Chapter 1053 Hermann's Conjecture

As evening fell, a convoy of three cars stopped in front of an old castle. The gates opened, and the vehicles drove through lush, tree-lined paths. The aroma of wine filled the entire estate. Elmi, sitting in the back seat, rolled down the window, took a deep breath, and turned to Lu Feng, saying, "The red wine produced by this winery is definitely high-end."

"I didn't expect you to know this," Lu Feng said in surprise.

"I was taught at home when I was little, so I've been influenced by what I've seen and heard since I was a child. Who are the guests this time?" Elmi asked curiously.

"Sean introduced him. Be careful what you say later. They'll definitely ask about headquarters matters. Just don't give anything away. Just say that several senior executives on the board have entrusted me with handling this matter. If they don't believe you, they can call your dad to verify," Lu Feng instructed.

"Won't something go wrong after we sign the contract?" Elmi asked with some concern.

"Don't worry, they definitely won't notice anything in the short term. If they find out later, you can put all the blame on me. You and your dad can just say you don't know them. Once it goes through a third party, it'll be a mess. As for when things come to light, if they seize your products and you sue them in court, they won't be able to produce any evidence and will have to return the goods." Lu Feng had paved the way for her.

“This kind of thing wouldn’t pass the risk control department’s review in a big company. It’s not easy to find someone willing to take the fall,” Elmi said worriedly.

“You can rest assured about this. As long as there is enough profit, they will jump into any fire pit.” Lu Feng understood these entrepreneurs all too well. Driven by sufficient profit, they would dare to take any risk.

As they were talking, the car stopped in front of the villa. Several doormen in suits opened the car door and said to Lu Feng, "Distinguished Mr. Lu, welcome."

Lu Feng got out of the car and waited for Elmi to come over before walking inside. The slightly rustic villa didn't look very old, but inside it was decorated with carved beams and painted rafters, with various reliefs from the last century. It seemed a bit too much, giving it a nouveau riche feel.

Before they even reached the stairs, Sean came down from upstairs, looking very smart in a suit. He walked towards Lu Feng with a smile and said, "Mr. Lu, your presence is an honor to this humble abode. This vineyard is a supplier of Lafite. Today, we're enjoying the original liquor, so we must drink until we drop!"

"This is my first time in a place like this, and I don't know much about wine," Lu Feng said casually.

"Miss Elmi, welcome, welcome! You're getting more and more beautiful. Please come upstairs; our guest who has come from afar is already waiting." Sean exchanged a few polite words and went upstairs.

"Now you can tell us who our distinguished guest is, right? Why are you being so secretive?" Lu Feng asked as he climbed the stairs.

"It won't make a difference to take a little more time. You'll find out once you're inside." Sean kept everyone in suspense, then changed the subject to the wine.

Upon reaching the second floor, the waiter opened the door to a room where a man was sitting on the sofa with his back to Lu Feng. His face was obscured, but his imposing presence was evident from behind.

Seeing the figure from behind, Lu Feng already knew it was Herman. He deliberately said, "This friend is quite mysterious, isn't he?"

Hermann stood up, turned around, smiled at Lu Feng, and said, "Mr. Lu, it's been a long time."

Seeing his face stiffen and his smile fade, Lu Feng noticed Sean's displeasure and quickly grabbed Lu Feng's hand, saying, "It's really nothing. Herman is a good person. You may not have met him much, so there might be some misunderstanding. He flew to London specifically to meet you today."

"Misunderstanding?" Lu Feng flung Sean's hand away and stared at Herman, saying, "Back then, when I called you, I couldn't even make an appointment to see you. Last time, I wanted to talk to you through Harry/Bris, but you didn't give me any face and messed with me to death. Now you say you're a good person?"

“Mr. Lu, there really is a misunderstanding between us. After all, I am the CEO of Siemens, and I have to act in accordance with the company’s interests. I admire you very much and have heard your story. You can’t find another young talent like you in the whole world.” Hermann lowered his tone and said, “Since you’re here today, why don’t we sit down and have a chat? What do you say, Miss Elmy?”

When Elmi came in, Lu Feng quietly instructed her to help persuade him if he lost his temper, and to give him a way out.

"Don't give me that crap. If you're useful, we're friends; if you're not, I can't even reach you by phone," Lu Feng said, sounding quite agitated.

Hermann was embarrassed by Lu Feng's lack of respect, and Sean quickly stepped forward to speak up for him. Elmi also chimed in, "Siemens is a big company, after all. For such a big matter, we should put our personal feelings aside first, don't you think?"

“Yeah, that’s business. The fact that they’re here shows they’re sincere.” Sean whispered from the side, “You can just ask for more and rip them off. There’s no point in saying all this.”

After being persuaded by the two, Lu Feng's expression improved considerably. He glanced at Herman and stepped inside.

Sean, fearing that Herman would be angry, quickly stepped forward and said, "Don't take it to heart with a young man. It's normal to have some emotions."

“It’s good that I don’t mind. I like doing business with emotional people.” Hermann walked inside with a calm expression.

The staff inside were already prepared, and the food had been ordered in advance. As everyone sat down, the dishes began to be served. A beautifully dressed woman walked in and introduced the history of the winery and some knowledge about wine, but Lu Feng had no interest in listening at all.
