Chapter 1019 Two Old Foxes

Sean smiled ambiguously and said nothing. This old fox had seen all sorts of ridiculous things; these were minor incidents, not worth mentioning.

“Mr. Lu, mobilizing some of my connections is quite difficult for me. After all, I’m no longer a senior executive at a major international company, and I don’t have the power anymore. It’s not something I can just contact whenever I want.” Sean looked at Lu Feng with a troubled expression and said, “I’ve been making calls everywhere these past few days and have used almost all the resources I can. Give me a little more time, and just out of respect for you, I’ll help you to the end. It’s not about responsibility; it’s mainly about appreciating young people.”

Sean accomplished nothing but spouted a lot of nonsense, sitting there praising Lu Feng for a long time. As the saying goes, "Keep talking and don't move your legs, or you'll run yourself ragged."

Although this person has never lived in the country, he has always been familiar with this world and is very knowledgeable about these things.

"You've worked so hard. Seeing how tired you are makes me feel really guilty. You look a few years older these past few days. Here, have a smoke!" Lu Feng took out a cigarette and handed it to Sean, who was glowing with health and looked even more energetic than himself. He lit the cigarette and said, "You really show me what a business elite is. I have to learn from you."

To Sean, these words sounded like an insult. He gave an awkward smile and quickly changed the subject, saying, "It's all part of my job. Kevin and I have known each other for a long time, so of course he'll take our family matters to heart. Mr. Lu, some things can't be rushed. I know a consulting firm with a wide network of contacts. Although you might not need their business planning skills, we urgently need their connections right now!"

Sean sat there talking about the consulting firm, practically praising it to the skies. Lu Feng initially listened attentively, thinking that if all else failed, he could hire them and spend some money. But the more he listened, the more something seemed off. This old guy was taking it too seriously, as if Jia Feng couldn't escape this quagmire without hiring this consulting firm.

What company is so amazing?

He had never heard of such a powerful company before. After a little thought, he realized something was wrong. Either this old guy was getting a high commission, or it was this old guy's company.

"Being more careful when you're out and about is always a good idea," Lu Feng thought to himself as he silently smoked his cigarette.

“I don’t trust outsiders much, I only trust you. In my eyes, in England, you are my family. Kevin entrusted me to you because he believes you are a responsible person. Even if it’s about spending money, you should spend it on those close to you first, on your own brothers, don’t you think?” Lu Feng sighed, looking like he was about to open his heart, and said, “You are older than me, so it’s appropriate for me to call you Uncle. Uncle, it’s hard being a nephew!”

When Sean heard this, he thought, "Is he playing this game with me?"

“I understand, I understand. I’ve seen too many young people over the years, just like my two assistants, frivolous and impetuous, they won’t amount to anything. You’re different, that’s why I’m putting so much effort into helping you. You said it yourself, I’m your uncle, family, and I really have high hopes for you!” Sean took a drag of his cigarette, his face a mixture of emotions, as if he was worried about Lu Feng. He sighed and said, “Take my advice, if you need to find someone, then find someone, even if it costs some money.”

"These past few days, seeing you working so hard for me has really made me feel terrible. The salary thing was just a joke with you before. I'll still pay you. What's the point of running a business? It's all about making friends. I'm so grateful to have met someone like you, Uncle. Over the years, I've learned one thing: only your own people will truly help you. You can't rely on outsiders."

"I'm not giving this money to any consulting firm, I'm giving it to you. Even if the company fails, I won't feel guilty!" Lu Feng stared at Sean with exceptional sincerity, as if he were a hot-headed fool who, since the business was failing, would prioritize his own people.

Sean was moved by these words in an instant. He had always operated with a business mindset, and in his eyes, Lu Feng was just an employer. The most fatal thing in business is emotion. You give me money, I give you goods. This way will never go wrong. If you're ruthless, you give me money, and I give you inferior goods.

But once emotions get involved, everything changes. "Brother, I'm a little short on cash lately, I'll owe you some. I can't move the money, can you lend me some?" "Brother, I have a great project we can work on together. I'd rather lose money than let you lose money," and so on.

Sean looked at Lu Feng and for a moment it felt like he was back decades ago. Back then, he also had a group of good brothers. Unfortunately, fate played a trick on him, and things had changed drastically. Many sincere things become fragile with time. He had become a billionaire, while his brothers would curse his ancestors eighteen generations back when they recalled him.

Sean took a deep breath, pulling himself back to reality from his memories. Looking at Lu Feng, who was slightly choked up, he asked, "How much can you give?"

“I’m giving you stock options in Jiafeng Group, five million US dollars, with a three-year lock-up period. This is real money. Even if the branch company goes bankrupt, the group won’t. There won’t be any additional clauses in the contract. You can rest assured, it’s really for you!” Lu Feng said to him, “I never play tricks on my own people. You can go out and ask around. I’m a very loyal friend!”

“Me too!” Sean nodded and said, “Since you call me Uncle, then I will do my best for you. I will try harder in a few days.”

"Let's not talk about that. Here's the contract; I've already prepared it." Lu Feng opened a drawer, took out an option contract, placed it in front of Sean, and said, "Take a look!"

Sean glanced at the contract and found no problems. The five million US dollars in equity had no additional conditions. Once he signed, he wouldn't have to do anything. After three years, he could sell his equity to someone within the group or have the board of directors or major shareholders buy it back.
