Xiu is back, what happened to Brother Mo?" When they got closer, some villagers naturally saw the person in Cheng Yan's arms.

"You look so pale, are you sick again?"

"Your eyes are a little red and swollen, are you crying?"

When the villagers passing by saw this, they all came over to ask questions, but most of them wanted to talk to Lin Xiu. Lin Xiu was one of the few scholars in their village, so the villagers naturally paid more attention to him.

Lin Mo, who was held by Cheng Yan, seemed to be disturbed by the noises around him. He frowned and buried his head in Cheng Yan's arms, trying to cover his ears.

"Um... cough... cough..."

"Uncles and aunts, we're leaving first. Brother Mo is feeling a little unwell." When Lin Xiu heard Lin Mo's cough, he signaled Cheng Yan with his eyes to let him go back quickly.

Cheng Yan nodded and walked around them to the Lin family. After dealing with the other villagers, Lin Xiu hurriedly followed.

In the room, Lin Mo lay on the bed with his eyes closed, his hands still tightly grasping Cheng Yan's clothes. Cheng Yan had no choice but to sit by the bed.

The door was opened carefully, and Lin's mother walked in lightly, walked to the bedside and took a look at her son lying on the bed.

"What's wrong?" Lin's mother asked softly.

"No, he'll know as soon as I move." Cheng Yan shook his head and whispered.

As if to convince Lin's mother, Cheng Yan gently pulled the clothes that Lin Mo was holding tightly. The next second, Lin Mo frowned, and a look of pain appeared on his face. His hands unconsciously stretched forward, and when he touched something, he grabbed it tightly as if he had found his life-saving straw.

"This..." Mother Lin was a little bit unbelievable. She could see that Brother Mo was very dependent on Cheng Yan, otherwise he would not subconsciously hold on to him tightly after falling asleep. However, they did not look familiar with each other at ordinary times.

"Then...please wait until Brother Mo wakes up..." Mother Lin said hesitantly.

If Cheng Yan had no feelings for her son, then the two of them staying alone in the same room would have a bad influence on Mo Ge'er. And according to the second son, Mo Ge'er was carried all the way back by Cheng Yan, and many people had seen it. In addition, his son's current reaction showed that he obviously liked Cheng Yan very much.

"Yeah." Cheng Yan tried his best to ignore the strange feeling of his hand being held tightly in Lin Mo's arms, and nodded in response.

"Da Cheng, I have something to ask you..." Mother Lin hesitated for a long time and finally asked.

"Hmm? What's up?"

"Do you... like our Mo Ge'er?"

After listening to this, Cheng Yan was stunned. It seemed that countless bees were buzzing in his head. Like... Cheng Yan seemed to understand why he felt suffocated when he saw Lin Mo crying.

"Yes, I like him." Cheng Yan came back to his senses and looked at Lin's mother, saying seriously.

After Lin's mother walked out and closed the door, Cheng Yan turned back and quietly looked at Lin Mo who had fallen asleep for a long time. He seemed to be hesitant and stretched out his other hand to touch the corners of his eyes, which were still slightly red.

I like you, I like you very much, Lin Mo.

In Lin's father and mother's room, Lin Cheng and Lin Xiu stood in front of their parents, and the room fell into silence for a while.

"What happened to Brother Mo today? Why did the doctor just say that he was overly stimulated?" Father Lin had no expression on his face, but his eyes were a little gloomy.

"I..." There was some hesitation in Lin Cheng's eyes, but he was interrupted by Lin Xiu as soon as he uttered a word.

"It's my fault. I said something that made Mo Ge'er uncomfortable, so he ran away." Lin Xiu admitted with his head down.

Lin Cheng opened his mouth to say something, but when he saw the look in Lin Xiu's eyes, he shut up.

That matter couldn't be told. Mo Ge'er had found out about it accidentally before, but after that, no one else could be told except the three of them.

"I am also responsible for this matter." Lin Cheng whispered.

Father Lin looked up at the two of them in silence, and finally stood up and left without saying anything. Mother Lin glanced at them and also left. Lin Cheng and Lin Xiu were their children, and if there was something hidden, they would naturally be able to tell early on.

"Second brother...what should we do?" Lin Cheng asked after a long silence.

"Let's wait until Brother Mo wakes up before we talk about it. Don't tell anyone else about this except the three of us."

Lin Xiu never doubted the truth of that matter. He knew that his elder brother would not lie.

When Lin's mother walked out of the house, she saw her husband squatting not far away, puffing on his pipe. Since the family had children, Lin's father had not smoked pipes again. The smell was unbearable for the children and Lin's mother.

Lin's mother walked over and sat next to him, and Lin's father put out his cigarette in silence.

"I just asked Cheng Yan, and he said he likes our Mo Ge'er." said Lin's mother.

"Um."

"I can see that Brother Mo also likes that boy Cheng Yan."

"… Let's wait a few days and then ask them what they think."

After all, when Mo Ge'er hadn't found a suitable person, his parents were still very active in finding one for him, but after knowing that he had been confirmed, Lin's father was a little reluctant. After getting married, Mo Ge'er would no longer be just their Mo Ge'er.
