Chapter 1225 Su Yourong's Attack

Su Yourong didn't say anything and hung up the phone. Lu Feng, feeling a bit bored, made himself a cup of tea, drank it, and then went to sleep.

The next morning, after packing up, Lu Feng drove to the airport. After waiting for about an hour, he finally saw an older woman wearing a floral cotton-padded jacket and a knitted hat at the exit, looking out of place.

"Mom! Over here!" Lu Feng called out.

"Oh, son, this way, where are you going?" Mom pulled Dad over. Both of them were wearing cotton-padded clothes and looked particularly hot. Although it had gotten colder in Shenzhen, Lu Feng was only wearing a jacket.

"Why are you wearing so many clothes? Didn't you say on the phone that it's much warmer here than where we are?" Lu Feng hurriedly took the bags and packages.

"Your dad and I weren't dressed warmly at first, but when we went out to try it on, it wasn't enough. It was too cold, so we'd rather be warmer," Mom explained.

A fine layer of sweat had accumulated on the tip of Lu Feng's father's nose, and he took off his hat and fanned himself vigorously.

"Go back and change your clothes!" Lu Feng said, carrying his things as they walked out. It was the first time either of them had ever been on a plane, and they chatted incessantly with Lu Feng the whole way.

Once home, after changing their clothes, the elderly couple looked around Lu Feng's house, occasionally offering their comments. The mother came downstairs and asked Lu Feng, "Where's Duo Duo? When does she get out of school?"

"Duoduo is already on winter break and is with Xiaoyan!" Lu Feng said awkwardly.

“Alright, you’re so busy, how can you take care of the child? When your aunt goes back, there won’t be anyone to take care of you. If you ask me,” Dad sat down and picked up Lu Feng’s cigarette, examining it, “let your mother come and take care of you this year. She has nothing to do at home anyway.”

"We'll talk about that later. I might not be here after the New Year. It's lunchtime, let's go out for lunch, let's have Western food!" Lu Feng dodged some of the topics.

During lunch, Lu Feng booked a table for New Year's Eve dinner at a restaurant. In the afternoon, he accompanied the two of them for a stroll along the beach. They talked about all sorts of things, mostly about relatives. Lu Feng chimed in, while his mother kept urging him to get married and have a child, saying that he was getting on in years.

After a long, drawn-out chatter, the day finally came to an end. After arranging rooms for the two of them, Lu Feng went back to his room and drifted off to sleep.

When Lu Feng regained consciousness, he heard loud laughter coming from downstairs, and children outside occasionally setting off firecrackers, which was really annoying.

"Are these two crazy? What time is it? Why are they laughing so loudly? Are they really that outgoing?"

Lu Feng got up, rubbed his eyes, put on his thermal underwear, and went out of the room. He stood on the second-floor railing and looked down, and was shocked.

Su Yourong was sitting on the sofa, with Lu Feng's parents sitting on either side of her. Various fruits and dried fruits were laid out on the table. Lu Feng's mother was holding Su Yourong's hand, her mouth almost splitting into a wide grin.

"Son, you're awake?" Mom looked up at Lu Feng and said, "Why didn't you tell us about such a good thing?"

"What's going on?" Lu Feng asked, bewildered.

"That's just how he is. Despite his fierceness in his career, he's quite shy when it comes to relationships." Su Yourong looked at Lu Feng with a smile and said, "You're awake! Are you hungry? I'll make you some food!"

Seeing her like that, Lu Feng understood that she was obviously bored during the New Year and was trying to amuse herself.

"No need, no need. Just buy whatever you want to eat. I bought some groceries this morning, I'll cook for you." Mom smiled and stood up to go to the kitchen.

After washing up, Lu Feng went downstairs and saw his father still urging Su Yourong to eat fruit. Lu Feng sat there staring at her and had to admit that this outfit was definitely not a spur-of-the-moment decision, but rather something he had prepared in advance.

Wearing a long floral dress for autumn, with her hair simply tied up and naturally hanging down, and a delicate, girl-next-door makeup, she could easily be mistaken for a young, unmarried woman.

"Let's go for a walk!" Lu Feng said, staring at her.

"Auntie, let me help you." Su Yourong completely ignored Lu Feng, stood up and walked towards the kitchen, saying, "It's okay, I do this all the time at home. Don't think that just because I'm the richest man in Hong Kong now, I'm from a poor family. I used to be good at everything, from fetching water to lighting fires and cooking!"

Lu Feng frowned, his eyes constantly glancing towards the kitchen.

Dad lit a cigarette and smoked it silently, saying in a low voice, "Lu Feng, You Rong is a good girl. Don't look down on her because her family was poor when she was young. She is hardworking and eager to learn. She graduated with a doctorate at the age of 26. She has achieved so much in the past few years. She is no ordinary person."

"Doctor?" Lu Feng laughed.

"What are you laughing at? What were your grades like when you were in school? She's pretty and smart, what a wonderful girl!" Dad looked at him with a hint of exasperation and said, "Don't get too picky. Girls this innocent are hard to find these days."

Around noon, a table full of dishes was served. Mom looked at Su Yourong with great satisfaction. They exchanged pleasantries, and Su Yourong stood to the side and said, "Please sit down first. I dare not sit if the elders don't sit. This is how I've been raised."

After a long exchange of pleasantries, they finally sat down. Lu Feng looked at her and said in a low voice, "That's enough!"

"Eat, eat, You Rong, please eat more. Make yourself at home, don't be shy," Mom said politely.

While eating, Su Yourong would occasionally put food on her parents' plates and chat about her childhood. She said that her family was poor when she was young, but she loved the piano and couldn't afford one. Later, she had the opportunity to study abroad, where she taught herself the piano and violin, and also learned English.

Lu Feng didn't say a word during the meal, just ate with his head down. When they were almost finished eating, Su Yourong started praising the two elders for their kind faces and for being particularly friendly upon meeting them. She talked about how she had received help from an elderly couple when she was a child, and how they looked a lot like Lu Feng's parents.
