The room was spotless. Lu Feng sat on the floor, picked up scissors, and started making a boat. The little guy lay beside him, watching with wide eyes, his gaze full of admiration.
Lu Feng suddenly realized that doing handicrafts could increase his sense of pride, especially with her watching him like that, he suddenly felt very capable.
"Can you two sit on the sofa?" Jiang Xiaoyan urged.
"It's okay, there's heating, it's not cold." As he spoke, Lu Feng pulled over a cushion from the side and placed it under his bottom.
"Isn't Zhang Fengxia involved in some kind of business negotiation? Everything's done, so why is she still here?" Jiang Xiaoyan asked casually, but her gaze was glancing in their direction.
"I don't know what she's thinking, but it's good that she stays. We're in a period of rapid development and need talent." Lu Feng cut out the pieces of paper and started gluing them together.
"She's a college student?"
"An international student, from Harvard University, and a graduate student at that!"
"You're not a local, are you? A young woman living far from home, are you married?"
Lu Feng could tell that she was overthinking things, so he put down what he was holding and looked at her, saying, "You're not married yet, but someone told me that they like me, think I'm handsome, and are shamelessly trying to become my lover."
"You agreed?" Jiang Xiaoyan asked nervously.
Lu Feng couldn't help but laugh at her appearance and teased, "I told her I need to discuss this with my wife!"
Jiang Xiaoyan lowered her head, looking somewhat dejected, and said, "Don't talk to me about it. I'll just pretend I don't know anything. I know I'm not very educated, and now you have money..."
Lu Feng had only meant to tease her, but he hadn't expected her to take it seriously. He quickly interrupted, "What nonsense are you talking about? I was just kidding. I'm not some rich landlord who would marry a concubine. What are you saying all day long?"
“I’ve been spending a lot of time with the wives of wealthy men lately, and they say that their husbands are all philanderers, and not just one, which is all normal…”
"Alright, others are others. Don't listen to their nonsense. I'll finish this and go to sleep early. You just need to be taught a lesson." Lu Feng raised his eyebrows with a slightly ambiguous tone.
Jiang Xiaoyan looked up, her expression panicked, and asked in surprise, "Are you going to hit me?"
"I..." Lu Feng was speechless. He said, "It's that kind of tidying up. What are you thinking? Go back to your bedroom."
Lu Feng looked at her. Over the years, he felt that he had given Jiang Xiaoyan a warm, wealthy, and comfortable home, and that his past wounds had completely healed.
But the terror that had overflowed in her eyes just now was still so real. Perhaps some wounds need a lifetime to heal. Lu Feng smacked his lips, feeling a mix of emotions he couldn't quite describe.
It was already past nine o'clock at night. Duoduo had fallen asleep on Lu Feng's lap. The boat was ready, and Lu Feng put it aside. He picked up the little guy and put him on the sofa, covering him with a blanket.
After a quick wash, I opened the bedroom door and found that Jiang Xiaoyan was still awake. I quietly closed the door, tiptoed to the bedside, and suddenly rushed over.
Jiang Xiaoyan was startled and raised her hand to hit him. Just as she was about to scold him, her lips were sealed with a kiss.
He was as wild as a wild beast, and Jiang Xiaoyan didn't even have a chance to resist. She had felt wronged all day, but at this moment, she didn't have time to think about any of her grievances.
She felt as if a raging fire was burning inside her, a sensation that made her soul tremble.
The room resounded with a concerto of life, carrying a touch of spring and a melodious tune, its highs and lows, its gentle melodies inspiring endless imagination.
The curtain fell only when the song reached its climax and brought a soul-stirring tremor, but after a while, the battle reignited.
The next morning, Lu Feng felt a foot stepping on his face. He turned over and continued to sleep, but the foot went further and actually stepped on his head with both feet.
"Your head is crushed!" Lu Feng opened his eyes and saw Duo Duo holding onto the headboard with both hands and stepping on his head with both feet.
"Stinky Daddy, wake up, you're going to be late." The little guy plopped down on Lu Feng's chest without hesitation, blinked his big eyes, and pouted, saying, "I want to go to kindergarten."
“Duoduo, you’re five years old now, and you should weigh almost forty pounds. You’re not a three or four-year-old anymore. Don’t wake me up by stepping on my head, okay?” Lu Feng closed his eyes and said, “Let your mother take you there.”
Jiang Xiaoyan, lying to the side, said, "Keep stepping on him."
Lu Feng then noticed that Jiang Xiaoyan hadn't gotten up yet. He turned around, stared at her with wide eyes, and asked, "Why aren't you up yet?"
"What do you think?" Jiang Xiaoyan countered.
"This...no way? It's swollen?"
"Swelled up my ass." Jiang Xiaoyan kicked him with one foot and said irritably, "Your body feels weak."
"It should be that my legs are weak."
"If you insist on doing this a second time, I don't want to get up. You can take Duoduo to kindergarten and go to work at the factory on the way." Jiang Xiaoyan snuggled up to Lu Feng's shoulder and acted coquettishly.
"Hurry up, we're going to be late!" Duoduo shouted.
Lu Feng muttered to himself as he put on his clothes, "Being a man is really tough. If a woman just groans a couple of times, you have to go through fire and water."
"Why all the nonsense? You don't want to?"
"Of course I'd be a hundred percent willing! You're so beautiful, dying under your peony would be my honor."
Lu Feng got up, washed up quickly, and dressed Duo Duo. When the father and daughter left, it was almost eight o'clock. They bought two breakfasts on the way and drove to the kindergarten. Fortunately, they were not too late.
