Chapter 1130 Joint Operation?

"That's great! If this works out, we'll have to write more articles for President Tan." Lu Feng said politely on the phone.

After chatting for a long time, Lu Feng wanted to find out some inside information, but the other party kept his mouth shut, only saying that Young Master Zhou thought Lu Feng was a good person and that his performance last night was excellent.

Lu Feng absolutely did not believe these words.

After hanging up the phone, Lu Feng secretly pondered the intricacies of the situation, realizing there were likely many things he didn't know.

It was still far from evening, and Lu Feng didn't even have time to eat. After thinking it over, he called Huang Youwei. Huang Youwei wasn't surprised to receive Lu Feng's call and asked slowly, "What's up?"

"Have you been up to something lately?" Lu Feng asked bluntly.

"Tell me first, who did you have dinner with last night?" Huang Youwei asked in return.

“The business definitely needs to be done. The mobile phone business is very important to us. It will be launched after the New Year. I don’t care how you guys try to negotiate. You can’t expect me to wait a year while you drag things out, right?” Lu Feng said into the phone. “Business is all about negotiation. Let’s talk first.”

“You talk your voice, I’ll do my thing.” Huang Youwei put down his pen and said seriously, “But I still want to advise you not to take sides randomly. Some things can happen very quickly, if you want to.”

"I'm willing?" Lu Feng frowned slightly, sensing that something was wrong, as if something had been off ever since he arrived.

“I bet you can sense how much is going on in that teahouse. They’re all pretty cautious, so they need someone to dig up all that mess.” Huang Youwei said slowly, “You’re a good candidate. Everyone knows you want to get into the mobile phone business, so it’s only natural.”

"You were already planning this when I told you I was coming?" Lu Feng's voice rose several decibels.

"Why are you so surprised? It's just a matter of going with the flow. Is it a big deal for you? This thorn has been bothering you for years. Now is the perfect opportunity. Your mobile phone business will be completely unimpeded." Huang Youwei said into the phone, "That's all I have to say. Think it over yourself."

After hanging up the phone, Lu Feng felt for the first time that he had been tricked. No wonder Huang Youwei was so welcoming when he came this time; it turned out that this was what was waiting for him.

Such state-owned enterprises are not under local jurisdiction, so local authorities can't get involved. They need an opportunity, and Lu Feng's arrival has established a connection between state-owned enterprises and local authorities, so some things can be done conveniently.

Lu Feng finally understood why Secretary Li had said in his office that day that they should seize the opportunity and resolve the issue once and for all.

Lu Feng spent the afternoon pondering whether he should get involved, but the problem was, he couldn't avoid it now. There were only a few major economic provinces in the country, and it wouldn't be easy to negotiate a deal in a short time. If he couldn't even win over Jiangsu, he would have even less of a chance in other places.

If an old acquaintance like Huang Youwei is setting this kind of trap for him, who knows what other pitfalls he might fall into elsewhere.

The problem is that Mr. Zhou and his family have been working in the communications system for many years. If they bring him down, it will be difficult for them to deal with people in this industry in the future.

"You can't always get the better deal. I just got scammed." Lu Feng sighed helplessly.

As evening fell, a Mercedes-Benz W14 pulled up downstairs at the hotel. Fatty Tan got out and went to Lu Feng's room himself. He knocked on the door and said to Lu Feng, "Mr. Lu, am I disturbing your rest?"

"No, I'm all ready." Lu Feng changed his clothes and looked at Fatty Tan, who was all smiles today, and said, "Why did you come in person?"

“It’s all only right. You’re my patron now. As long as Young Master Zhou is happy, whenever you come here, just give me a call and I’ll arrange everything for you.” Fatty Tan was particularly friendly as he stood at the door and said to Lu Feng, “Last night, Young Master Zhou went back and talked to President Zhou. Actually, President Zhou wasn’t targeting you; it was mainly about other issues.”

"I'm a businessman. I don't want to know too much about other things. As long as the business goes well, nothing else matters." Lu Feng casually picked up his suit jacket and put it on, saying, "Let's go."

Along the way, Fatty Tan talked to Lu Feng about President Zhou. Over the past few years, he had managed the province's communications system very well, making him a top talent nationwide.

However, the provincial government changed its leadership, and everything changed. The original plan was still in effect, and it was impossible to just abandon such a large investment.

Previously, they mainly served enterprises by setting up communication systems between them. Local enterprises would contribute money, the city would contribute money, and state-owned enterprises would contribute money. Then, they would find a company to do it. This way, everyone's costs were low, and the communication system could be set up quickly.

That's no longer possible. They've made it so that telecommunications companies have to bear all the costs, and they're prioritizing the upgrading of telephone lines for municipal and public systems.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Fatty Tan turned around and said to Lu Feng in the back seat, "There's a lot going on here. The state-owned enterprises' money is used by the municipal government for projects, but the municipal government and the government don't pay out of their own pockets. The office phones are already enough. Where did the extra ones go? Let me tell you, they're all being secretly taken to factories and residents' homes to resell quotas."

Lu Feng listened to these inside stories and laughed awkwardly, saying, "I really don't know much about these things."

“Don’t be fooled by those office workers who sit there like big shots with their teacups. Let me tell you, they’re full of bad intentions.” Fatty Tan, now seemingly a benevolent patriot, sighed and said, “State-owned enterprises are all lucrative. Who wouldn’t want to make a quick buck? Of course, since you’re close to Huang Youwei, there are some things I can’t say.”
