Chapter 1101 Identity Verification

"Missing a father?" Zhu Lidong's eyes were blank.

What did we talk about this afternoon? Why is it that we're starting to feel the need for a father figure?

"What's wrong?" Liu Cheng asked, sounding slightly nervous.

"As expected, they've started investigating. That's normal. Usually, orders are made after several months of communication over the phone before they come to the factory to check things out. We seem to have appeared out of nowhere. If I weren't young, even a fool would know something was wrong. Fortunately, there's still a chance to salvage the situation," Lu Feng said in a deep voice.

Liu Cheng asked, somewhat bewildered, "Does your mother have connections in Thailand?"

Zhu Lidong slapped him on the shoulder and said irritably, "How can you talk like that?"

Lu Feng stared at him, his expression not looking too good. Liu Cheng awkwardly covered his face with his hand and muttered, "Damn it, I spoke too quickly!"

"Let me briefly tell you two my information. President Liang and the others know that President Liu speaks English, so they're worried they might try to find out from you indirectly." Lu Feng explained some of Kuntai's background, which basically completed the identity loop.

After letting the two of them go about their business, the first thing Lu Feng did upon returning to his room was to call Zhalun. Songpa had given him his phone number before, but unfortunately, he didn't know where he had lost the business card, and it was too late to find it now.

"Whose call was it? Songpa?" Zhalun smiled helplessly and said, "Mr. Lu, I'm just a police chief, only in charge of one region. A tycoon like Songpa wouldn't look down on a nobody like me."

"Do you know anyone who has his phone number? Can you get in touch with Sirami? I'm in a hurry," Lu Feng asked.

Zhalun suddenly realized that he held considerable power in Lu Feng's heart, as neither of these two people were people he could contact privately.

“There’s nothing I can do about it. At most, I can provide you with the phone numbers of a few bosses who might know him,” Zhalun said.

Lu Feng asked for a few phone numbers, and first called Sirami, but no one answered. He then called the bosses, but still got no information. He then called the security company.

It took almost two hours of effort to finally get Sompha's phone number. When I called, it rang for a long time before the other end answered. I heard a string of Thai on the other end.

“Brother Songpa, do you remember me?” Lu Feng asked in English. “Yes, Lu Feng from Jiafeng Group.”

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then a rather cold voice said, "Mr. Lu, of course I remember. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Lu Feng could tell that the other party didn't remember at all, but he didn't care. He said politely, "I just remembered you and wanted to catch up. Come to think of it, it's been quite a while since we last met..."

"Yes, yes, I have something to take care of here. I'll definitely call back when I'm free, and we can catch up." Songpa had already prepared an excuse to hang up.

Lu Feng ignored him and changed the subject, saying, "I was talking about you with Prince Maha today, and that's when I remembered you, my old friend."

The person on the other end of the line, who was about to hang up, suddenly froze and asked, "Really? I've been drinking a lot lately, and I've been living in a daze. My hearing isn't working very well, so I can't hear clearly. Please forgive me, Mr. Lu, is that right?"

"Looks like you've been having a great time lately. We met on Wall Street before, and then at Prince Maha's dinner party. Srirasmi is one of my people." Lu Feng spoke very directly at this moment.

"Oh dear, I'm really drunk. I didn't even recognize your voice. I saw your news on international news a while ago. I was amazed that you're so young and already on an international news channel. I've wasted my whole life," Songpa teased on the phone.

"It's just small-time stuff. You, brother, are the real behemoth hidden underwater. Those jumping around in the open are just fleas," Lu Feng said with a hint of flattery.

The two chatted on the phone for a while, and the person on the other end tentatively asked about the current relationship between Sirami and Lu Feng, to which Lu Feng naturally gave a long boast.

"By the way, I have a small favor to ask you for. It's very, very small, but I'll definitely come to Thailand to thank you in person after it's done." Lu Feng finally got to the point.

"What is it? Tell me and let me know." Songpa knew this, but he didn't dare to agree rashly. He wanted to listen first.

"Well, I was chatting with someone recently, and they mentioned that I come from a poor family. So I bragged that my family is the rubber tycoon of Thailand, and that you're my uncle. But I regretted it as soon as I said it. They said they have your phone number and might call to ask questions. I hope you can cover for me." Lu Feng said casually, "It's just a trivial matter."

Songpa wasn't stupid, so he naturally didn't believe this explanation. With a little thought, he realized that Lu Feng was using a false identity to operate internationally, which wasn't a big deal, but it wasn't a small one either.

“I should be happy to suddenly have such a capable nephew. But I’ve also met with Sirami several times recently. It’s not for any other reason than that I feel the girl has suffered too much and I want to treat her better so that her life won’t be so hard.”

“I understand your kindness all too well. Don’t worry, when I go to Thailand, we’ll find an occasion so you can express your compassion for her tragic experience in person. Uncle, what do you think?” Lu Feng asked.

The person on the other end of the phone laughed, seemingly quite satisfied with the answer, and said, "Then nephew, get some rest. I have some things to take care of here, so I'll have to go now."

"Uncle, you should get some rest." Lu Feng said politely for a couple of minutes before hanging up the phone.

With the matter finally resolved, Lu Feng breathed a sigh of relief and quickly washed up before going to bed.
