Jiang Xiaoyan knew quite a bit about Jiafeng's affairs. She sat down and said, "If only you had developed step by step back then, and done as much as you could with the money you had, would you be where you are today? Look how well Huasha is developing. This year's profit is twice that of last year. I calculated it today, and the net profit is already 50 million."
Seeing that she looked like she was about to criticize him, Lu Feng lit a cigarette and asked, "Are you sure your company is yours?"
“It’s me and Fengxia,” Jiang Xiaoyan said confidently.
"As far as I know, when the company was struggling and expanding production, it seems that some other companies invested a lot of money, right?" Lu Feng joked, "How did it become yours?"
The company that invested in Huasha seemed to be very wealthy and powerful. After giving the money, they never cared about anything again, as if they had vanished into thin air. Only then did Jiang Xiaoyan realize that she did not hold 80% of Huasha's shares.
"You say you work so hard all day long, only to end up working for someone else? How can that be?" Jiang Xiaoyan deflated like a punctured balloon, and said to Lu Feng, "Isn't this just being a rich landlord?"
“That’s what capital does.” Lu Feng was about to reveal that he had invested in her.
Unexpectedly, Jiang Xiaoyan muttered, "No, if this gets too big, it'll end up like Jiafeng's current situation. In the next few years, we'll have to make more money and then find a way to start our own business. It's not a good idea to work for someone else."
Hearing her words, Lu Feng stopped talking. At least she still had the energy to make a fuss. In the past year, Jiang Xiaoyan had been cooking less and less. Firstly, she was busy with work, and secondly, she had started to spend money. Lu Feng had tried many times to get her to shed her small-farmer mentality, but since she took control of her finances, she had started to move towards a more bourgeois lifestyle.
The two chatted casually about how to make her company her own. In Jiang Xiaoyan's mind, this was a very typical small-farmer mentality: "My land is mine. I work, and all the profits are mine. For example, if I can't afford fertilizer and seeds this year, I can borrow them from Zhang San and Li Si instead of directly sharing my land ownership with them."
She sat there feeling very frustrated and told Lu Feng that she should have borrowed some money instead of selling her shares. If she had known that selling her shares could lead to the company being taken over, she would never have done such a thing.
Lu Feng couldn't help but laugh after hearing her theory, and told her, "What if Huasha doesn't do well and goes bankrupt?"
If they take out a loan to fight the debt, and the business goes bankrupt, then there will be no hope of recovery. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. Even after Duoduo came back and went to bed after washing up, she still seemed sullen, as if her efforts had been robbed.
The next morning, Lu Feng got up and changed into a suit, looking quite formal. Duo Duo also woke up early and saw Lu Feng tidying up his clothes and taking out his leather shoes. She walked over timidly.
"What trouble have you gotten yourself into now?" Lu Feng asked without looking up.
"It's nothing, it's just that the school needs parents to sign something." Duoduo held a test paper behind her back.
"You're in third grade now, and after the New Year you'll be a ten-year-old big girl. Be more sensible." Lu Feng put on his shoes, looked up at her, and asked, "What score?"
"You can't tell my mom, and signing this for you shows I'm honest. There are people at the school gate who can sign for you for a dollar a time." Duoduo looked at me with a "look how honest I am" expression.
"Who signed on behalf of your parents?" Lu Feng asked, puzzled.
"It's that security guard, the one who's so nice to me. He always smiles at me when he sees me," Duoduo blurted out.
"That old bastard," Lu Feng cursed a few times, then asked, "What score did you get?"
"You tell me first that you're not angry!" Duoduo made Lu Feng promise repeatedly.
"Okay, I'm not angry!"
Upon hearing the guarantee, Duoduo finally smiled, took out the test paper, and proudly declared, "One point!"
"What the hell?" Lu Feng snatched the test paper, thinking he had misheard. Looking at the big X's over the little X's on the paper, he almost died of anger for a moment. He took a deep breath and said, "One point! Damn it, one point! It's a math test with so many multiple-choice questions. If you had just guessed a couple, you would have gotten more than one point. Judging from the test, you really have bad luck."
“You said you wouldn’t be angry, and I did this on purpose. Hou Jieming in our class always comes in last place. Last time, his parents said that as long as he doesn’t come in last place, they would reward him with 100 yuan. He gave me 50 yuan, and I helped him catch up!” Duoduo grinned and said, “I was afraid he would get too low a score, so I kept the score to one point. That’s 50 yuan.”
"Look at how much money you've earned! The teacher's comment on the test paper is 'attitude is not correct.' Money! Our family doesn't lack it. It's just that we feel like our family is a bit short-sighted." Lu Feng flipped through the test paper, stood up, and went upstairs.
Where are you going?
"Didn't you say you wouldn't tell Mom?"
Why are you like this?
"If you go any further upstairs, I'll really get angry!!"
............
Jiang Xiaoyan was still half asleep when she felt Lu Feng come in. She turned over and mumbled, "I'll go later tonight, I'll sleep a little longer."
Lu Feng didn't respond, walked to the bedside, and whispered in her ear, "Your daughter got one point on the test!"
A dozen minutes later, amidst Duo Duo's wailing, she cursed Lu Feng as a traitor, followed by another beating. Lu Feng finished cleaning up, grabbed his car, and drove straight to the dock.
At 10:30 a.m., as the ship docked, a large number of passengers arrived at the station, making the scene quite crowded. The VIP passage was much more comfortable. Feng Zhiyao was the first to walk out, followed by a person carrying a suitcase. He looked much more composed. Last year's Hong Kong-style hoodie and jeans outfit was gone, replaced by a gray casual suit.
