Chapter 1022 A Two-Pronged Approach

In the distance is an ancient castle building. Through the vegetation in the manor, only a towering spire can be seen; everything else is hidden, ensuring excellent privacy.

Two rows of soldiers stood at the main gate, their bodies ramrod straight. Just from these two rows of people, you could tell that this place was definitely not for ordinary wealthy businessmen.

The car stopped at the main entrance, and a receptionist in an evening gown, who looked to be in her forties or fifties, came over. She first took off her hat and bowed, saying, "Distinguished guest, please show me your invitation."

Lu Feng handed over the invitation.

The other party checked it and said, "Each invitation can only bring a maximum of three people. Please understand."

There are only three people in our car, including the driver.

"Please come in. There is a guide car in front of you. Please have your driver follow the guide car."

The gate opened, and a convertible was driving in front. Lu Feng's car followed them, winding its way through the streets for a few minutes before stopping in a parking lot.

A butler-like person came over and led them to the venue, explaining the theme of the evening's banquet along the way, which mainly focused on football.

"Football? British football is pretty good!" Lu Feng asked, puzzled.

"They won the championship once in 1966, and then never won it again. They've been utterly terrible all these years." The butler's voice was filled with disappointment as he said, "You probably don't know much about football, but it really was awful!"

Lu Feng said with a wry smile, "You guys probably misunderstand the word 'rotten'. Never mind, I don't understand football, so I won't say anything nonsense to avoid getting criticized if it gets out."

Lu Feng didn't understand football, but tonight's banquet was just using football as a pretext. He heard that there would be football babes dancing to warm up the atmosphere, but he didn't expect it to be a themed banquet.

The high-ceilinged reception room was illuminated with golden lights, making it seem as if one had stepped back into the Middle Ages. Many people were dressed in finery and chatting with each other. John, as one of the organizers, politely greeted everyone.

The butler stepped forward and whispered, "Mr. Lu Feng from Jiafeng Group has arrived."

John turned around and saw Lu Feng, then his gaze fell on Sean. He stepped forward and said, "Mr. Sean, what brings you here?"

"I came here with President Lu." Sean's smile was somewhat forced, feeling that he had stolen Lu Feng's thunder.

John looked at Lu Feng with great surprise. Such a powerful person was under his command?

With Sean's help, why would he need to come to me for everything?

"Mr. Lu, I didn't expect you to have such a wide network of connections. You even asked me for help. You think too highly of me." John smiled, his words implying, "With your connections, why would you need me? You're just messing with me."

“You can’t say that. We’re family. It’s only natural to turn to family first when something happens. Besides, you get what you pay for. Mr. Sean is very busy.” Lu Feng smiled at John, practically telling him that this thing was just a shell to him, all show and no substance.

“It’s an honor to have you two here today. Please come in.” John said, calling over a waiter who brought two drinks. He sat down and said, “They haven’t arrived yet. When Minister Harry and Minister Brice arrive, I will introduce you.”

"Harry and Brice are coming?" Sean asked with considerable surprise. It was clear that John wanted to push these two people to Lu Feng. Even if it was him, at most he could only introduce people of this caliber to Lu Feng.

“Yes, you two are old acquaintances, you can chat more,” John said from the side.

Lu Feng turned his head to look at John, staring straight at him. The meaning was clear: You've known me for a long time, yet you only appointed a few district heads for yourself. How can you be so shameless?

Sean smiled awkwardly and said in a low voice, "We've only met a few times."

“You won’t need to worry too much then. I believe I can get to where I am today, and I don’t need anyone else’s help. John is a good friend of mine, and the most important reason he’s my friend is his honesty. I like honest people the most.” Lu Feng looked at John and said, “You can go to Thailand to play when you have time. You can play however you want.”

Sean's expression changed upon hearing this. He had to demonstrate his worth tonight, otherwise, if the other party became unhappy, things could get messy.
