Lu Feng never expected that Sean, a man in his fifties or sixties, would do something like this, even dressed up as a bullfighter with two bull horns on his head.
The savage sensed something was amiss. The two seemed to know each other, so he gave an awkward laugh and said, "You two chat, I'm going to eat first, I'll come over and sit down in a bit."
Lu Feng held Sean's hand and looked at him, saying in a low voice, "Since you knew about this event, why didn't you tell me beforehand? Look how well I dressed today."
Sean glanced at Elmi, then pulled Lu Feng aside and whispered, "This is a costume party, don't give me any clues. I never attend these before, this is my first time. I thought you knew. Who is that?"
"My girl, how's it going? Pretty cool, huh?" Lu Feng asked him.
Sean, having completely dropped his facade of a respectable person, nodded with satisfaction and asked, "I've never seen you wear this before. Where did you meet?"
“She’s the vice president of Nokia, and her father is the CEO of Nokia. Let me tell you, Nokia isn’t doing well right now. They’ve been beaten down by Ericsson and can’t even lift their heads. They want to sell some shares to get cash flow. They don’t want to do it publicly. Elmi and I are on good terms, and he wants me to connect with the Schroders Group,” Lu Feng said in a low voice.
"What?" Sean could hardly believe his ears. Nokia was going to sell its shares? They had already weathered the worst of times, and now they were selling their shares?
"How could that be? Don't be fooled. Nokia's financial situation is still fine," Sean said confidently.
“They’re definitely fine, but they need funding to expand. The competition with Ericsson has only just begun. Let me tell you, there’s a lot of money to be made in this,” Lu Feng said earnestly.
"You're really interested in this little bit of money?" Sean felt this was absurd. It was like Jiafeng wanting to expand but being just a few million short—it was just ridiculous.
"It's not a matter of whether you like it or not, just help me out, she's so pretty, right?" Lu Feng raised an eyebrow at him and smiled.
"Alright, help me out, just don't get scammed. Also, please don't call me by my name, I'm begging you." Sean made his request. This dinner party tonight is just the beginning; tomorrow is the formal business dinner, and everyone will be dressed smartly and saying they just arrived today.
“No problem, I just wanted to contact Herman through you. I always have to make an appointment when I call him,” Lu Feng said, explaining his idea.
"We'll talk about it later. This isn't the place to discuss things." Sean made a couple of excuses and walked inside, turning back to say, "Don't follow me. Do your own thing, and don't get scammed."
Seeing that he had finished talking with Sean, Elmi stepped forward and asked, "Do you know him?"
“Sean, the CEO of the famous 'McKinsey' firm in Europe, just asked around for you. This matter is not easy to handle. If you want it to get done, you have to listen to me, understand?” Lu Feng asked.
“Sean?” Elmi searched her mind for the name, as if she had heard her father mention it. She nodded and said, “Anything is fine as long as it gets done. The sooner the better, as headquarters is putting a lot of pressure on me.”
“If you want things to go faster, then you can’t go through the normal procedures. Otherwise, you should know how complicated negotiations between large companies are. So, this matter can’t go through the normal procedures.” Lu Feng glanced around. They were clearly different from the others here, and many people were looking at them and whispering.
"Let's eat first." Lu Feng led Elmi toward a dining table and casually said, "I think your dad needs to help with this. Everyone in Europe knows Nokia, so we definitely need to ask your dad to verify."
The two sat down and ordered some food. Elmi sensed that Lu Feng's methods were probably not very honorable.
"Tell me what you can get first. If the result isn't good, I wouldn't be going to such lengths to cooperate with you," Elmi said in a low voice.
"Siemens' sales channels won't take long, at most a year, maybe even six months. I have the ability to get you channel sharing cooperation without spending a penny." Lu Feng said sincerely to Elmi, "I also have my own goals to help us reach a series of cooperation agreements with Siemens."
"Tell me first, what are you planning to do?" Elmi had already realized that Lu Feng was trying to lie.
“It’s very simple. I will tell Siemens that you can cooperate with them to make up for Siemens’ shortcomings in the communications field. The condition is to exchange them for their sales channels. They are very eager for communications right now. I will propose a small condition: you can set up another large R&D center in Finland or Sweden. Jiafeng will provide the funding, you will provide the personnel, and the results will be shared by all three parties.” Lu Feng gave his idea.
Elmi considered the feasibility of this. It was absolutely impossible for Nokia to share its core technologies with Siemens. Ericsson was already giving them a headache, and if Siemens came along, the European business world would probably be divided into three.
"We cannot go through this contract."
“I didn’t let you pass, so I’m the one mediating between you. You sign the contract with me, and I sign the contract with Siemens. If there are any problems, you can come to me. It has nothing to do with you. I can use Jiafeng’s technology to fool people for a year or two. Do you understand now?” Lu Feng said to Elmi, “So we need a relationship between us. You can tell everyone that I am your fiancé. That relationship is enough.”
Elmi analyzed the situation and concluded that it was highly feasible. Moreover, since Nokia and Siemens would not sign any contracts and everything would go through Jiafeng, the risks would be minimal. If anything went wrong, Jiafeng Group would bear the responsibility.
