Chapter 1058 Imminent Retreat

In the eyes of capital, ordinary people are always a flock of unorganized sheep. Even though they have already sensed the danger, as long as they are shown a picture of a lush grassland, they will continue to move forward.

After Lu Feng left, the host went on stage and boasted about Jia Feng's future, as if following Jia Feng would be a sure thing.

Life is a gamble. These people, who are middle-aged and can no longer rely on themselves to achieve success, will desperately try to grasp even the slightest hope, just in case.

Regardless of skin color or social class, what kills people is always the 'what if'.

When Lu Feng returned to the company, Manager Li gave him some good news: the two branches in Germany and France had already transferred 130 million US dollars back to China via foreign exchange, which was the first step in Jiafeng Group's major retreat.

Only a few high-level executives knew about this, and Lu Feng kept it under tight control. When contacting the Siemens team, he also required all participants to sign a confidentiality agreement first. Once Wall Street learned that Siemens had made concessions, that would be the moment when the storm was about to break.

The return of the first sum of money finally relieved Lu Feng. He called Zhu Lidong and instructed the finance department to handle the handover of funds properly. If the procedures on the mainland were complicated, the funds should be deposited into the account through the Hong Kong company first. He also specifically instructed that the funds should be deposited in a state-owned bank, not in one of the foreign banks in Hong Kong.

Then he called Liu Cheng's office, only to be told that Liu Cheng was currently on a business trip in Sweden. He was given a phone number and then Lu Feng called it.

"Hello, this is the Ruixin R&D Center office. Who are you looking for?" a woman's voice asked on the other end of the phone.

"Hello, I'm looking for Liu Cheng from Jiafeng R&D Company," Lu Feng said into the phone. "Just say this is Lu Feng."

"Okay, please wait a moment."

A few minutes later, the call was finally transferred, and Liu Cheng's voice came from the other end: "President Lu, what's the matter?"

"When did you go to Sweden?" Lu Feng asked.

"I've been here for about ten days. I came to check on the progress of the mobile phone motherboard development. Mr. Lu, when can we register the patent? The longer it drags on, the more troublesome it will be. It's best to register the global patent as soon as possible. After all, the engineers involved in the development are all from abroad, and some of the ideas were proposed by engineering directors from other companies." Liu Cheng sounded a little anxious on the phone and said, "I'm afraid that the people here will take the blueprints and stuff out and those companies will get them and register them first."

"No rush, wait a little longer, it should be ready by the end of this month. Overseas funds will be flowing back soon. How is the mobile phone R&D progressing?" Lu Feng inquired.

"We've made progress on several technologies, and we're currently conducting overall testing and making a series of adjustments. If all goes well, we should be able to complete the development of the first phone by the end of the year. If things go slowly, it should be around the second quarter of next year," Liu Cheng replied.

Lu Feng felt much more at ease after hearing about the progress of the mobile phone project. As long as Jiafeng launches the mobile phone next year and expands the domestic market, chip sales can be guaranteed to some extent. Otherwise, production without a market is not enough.

"The overall goal is to make steady progress. Ideally, we should bring in an entire team. How is the construction of the domestic R&D center going?" Lu Feng inquired.

“Our R&D center in Shenzhen has been established, and we’ve taken in about 800 people from the talent center. I’m here today hoping to talk to them about sending some engineers to our R&D center in China,” Liu Cheng replied.

"Still the original plan: assign three to five domestic apprentices to each foreign engineer. Tell those apprentices that no matter what methods they use, whoever learns first will get a raise. Once the engineer has learned enough, find a reason to let him go." Lu Feng instructed, "Expedite the talent recruitment efforts with major universities, and bring as many foreign talents as possible to work in China."

"It might be a bit troublesome to introduce it to China, as some people are unwilling to come to China."

"Let anyone who's willing come. We'll take care of their food, clothing, lodging, and transportation—everything, including their wives and children. We'll try our best to keep these people under our control. Also, after this trip, you're not allowed to go abroad again. All senior executives of the R&D company are strictly prohibited from going abroad, understand?" Lu Feng instructed.

Liu Cheng was a little confused by this and asked, "Why? Now is the time when we have the closest exchanges with some foreign universities, research centers and companies."

“Let some middle managers handle the communication. If anything happens, we can talk by phone. By the end of this month, all the funds in Europe will be withdrawn. I don’t know how big of a problem it will cause. It’s also for everyone’s safety. I can’t bear to see you all arrested and sentenced to several years in prison,” Lu Feng said on the other end of the phone.

"How could that be? They are a country ruled by law."

“Why not? You have to trust my judgment. Better safe than sorry. Make arrangements as soon as you get back, and prepare the materials for registering a global patent. Once the funds are safely withdrawn, you can register. Registration will take time, but we can announce it to the public once I return to China,” Lu Feng instructed.

Although Liu Cheng didn't believe these countries would do such a thing, he still had to listen to Lu Feng, so he could only agree and wait for Lu Feng to return to see how things went.

After hanging up the phone, Lu Feng felt even more confident. Jiafeng R&D Company was his only source of confidence. As long as he could turn money into technology, one day that technology would bring in even more money. Once his technology reached the forefront, he would be in charge of the rules of the industry.
